Okay. Out of sheer boredom, I was going through my Newtype DVDs and played through all the preview episodes on them. The latest one I watched was episode 1 or Boogiepop Phantom, and I must say: "Whaaaaah?"
Discuss it's weirdness.

I never saw enough of that series to really be a witness to any true weirdness. But, um, it seemed pretty strange.

Seraphim Call I'm too scared to watch it. gonk It is scary. It's like, there's this one girl, and she's being all sad and philosophical about her friend's ex-boyfriend, and then in the last three minutes comes some body-snatcher thing disguised as the guy who tries to eat her but it can't because some costumed guy/girl/thing threw a needle through it's head. I liked it.
It's like Serial Experiments Lain in that nothing really makes complete sense until the very end.

I've been living off my Newtype dvds for a while now, but I don't think I have that issue. I have heard about it's weirdness though, maybe I should check it out.

Sir Ichigo I liked it. It's like Serial Experiments Lain in that nothing really makes complete sense until the very end. I never said it was a bad thing, I just said it was weird. Interesting enough to make me want more, at least . . .

I saw it in its entirety. It never did make much sense to me, but for some reason I could not stop watching it. The best that I can make of it is that Toka Miashita is Boogiepop, aka "the angel of death." Somehow in response to a five year old girl who looks like she is 12, and has butterflies that are actually memories, Boogiepop Phantom was born. It seems as though her mission was to destroy the girl which she does. Then the phantom disappeares. I still cannot figure out what the rest of the stuff has to do with anything.
