Well, well, well. It looked like one of Rachel's previous students was actually to be returning to him. Adhara - one of the tentacle bearing children he'd taught before - had grown a bit and now was to have another class with him. Today, instead of in his usual classroom, the man was situated outside. They'd have a flying lesson today and he was actually rather excited to teach. Adhara had been a decently behaved child and her wings would probably be big enough to work for this. Meaning he probably wouldn't have to threaten to drop her, and the lesson might go decently smooth.

Adhara's wings fluttered in excitement as she walked back to the Facility, dressed in that same cherry dress she'd been wearing since she'd gotten bigger; yes, it did get washed. Her tentacles seemed almost agitated, given there was no one near them at the moment, and they'd been full of more energy than they really wanted to have, now that Adhara was big enough to do things for herself. So, they were wringing between each other, in a way similar to when a nervous person wrings their hands.
She was back to see Rachel, and she jumped happily when he came into sight, despite the facility being there as well. She skipped up to him with a bright smile on her face and waved happily. "Hi, Rachel! It's nice to see you again," she said, trying to ignore the fact that both Reena and Niita were grabbing for affection.

Rachel smiled lightly at the girl. "Hallo, Adhara, you look nice today. I take it growing has treated you well?" he offered, patting her tentacles in a light, reassuring way. The man seemed to be loosening up the longer he taught at this place - huh.

Adhara chuckled a bit at the compliment, though she was starting to get used to such things. Perhaps not compliments, but strange reactions of different people, both at home, and at her school, and various other places. She was getting more and more attention the bigger she got. She nodded rapidly in response to the question. "MmHmm! I'm happy that I got bigger, too," she noted, stretching out her wings in a semi-prideful matter, glancing back at them. Rather than simply growing, they'd also gained more maturity as far as their shape and the girl's control of them. She smiled brightly at Rachel once again and, as the Diligence child she was, got straight to the point. "So... you're gon'na teach me to fly, huh?"

"Yes. It's what my old job used to be." the man explained. "I think we can start in the sky and you can work on flying and gliding from there. And practice landings. I always think it's better for some to learn landings before they learn how to get airbourne from the start."

"Really?" Adhi asked of the first statement, eyes widening slightly before she smiled at the thought. "That must'a been a really fun job, huh? If I learned how t'fly, do you think I could teach other people how to, too?" Adhara asked, her speech a bit muddled together. Her tentacles seemed sated by the few pets they'd gotten, and settled to wrapping themselves around Adhara's waist, knowing that she was going to try flying, and, as such, they would get in the way or manage to get hurt in the process, which would not be good. She stretched her wings out, working the few cramps from them being pressed against her back, before realizing what had been said.
"Start in the sky...?" she questioned slowly, tipping her head to the side, eyebrows knitting in confusion. How would she 'start in the sky' and then learn to fly after that. Somehow, this man wasn't making much sense, which was different than in the last class. "How does that work? Like, do we hafta go up high, or somethin'?" she asked, trying to figure out exactly what was meant by 'starting in the sky'.

"Actually it was terrible and annoying. Half the time students didn't want to cooperate and most of them were extremely lazy. I had to threaten to drop people on many occasions to get them to do it." he explained, semi annoyed at the memories. "Well, if you could find students, probably. I've only had two teach two other people besides yourself this while I was here."
Rachel smiled slightly at her second question. "Yes, you could stay that. I'll be taking you up so you can get used to being in the air."

Adhara giggled a little at the description of some of Rachel's other students, though she wouldn't be very fond if someone threatened to drop her. Then again, she already knew that she could glide, if worst came to worst. Maybe the other kids hadn't known how to do that? "Oh, right, um- I learned how to glide from high-up places when I was really little. Will that help?" she asked, hoping that that would mean she wouldn't be dropped during said lesson, or that she could start learning how to fly... sooner. That would be a good thing, given she was not at all a patient child.
She stretched her wings out, looking back at them once more, and then back at her teacher. "Does that mean that you're going to fly me up...?" she asked curiously, not really sure about being lifted into the air by another person. Wouldn't it be difficult to lift two bodies in the air with one set of wings, though...?

