 Giada had never been one to fall prey to the emotional doldrums, she'd always been the sort of mare that made life interesting. Boredom was the thinkking mare's death, and she knew it. Yet still, here she was. Here she was lifemated to one stallion, and though she truly did love him with all her heart and soul... She'd gotten bored. It was the same day in and day out. Oh, his family drama was interesting but she had no part in it.
With a sigh, the green usdia rolled over onto her back and enjoyed the smell of fresh spring grass and the cool of the just thawing dirt on her hide. Eyes watching the clouds overhead, she giggled and closed her eyes in mock prayer. "Oh great spirits," she pleaded jokingly. "Send me a handsome stallion to play with!"

 Rico sighed, walking slowly. His hooves dug into the soft ground, the smell of budding flowers sifting upwards, flowers that against all odds would fight old man winter. He was lonely, as usual. The sharp stallion had no one to call his, despite his rather numerous .. and fairly persistent attempts at courtship. If not a mate, then perhaps all he needed was a friend to help the time go by. But as he walked along the path he found, he wasn't entirely sure that was possible. For one, no female would go near him. Secondly, he knew he would more than likely flirt in the end.
Closing into the thicker, fresher, and rather alive grass that was coming up, Rico stopped to lightly stare at the fresh patches, taking in the beauty of the coming of Spring. Before he could take another step, his hoofs dug into the soil, pushing him closer to something else. For in the bright green grass lay another beauty. Cocking his head to the side, Rico stared at her, thoughtfully. "Why, what would a beautiful woman such as yourself be doing here? The magic of the coming Spring could take a lesson from you, perhaps that is why you blend so well in it?"

Giada had heard the movement in the grass before she'd spotted the vibrant green to match her own, and then the snatches of white and ruby red to compliment. Ears flicking she stood tall when he adressed him and batted her eyes at him. "Who is to say that you have not come across a nature spirit, and thus I am Spring itself?" Taking a small step forward, she let her short mane and fringe shelter her eyes as she let out a giggle. "Of perhaps I'm talking to a spirit, as I was just praying for a beautiful stallion to keep me company and lo' you appear?"
Not daring to take another step closer, she used the cover of her hair to get a better look at who she was dealing with and was quite pleased indeed. Nothing serious would come of this, she loved Sweet too much, but it was nice to have another to play with that may not take her too seriously. She hoped.

Rico's ears perked up, quite taken by the mare's beauty, and quite shocked at her response to him. He didn't walk closer, just continued to firmly keep his stance onto the soft, fresh grass. He watched her carefully, silent, trying to think of a response that would not seem too desperate of an approach. Something with grace, dignity, and perhaps just a little bit of courage. It was as if she was stepping on the battleground of a war, and for some reason had to attempt to ask the other general out on a tea party. He was not comfortable, but he was desperate.
"Why, I hadn't though of that Ma'am. If you are a sprite of nature, then I must say you are the most beautiful one I could ever hope to meet." He paused, cocking his head to the side. "Beautiful stallion? Me? Why.. I'm but a humbled traveler. Was on the hope for a pint of adventure, but the wind called me here." He stood puzzled, also wondering why he would be beautiful, not handsome, but stayed quiet.
