Amaterasu could not sleep. After returning to the Kawani lands, she has felt restless, and it has not been uncommon for her to remain awake late into the night, although she has not been back for very long. Eventually, she accepted the fact that she would not be falling asleep right now, and opened her eyes. Issun seemed to have wandered off somewhere, and Amaterasu did not want to think about what mischief he might have found. She hoped he was merely foraging for food, and wouldn't see him running back to her chased by a kalona he was trying to steal from. Slowly, she pushed herself up off the ground to stand on all fours, stretching out her legs and shaking her head to get her mane out of her face. It seemed as if every time she closed her eyes, she dreamed of finding her children again, and Amaterasu decided to take a short walk in an attempt to clear her mind so that she might fall asleep.
She was up in the mountains that were near the forest where she had met the two-legger she'd grown fond of, but had yet to go see if he was still here in Kawani village. She walked farther up the mountain, and up in the distance she saw the silhouette of another soquili, which made her pause in her tracks -- but she could see a horn on the soquili's head, and a tail just like hers, which helped her relax and walk closer to approach the stallion. Another unicorn, just like her -- but no... as her eyes adjusted to see the horn atop his head more clearly, she saw it wasn't like hers at all.
