Winter was a good time, despite the fact that the sky was full of gray and threatening clouds. After all, it made for perfect running conditions. Even if the snow was thick and blocking his path, he was always ready to keep going. Overheating didn't happen as often and when his muscles began to complain after hours and hours, the sometimes frigid temperature tended to numb them into submission. Maybe it wasn't the healthiest of things, but heck, he loved it! Stomping down hard, Nakawara kicked up quite a fair share of fresh powder, laughing as it swooshed against his flank and melted almost immediately. After a bit more colt-like frolicking, he took off in a full-fledged run, zooming through the snowy field as fast as his already worn legs would take him. Running was really the only thing the less than intelligent and not overly interesting male was good at. Even if he was only slightly above average in comparison to most horses, he still felt proud of himself when he took the time to actually care. Most of the time, his mind was blank as he galloped along.

The poor snow didn't stand a chance. Everywhere, today, by many different creatures, it seemed to be getting kicked and thrown around without a care in the world. But that didn't ever occur to Klei, nor would he care if it did. His daily routine kicked in and he was out and about puffing heavily. His goggles where atop his nose, protecting his eyes from the crisp winter air.
Running to a non existent musical beat he pounded the ground in each stride, kicking up snow each time. Most of the powdered snow splashed over him while some landed in his mane and tail, being perfectly camouflaged in the pure white hair. Every so often Klei shook, shaking the snow build up off of him and back to where it belonged.
The cold snow felt good running through though. Winter beat summer any day! For what it mattered. The heat was to unbearable, with the sun constantly beating down on you. Even the shady spots were hot! The cold that winter brought was only to sweet. Klei couldn't love it any more then he was already.

Lost in a run and probably miles from his starting point now, it was only the onslaught of slight fatigue that had Nakawara moving slow enough to catch sight of the wild display in the distance. Blinking the cold snow from his eyes--having not been blessed with as useful accessories as some--he stared out. It didn't take long to realize that whoever it was, they were moving fast and getting closer with each passing second. That pace and that drive... it didn't take much thought for the blue stallion to dub this one a kindred spirit. A great smile split his lips as he too proceeded forward once more, closing the gap between them with a quickness. Maybe he could even challenge this one to a race! It had been a long time since he had a good one. Usually he just ran alone, although it was never as fun. Either way, he was sociable enough to be happy with the idea of company on its own.

The white powder looked a shade of purplish-pink behind tinted frames. Keeping focus more towards what's oncoming them to what's passing Klei looked forward, eye's locked onto a prize that doesn't exist. Though that didn't last for long. A large figure broke the endless trail of purplish-pink snow, shadowing it with only a darker purplish-pink figure. The two were far enough apart that Klei was able to see what it was without the fear of crashing and he noticed that the figure was running towards him.
With his stride unbroken he charged on, eyes focused on the stallion he figured it to be. As he puffed heavily his mouth grew to an open smirk. He was going to continue running towards (at) the male. A game of chicken; to see who would break their path first, before crashing into the other. "You better keep a sharp eye my friend! For if one of us doesn't turn, god knows we'll collide!" Klei shouted, still with a smirk on his face. Though if both of us turn, lets just hope it's in different directions... he secondly thought to himself. Even though Klei was originally running in solitude doesn't mean that he can't start random games in the mean time!

Even with the wind whistling madly at his ears, the runner was able to catch the shout. True challenge or not, Klei was not the only one up for random games. Though it seemed impossible, the navy-coated male's lips split into a wider grin, which only waned when the snow began to sting at his heated gums. "I'll keep goin' 'til the end!" Nakawara called back, certainty evident in his voice even as he strained to speak against the gust.
Leaning forward, he pushed his well-worn form, willing it faster just for now, just a few more seconds, just until the game was through. They were mere feet from each other now, there wasn't much time to think of anything but speed. What little common sense he had was forced to kick and scream, rattling around in his skull until the stallion finally tossed his head to the side. One leg locked, pushing his form to the right with what seemed like only inches to spare. The braids of his mane whipped at his face, pinching a bit as the small ties met skin. And, with hair flying every which way, he could hardly tell what his opponent had chosen to do.
Regardless, he felt his form shifting awkwardly. He was very close to losing it. Perhaps he really had been too tired for this. Both front legs jumped from the turn, keeping him semi-reared momentarily before hooves came slamming heavily back into the snow.
