The last of the Winter Snow.

Amitiel was always the kind of creature to seek out adventure and trouble, there was something about the challenge that it brought forth that attracted him. Yet as he flew above the mountains on this slightly chilly of mornings he could not help but feel saddened by the loneliness he felt deep within himself. It has been days since he had actually had contact with another living creature, the freshly fallen snow had seen to that. Even now stray flakes of glistening frozen water fell magnificently to the ground, the twinkled and drifted following the current of air that blew his hair briskly around his face.

Eyes wide as the wind suddenly changed direction Ami felt himself being pulled with it, desperately flapping his wings in an attempt to steady himself, finally he struggled to regain some balance, the feathers bound behind his ears wiggled as he sensed the arrival of stronger wings around him, reluctantly he headed towards the snow covered ground. The land of white seemed endless and barren below him as he began to plummet gracefully to the ground, spreading his wings out wide he began to sore upon the steading current and turrets of wind, before finally his hooves touched down on the soft white snow. Immediately the snow below his hooves melted, he sighed softly, it seemed he was not made for such a world of wintery white. Several soft flakes covered his pelt before melting to form droplets of water that soon ran down his back and dropped off.

Walking in no particular direction Ami examined the world he had been forced to settle in, perhaps here would present him with his next challenge?

User Image Farsiris was comfortable with her life and had adjusted well to the notion that she was now in the loving embrace of a stallion. She'd never anticipated that she would ever find such a fairytale romance but as her mother had said, the world worked in strange ways and the spirits always had their reasons for behaving in a peculiar manner. It didn't have to make sense provided you were willing to accept these changes and embrace them accordingly. It had been on that faithful day when she had tentatively explored the lowlands that she had met him and she'd never looked back since - he was her Prince Charming and in the dead of winter he had come to her to profess his love.

Still, Winter was fastly fading against the approaching shift in season - the Spring Equinox lay upon the horizon and it spurred the young mare on. There would be no more 'hibernating', snuggled up in her cave with her mate whose coat was simply not suitable for this region. While he slept peacefully, she would drift out and explore. This was exactly what she had done and now she waded through the snow upon the slopes with sufficient ease. She'd lived here long enough, knew all the routes and the tricks to ensuring safe passage.

However, she was exploring with purpose this time - she wasn't en-route to uncover a secret treasure and was instead on the hunt for more viable living quarters for her mate and she to live in. Somewhere further down the slopes, somewhere that would be more accessible for him and his family - she had no desire to prevent him from ever returning to the lowlands. He'd declared that he was happy to go where she chose to but she knew that relationships were about compromise... Thus, while she had smiled appreciatively at the gesture she had already decided that she would show him that she had many of the same feelings. She would be happy to live further down the slopes and that way they had access to both areas!

A soft smile lined her lips and the petite mare gave the occasional hop over thicker patches of snow as she progressed through the 'fluffy' and chilled substance. All in all this morning had been enjoyable and there were signs that this afternoon would be equally as pleasant. Well, the weather would make her search easier that was for sure.

That being said with her lack of wings she remained unaware of the problematic turbulence above her head and as Amitiel came to land she was equally as oblivious. She was accustomed to seeing the winged stallions and mares of Islagiatt flitting back and forth across the slopes so another really didn't strike her as odd...

Amitiel shook his wings softly in an effort to get rid of any stray flakes of snow that had settled. His eyes looked almost lazily around his environment, the trees seemed thin on the slop, yet there was a peaceful clam here that intrigued him. That was when his eyes lay upon a creature of similar colour to the trees gnarled trunks bar for the white and black that distinguished her features. His eyes squinted for a moment as he took him her details, he was almost certain that it was a mare; the figure was light and delicate.

Drawing his wings tight into his sides he looked to the horizon for a moment, it seemed he would be here for a while. Opportunity, that was one thing that Amitiel could never resist, and now would be the opportunity to know if he could find the truth speaker he was searching for. Taking a deep breath he placed a soft smile upon his face and started towards her. There was something about the wingless soquili that interested him, the unicorns especially with their unique ability for healing themselves and others. Surely anyone with such ability would be naturally pure of heart, yet Amitiel had only ever found himself observing from the shadows, never really encountering them in fear of being judged himself. He had met many uni-cross breeds, as well as many other breeds but never a pure unicorn.

As he approached Amitiel lowered his body slightly into a boy, attempting as always to appear the gentleman. He spoke, his voice soft yet surprisingly strong. "Good day for a walk fair lady."

Farsiris came from a large family, adopted into the Islagiatt as a foal. She knew nothing of her past save for what her adoptive mother had told her. However, while there would be those who sought answers regarding their history she was content with what she had. Her home and family had given her no reason to seek out any other answer than she had already received... In truth her history was a complex state of affairs but given it's nature the only one who knew the full extent had long chosen to remain silent regarding it. She knew nothing of this though and as fate would have it she went about her days in a peaceful manner.

Her desires, aspirations and goals were decidedly mundane in comparison to other soquili. She aspired to have a family, to be safe and to be loved - she sought out no amazing adventures. No - she was more than content to remain in the embrace of her mate and live in her own world. This afternoon was a little different though and as the angeni approached her at a steady pace she tilted her head to the side curiously. Angeni were not foreign in these lands and one in particular had always remained very prominent - thus, she wasn't startled by his existence at the very least... Nor was she terribly awed by it either. She wasn't being deliberately rude in her lack of admiration, but in a herd with such a variation of soquili it was hard not to have encountered one of nearly every sort of being (Skinwalkers aside of course).

"I can't complain," she replied agreeably as he dropped to a bow. He was a tall creature, rivalling some of the tallest of the herd in size. This wasn't terribly hard though given that Farsiris was most definitely tiny. Still, his kind regard and equally polite manner one her over and consequently she returned his gesture with an equally warm smile. If she chose to bow she would most likely become lost in most of the snow, thus she took the more simple way out.

"With the spirits beginning to awaken from their slumber the days are becoming more pleasant," she added after a few moments. Perhaps it was a conversation starter but only a few weeks ago this territory had been subject to almost blizzard like conditions - she wasn't sure about the slopes to the north, but it had been rather cold here!
