THE GRAVEYARD FIELD!
The stadium ceiling is shut tight in the particular field selection, covering the entire inner area of the stadium in a veil of pure darkness; one that even the Flash technique cannot break through. Grave stones of various types (ranging from crosses to a sculpture of the deceased) were scattered across the lifeless soil; some were still whole while many stood broken and unattended. Near the northern end of the battle field, a single withered tree stands hunched over as though in constant mourning of those who rest for eternity here. A dense fog weaves in and out of the headstones and hinders vision even more. The fog itself seems damp and heavy, like the tears of the living mourning for the lost. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GHOST type attacks.

"Eurgh," Renekai said out loud, peering into the darkness. "This was not exactly the field that I was hoping for. But oh well... I guess that we'll have to make due..."
The young trainer took out two pokeballs, then tried again to see the other side of the field. "I can't tell if they're there yet," she murmured. "Hello?" she shouted. "Are you ready?"
In her hand, one pokeball started wiggling with excitement. The other one jiggled slightly, but without enthusiasm. Without needing to look, Renekai knew which two had done it. Anima was always energetic, and was probably bouncing around in there. Evelyn didn't much like battling, except when the reward was food.

LizDuck could feel a shiver go down her spine. This field wasn't a very pretty one. In fact, it was absolutely dreadful. The only thing that could make the field bearable was if there had been a spotlight to shine on her Pokemon.
Bob wasn't exactly thrilled either. The little Balloon Pokemon was simply there to watch, and was currently clinging onto her trainer's ankles.
Reaching into her apron's two pockets, the idol pulled out a Pokeball from each. Tossing them up, she called out two names: "Kryptonite, Midnight, it's time for you to steal the show!"
In front of her, two eevees of identical appearance appeared. Even with them so close, it was hard to see their silvery fur perfectly. At the same time, the two asked "Vee?" and tilted their heads, Kryptonite towards the right and Midnight towards the left.
Lizduck smiled. She had wanted to test out their ability to work together in a battle for the longest time, seeing as the two were inseparable. And now she was doing that. Fortunately, she had battled this trainer once before, and she knew the girl was friendly and a tough opponent. "Do your best, you two!"

"Hmm..." Renekai said, pondering her choice carefully. Anima or Evelyn? "Okay!" she called. "If you win, you get a basketful of berries! Go, Evelyn!" Renekai held up the pokeball high and momentarily saw through the darkness in the red light.
The teddiursa blinked into the darkness. It smelled musty. No food here! She sneezed. But she would win, for the berries!

The trainer leaned over and patted both of her Eevees on the head.
"Okay, Kryptonite, I'm going to have you go first. Midnight, I want you to watch on the side and remain on standby."
Both Eevees nodded, and one ran forward into the darkness. The eldest of the Pokemon wandered and wandered and wandered forward for a while, looking at his paws as they got ridiculously dirty. At least it felt that way. However, he soon enough spotted the shape of another Pokemon. He called out a simple "Eve!" to let his trainer know.
"Good," she called out somewhat blindly. She couldn't see what was going on really, but she hoped that meant Kryptonite found his opponent.
"Let's start this off with a simple Yawn, okay?"
The Eevee remained where he was, but he let out a bit of a yawn. It was louder than the usual one, only because he figured that they were in the dark and the other Pokemon really couldn't see his yawn. Hopefully hearing a yawn had the same effect as seeing one...

What was that? It sounded like syrup pouring on waffles... Evelyn had to swallow her saliva before it came out as drool. In any case, it didn't make her sleepy!
"Evelyn, use Rock Smash!" Renekai called, yawning sleepily.
Evelyn used her claws to dig up a meek pile of damp ground. A plastic finger bone poked from the pile. Sniffing the air to locate her opponent, Evelyn hurled the mass in what she hoped was the right direction.

