So, last night as the Horde was attempting to spank the king of Ironforge, my rogue was feared through one of the closed doors and suddenly, I was in Old Ironforge. It was cool, just exploring it and all that... what really sucked was that I was stuck, I couldn't get back out the door, couldn't target anyone so I could possibly get feared out, auto-unstuck failed miserably and my Hearth was down...

So, in a move of desperation to go kill some more Hordies, I jump in the lava and swim around until I die... I rez outside Ironforge, and wait for the rez sickness to go away... but of course the Horde was done spanking the king, so I went and ran a few Heroics instead.

Has anyone else gotten into Old Ironforge?

What is "Old Ironforge" exactly?

No, Old Ironforge is the a hard one....although I must say getting into Gilneas took some skillz XD

I do it all the time. There is a place under a stairwell that you can duel in ironforge. I duel a priest, mount up before he accepts, and start running to the ledge. You have like 15 seconds, because of the leaving duel area. I have him psychic scream, because it's an instant fear, and bam, old ironforge.

It's what Ironforge was gonna look like, before blizz decided to change it. This happened before the game was released, and being unable to erase entire instances or zones, it was simply moved to a seemingly unreachable location. It is behind a wall in Ironforge, hard to find, you have to glitch through the wall.

Going to Old Ironforge can also warrant a permanent ban for Environmental Exploitation. It is a place that wasn't meant to be available to players, regardless of if it is there or not. As a GM once told me, "If there isn't an obvious and built-in way to get there, you likely shouldn't be there."

Keep that in mind when you're romping about.

Now, see, I've seen plenty a video of Old Ironforge and they did exploit to get in there. Now, I was told that the glitch was fixed, but if it really just happened to you, then I guess it wasn't...

Hum. Now, I've been in the crater beneath Stormwind, and that's some interesting stuffs let me tell you, but not on any of my main characters...

And to that whole GM banning you for exploits... if you got there by no means of your own, it's an accident and you shouldn't be banned for something you didn't plan on doing... Now, going to the duel spot and fearing, then yeah, that's abusing the environment... what I'd like to know is where Old Ironforge is ACTUALLY located, is it BENEATH Ironforge? That'd make the most sense to me.

OH, and you can do the same thing with the duel spot and having a mage sheep you, I think all you have to do is loose control of your character and then you're through.

Yeah I've gotten in there before. Not sure if they removed this glitch but as you go into the city, go over the bridge & take the right hallway. When you get out of the hallway, run into the corner & you can "climb" the corner by jumping up. If you manage to "climb" all the way to the top, you can duel someone. Have a Mage duel you (they have to climb to the top as well). Then run into the King's room. You'll still be dueling as long as you don't run too far away from the mage. Have the mage sheep you in front of the door & if you're lucky enough to wander behind the door while you're sheeped, use your PvP trinket to break the sheep. Viola! Welcome to Old Ironforge!

Assuming that the duel glitch still works of course.

Do this at your own discretion because yes, it is a BANNABLE offense.