"Well, it will help you get down in the end without hurting yourself too much. Provided you actually follow directions and work at it, there wont' be any need for you to have to be dropped or anything of the kind." the man explained.
"Yes, I shall be flying you up, as you put it. My wings are particularly strong and I'm physically trained enough to be able to hold a teenager and an almost full grown dragon in the air so you won't be that difficult."

Adhara smiled brightly at the replies from the man, nodding with each point made. "Don't worry, I'll follow directions," she said, obviously happy to comply. She didn't mind directions, as long as they weren't too harsh; like, she could do things that her teachers told her to do, but wouldn't be able to follow directions of things not to do, like not standing up in class when she was finished with everything they'd had to do. Stupid school-teachers had rules that didn't make sense. Rachel didn't seem to do that, if their last lesson was anything to go by.
"Alright, so, um..." she mumbled a bit to herself, tentacles unwinding from their clingy position around her waist, and she lifted her arms, wings lifting a bit as well. She glanced back up at Rachel and gave an awkward smile. "I'm ready?"

Rachel carefully put his hands on either side of the girl's hips, holding her so she was facing him (otherwise he'd be in the way of her wings) and spread his own wings. They were huge and powerful and a few very strong beats was all it took to get them both high into the air.
"You might wanna watch the ground as we go up so it's not as big of a surprise to you at the top." He warned.

As would be expected of most people, the girl's tentacles immediately latched themselves around Rachel's arms, as though not trusting his grip to be tight enough, as though he would end up dropping them despite his ability to lift the three in the air. Adhara pulled her wings in a bit, hands taking hold of Rachel's shoulders, a bit anxious about this sort of thing. However, she'd glided before, so she knew that she wasn't going to just crash to the ground.
She nodded a few times at the advice, watching as they were lifted slowly off the ground, her feet dangling a bit uselessly beneath her body. An irrepressible smile rose on her face and she bit her lip softly, wings fluttering a bit in the gentle wind that was found in the higher air compared to that on the ground. As soon as their position seemed about as high as they were going to get, she let herself look away from the ground and toward her teacher, wings flapping gently, though it wouldn't be enough to keep her in flight; simply trying to get them used to movement more than stretching. "What now?"

Rachel smiled a bit, "well firstly, you can relax a bit. As I said, I won't drop you. Secondly, once your wings are ready, start beating them till you feel you have enough lift to keep yourself aloft or pull out of my arms. I'll let you go when you're able to hold yourself up and make sure you don't fall, but you'll have to make sure to maintain the speed and strength in your wingbeats or you'll start to plummet."

Adhara chuckled a bit at the comment about relaxing, removing one of her hands and tapping her tentacles in turn. "Reena, Niita, you two can let go now," she whispered to them, though they tightened around Rachel's waist for a moment, before slowly letting go, instead wrapping tightly around each other. Without the extra support in the air, it felt a little strange, if not sort of frightening. "Sorry, Rachel. Still don't have the best control of them, though I am getting better." She smiled and nodded a bit at his instructions, looking down to the ground for a moment, judging the distance between that and herself, before looking back at her wings and slowly starting to pump them up and down.
In a few moments, she started beating them harder in the air, her body rising and falling a bit awkwardly, as she hadn't gotten it completely perfect yet. With a soft smile, she nodded to her teacher. "Alright, I think you can let go now." As soon as the support was gone, her body tensed slightly as she dropped a few feet in altitude very quickly, her wings beating the air fervently to gain the altitude back. Her tentacles were practically trying to strangle each other at this point, and she was still lifting and falling with each beat of her wings. Despite all that, a bright, wide smile crossed her face. She was actually flying!!

Rachel lowered himself in the air to keep a watch over her, making sure the girl didn't fall. "Very good, very good, just keep it up and maybe pick up the pace a bit. If you need to rest, you can come back to me and I'll hold you for a moment or two so you don't have to land in between."
