For once, a certain blue stallion was not running through the plains or around the clearing like a crazy horse. No, he'd finally slowed to a trot at this point, not too far away from the encampment but still on the other side of the river. How he'd wound up there, so far from his usual haunts, really was a mystery. Well, it would be if he wasn't so prone to zoning out and running for miles and miles on end. It was likely he'd pounded through the cold river water without even noticing. Shaking out his mane, he lowered his head to the frigid liquid as it continued to flow, even full of ice. Dipping the tip of his muzzle in to drink, he couldn't help but shiver at the feeling his his mouth. Still, Nakawara was rather fond of the cold.
Standing straight and glancing around, he debated moving back across the river at this point. There wasn't as much room to let loose on this side. Not to say he couldn't get a good run out of the land. He would just have to turn around sooner than he was used to. Hm. Canting his head, he began to move away from the river rather than across it. Why not explore a little bit. It's not like he had the opportunity to get acquainted with this side of the water very often.

Light sky blue eyes peered from beneath brown bangs with an odd streak of brown in them. The young brown filly trotted lightly through the tall grass, a smile glowing on her face. The sky was a soft baby blue with not a cloud in sight. No doubt it would be a wonderful night for stargazing later on. Though the temperature was rather cold, it was quite tolerable with the snow from the week before melted without a trace. Nice weather did always make people naturally happy, didn't they? She twitched her ears at the sound of the rush of a river somewhere to her right. She blinked, she hadn't heard of a river over here. She most have wondered from her home by the beach farther then she had originally though. Ah well, there was no use worrying about it now. There was a whole afternoon in front of her to enjoy till she was expected back home.
She fanned out her raven black wings thoughtfully. What a pity she hadn't learned yet to learn them because none of the soquilis she lived with actually had any wings. Big brother had said that he might find a flying mentor for her, but no doubt he had forgotten. But the ground was worth exploring with the deprivement of flight from her. She smiled at the thought of seeing new things.
A dark blue shape in the distance stood up from the grassy plains. Astraea blinked, what was it? The shape seemed to come steadily closer until she could make out that it was a dark blue stallion. A stranger! Big brother had always said that strangers ought to be treated with caution...but then again, she hadn't met any strangers as of yet and she doubted that big brother had either. Curiosity grew in her eyes as the figure continued to approach.
