I love it when my obsessions overlap! heart I'm a regular contributor to a number of doll collecting magazines, and I have it on good authority that Robert Tonner will be releasing 17" figures of the 10th Doctor and Jack Harkness, and a 15 1/2" figure of Rose Tyler in his upcoming line. Now Mr. Tonner is a popular doll designer who has done character figures of Harry Potter and friends (and enemies), the cast of the Narnia and Golden Compass films, and, most recently, Edward and Bella of Twilight. Oh, and his Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribean is just scrummy! (he's upstairs romancing the "ladies" in my collection right now). I'm just this side of mental when it comes to collecting Tonner's dolls, so you can imagine the state I'm in now, wondering if he can actually capture DT's non-orthodox looks properly, is he going to costume him with red or white running shoes, will he come with a little pair of brainy specs, and how in the world do you get a doll's hair to behave like his does? rofl The International Doll Expo is coming up in Orlando, Florida, in a couple weeks. I'm hoping to send spies with cameras. Once I have access to pics of the dolls, I'll post links. Meanwhile, just think of all the fun one could have posing a pair of well-articulated 10 & Rose dolls . . . heart heart heart

Eirwyn I want a 6th Doctor one. biggrin I've actually given semi-serious thought to transplanting the head of one of his stronger female sculpts (FYI, Eirwyn, it's the red head in the 18th century gown) onto a male body and having the face re-painted and the hair re-rooted. would cost a fortune, and not sure if the neck size and skin tone could be made to match. I've been told he's considering doing #9 and #4 if #10 sells.

Eirwyn Get some tiny Beans on Toast. biggrin Don't think the Japanese make erasers shaped like beans on toast. But I did get one shaped like a steamer full of dumplings.

No pictures yet scream , but here's a link to descriptions: ninja http://www.tonnerdoll.com/doctorwho.htmMeanwhile, Rober Tonner's gonna die, even before the pics are up. Why? 1. The Doctor does not come with "brainy specs". emo 2. He is madly expensive, and yet you have to get the overcoat separately (note to self: draft overcoat pattern, using Doctor's son Parys as fitting model . . .) 3. They are releasing Martha as the companion, not Rose. WTF? Everybody knows the fangirls ship Rose! rolleyes On a humorous note, I notice the Doctor is using the standard male body sculpt from the Tonner company, while Captain Jack uses the "Superhero" sculpt. rofl