Kryptonite was a bit disappointed. His yawn didn't do much of anything. In fact, it made himself a bit more sleepy than he should have been. Phooey! And to make matters worse, something had been thrown at him in the dark. Not being able to see the small pile of dirt thrown at him, he got bonked on the head with the plastic bone. "Eevee!" he squeaked in discomfort.
Midnight stood eagerly listening and winced as if he had felt the pain too. Bob was too busy trembling in her spot at her trainer's ankles to care about her team mates getting injured.
"Ummm... Hmmm....?" This was tricky. It was hard for her to tell what would work well in this darkness.
"Kryptonite... let's see if you can Tickle something good into this situation!" At LizDuck's feet, she saw the twin's brother look up and smile in approval.
Almost an identical image of his brother, Kryptonite was smiling with a wagging tail. That sounded like FUN! Sniffing the air a bit, he followed his nose a bit and eventually bumped into his opponent. Immediately, he began his tickling assault, using his tail as if it were a feather. He tickled this way and that, not certain what he was tickling, but he didn't mind. As long as it was doing something to make this battle easier.

Evelyn started giggling. That tickled! Stop that! She squirmed away, narrowly avoiding hitting a tombstone. At least she got away from that tickly tail!
"Bulk Up!" Renekai called.
Evelyn puffed up her fur as high as it would go and inhaled deeply. Just feeling herself grow larger made her attack return to normal!

At least the last move Kryptonite had used cheered up his spirits a bit. The Eevee smiled and couldn't help letting out a bit of a giggle himself: "Vee vee vee!!" However, on the other side of the room, LizDuck could hear the command and knew their efforts had just been in vain.
"Well, no time like now to attack I suppose..." the idol sighed. "Kryptonite, go ahead and use Quick attack!"
With a quick nod, the elder of the Eevee twins ran towards the other Pokemon as quickly as his little feet could carry him. It was almost like tackling the other, but you had to run really fast!
Too bad it was too dark still. Rather than hitting the opponent, Kryptonite just ended up running right past the Teddiursa.

Renekai gave a sigh of relief when the attack missed. "Okay, Evelyn! Rock Smash and lots of honey for you!"
Evelyn reared up with a new energy. HONEY! She lumbered up to Kryptonite with one paw balled into a fist. With strength enough to crush a rock, she threw the punch at the Eevee.

Kryptonite was just having a bad day it would seem. First he was tossed into a battle with extremely dirty floors. Then all his attempts at battling were failing miserably. And now he was getting pummeled by a Teddy bear!! With a rather loud "KLUNK" to the head, the Eevee was knocked back and fell on the floor. "Eeevee....." he seemed to groan out a bit. He'd definitely be feeling that one tomorrow.
From where LizDuck was at, it was hard to tell what had happened. She heard a loud sound. Maybe that meant Kryptonite had hit the other Pokemon with that quick attack? Smiling cluelessly, she reassured the Eevee's younger brother. "See, he's doing a good job!"
Midnight didn't quite seem convinced of this.
"Kryptonite, another Quick attack!" the trainer called out confidently.
The silvery Eevee on the battle field got back up to his feet and once more charged towards the Teddiursa. This time he headed towards where he had received the klunk to the head.

Evelyn growled as she was hit. That hurt... But then she remembered the berries and honey that were sure to come and was reassured. She sniffed the dank air, trying to find where Kryptonite had gone.
"Brick Break!" Renekai called.
The bear pokemon suddenly lunged forward, swinging her clawed paws wildly. She hoped that this was the right direction!

The Teddiursa hit, and boy did it pack a punch! Kryptonite got knocked back, but landed on his feet. His body was quite tense now. This definitely wasn't showing his brother that he was any good at battling.
LizDuck squinted her eyes, nervously trying to see what was happening. She could hear a bit of tussling, so it meant that somebody was getting beaten up. Standing on even her tip toes and leaning as far out of her little trainer box as she could, she saw nothing. "Ummm... let's give that Quick Attack one more go?" This definitely wasn't her field.
"Vee!" Midnight cheered on from the box, hoping his calls of encouragement would help the battle a bit.
The elder Eevee took in a deep breath. He was feeling quite beat, but he had to do as asked. Once more, he ran at the bear-Pokemon at his top speed and this time attempted to trip the little Teddiursa up. At least, he thought that was its feet, it was really hard to tell in this darkness.

"Brick Break!" Renekai called again.
Evelyn charged around, trying to hit the eevee that had just run into her. This was getting difficult... But she still felt strong enough to go on. "Teddi!" she grunted, throwing her formidable weight forward.
