"I don't know!" Divintra responded in irritation. A misty form with feather like wings flickered around his ears, then futtered right before his nose. Divintra stopped to look at the drow shaped creature, with her mouse ears and tail.
"You know..I liked you better before I could hear you."
The creature places it's hands on it's hips and gave hin a scowling look.
"Oh please don't start this up again! I'm not interested! Let's just..go..."
Divintra dismissed the creature with a wave of his hand and stepped around her to continue on. Lin flew along beside him. her hands gestureing before them.
"I'm not too sure. I only saw it for a couple of seconds. But it was definatly this area. There was a glint of light in one of the allies. Normally if there is a glint I've learned that is the thing I'm supposed to be paying attention to."

The first thing Valin noticed when she came to her senses was that her pain had lessened considerably. Whether that was from Scythra's venom or the fact that her brain might just not have registered it yet she was grateful, though when she shifted to look down at herself her gratefulness vanished quickly. Firstly, the act of moving wracked her body with the pain she thought had gone, secondly, the sight of her mother's sword, the very sword she had searched for for so long, protruding from her right ribcage sent her head spinning.
She forced herself to try sitting up but her arms had not the strength to hold her and she merely fell over sideways to lean again a wall that was somehow next to her. It was then that she let her weary eyes try to look around, realizing that she was no longer within the House of Piranor, but in the back corner of some sort of alley. Ironically it was the alley next to the smithy where her mother and Tarien had been slain, a little frequented and dillapidated part of the city.
A groan escaped her lips, though they did not want to form the sound, the blood that had dabbled from them before now dried and uncomfortable feeling at the movement. Not that there was anything she could do about it. She couldn't scream again if she wanted to, only try little by little to sit herself up again in the sludge that was underneath her. Half of it was blood, the other half could have been someone's vomit, though if it was Valin's or someone else's she did not know.

It took Divintra a bit to recognise the area from his flash of a vision. Lin fluttering around was more of a hinderance then a help too. Often he batted at the Mist mousegirl until she, in a huff, slipped into his messengerbag to sulk. He hated making her upset but she really was not being a help!
There! Divintra glanced down a darkened path and felt a echo of familarity. He began to walk down it. His eyes squirnting in the deeper darkness. The flash had been towards the end...
A soft groan caused him to freeze in his steps.
"H-hello?" He called out hesitantly.

A voice from out of the darkness made Valin open her eyes a little more, wishing she had a water scource near to call her concealing mists to her. She could imagine the kind of Drow who would be around an alley like this and she had no want to meet one. Keeping herself from groaning again as she finally got herself propped up and sitting with her back against the grime-filled wall.
She could pretend to already be dead if they continued to venture towards her, but how would she stop them from taking her sword? Her hand twitched to reach for the handle and she gasped, the shifting of the blade in her ribcage when her arm lifted over it causing more pain than she could in to dig into her side. A whimper escaped her and she let her head fall back against the wall, not bothering to hide herself anymore. If she was going to die anyways like this what could another do to her? She'd probably paus out as soon as they removed the sword anyways.
Her mouth opened to tell whoever it was to go away, and she managed a hoarse, "Away, leave." She twitched her fingers in search of moisture, but found only blood in her immediate viscinity. Reaching out further, she felt a familiar peice of substance, not one she could control, something that she had at one time, though. Her eyes clouded confusedly as she tried to remember who might have something she had once been able to form. "Who-?" she started, trying to make her voice louder only to suck in too much air and gasp again in pain as her ribs felt like they were going to explode.

He heardpained mumblings. Sometimes he wished he had better control of his powers so that he could have gotten more information from his Vision. Divintra hesitated, his hand slipping towards his messenger bag as doubt slowed his steps.
Lin darted out from the bag. her small form zipping around his head like a whirlwind of fluttery grey wind. She continued on, zipping the rest of the way to the end of the ally to hover and bob close to Valin. her hands gesntureing wildly even as Divintra winced from further away.
"Lin! Your thinking too fast." He protested. But he get enough of it to make himself resume approching. Valin. it was hard not to catch that name... Peering down upon her, Divintra felt like he was in a state of shock. She was hurt, and rather badly too. Looking at the sword he wondered...just what should he do? He had no potions and he could not heal...
"Valin? You...you still alive?"

The little flurry of mist darting about in front of her face began to hurt Valin's eyes, but she took that as a welcome distraction from the rest of the pain her body was in. It was definitely familiar and something she had made for an important reason. Her mind was just too fuzzy and confused to remember what that reason or the being or the person she gave the being to was.
Her name being said made her look up at the Drow who had followed after the little mist being, her eyes registering the pale skin and purple eyes. She knew who it was, who were they? The scene from the inn flashed through her mind and she tried to sit up further, wincing, but needing to wake herself up more as she remembered that the Drow in front of her was freindly. At least he had seemed so when she had parted ways.
"Div-Divintra?" she asked, clearing her throat only to cough a little and spit out more blood, "What are you do-doing here?" Obviously she was still alive or she would have tried answering his question. Maybe she should answer it anyways, in case he began to think she was some contraption a Necromancer put together. "It feels... I'm dead, but I think... Alive," she said, her strength beginning to fade again as her wounds were reopened by her movements.

When he reached the end of the way, Divintra felt a sense of dismay. It was easy enough to recognise Valin, even if he did not have Lin fluttering about her like a annoying pest. It seemed as if she had been jumped by one of the types that she had managed to save him from. It was this that dismayed Divintra. He did not like to think that there was a attacker out there that had proven stronger or more cunning then Valin with her mists. She seemed to be in bad shape too.
Divintra slowly knelt down to look at Valins wounds. She had blood all around her neck and the sword wound, obviously... "I..ah..." Divintra supposed he could tell her he saw her in a dream. But that would bring up all sorts of questions he did not want to answer right now. Such as...why just this and not what happened to her? "I...told d come look for you if I ever came this way again." Divintra pulled his lips into a false smile. At a time like this he did not feel like smileing at -all-.
Judging by her wounds he'd do more harm then good if he tried to carry her far. He wasn't even a trained healer! "I...God..." His head shook a little as he knelt down to get a bit closer to Valin. " I'm going to see if there is a empoty building I can take you into. I don't think I could safely get you back into the city, then I'll see about patching up your wounds.... I don't think I should take that sword out until I have something to staunch the wound. Just....don't move around much okay?"

She only nodded, feeling her mind grow fuzzy again as her eyes began to close. Sleep was not something she would willingly drop into, though, forcing herself to watch Lin dart around as she tried to remember what had happened that she wound up in this place.
Scythra, her grand Matron. Her grand Matron was now dead and decapitated by her own daughter's sword at the hands of her granddaughter. Scythra, Valin's cousin. How had she gotten hold of the sword? The sword!? She knew it was already so, but she had to look again. Her mother's sword sticking out of her side as if she were merely some doll with a pin in it, now that was a sight to see, only Valin had to feel it as well.
Her goal was to find her mother's sword so that her sheath and herself would not be empty anymore. By some twisted Spider Queen's veiw she had found the sword, only to have her pride sheathed in the scabbard, and the sword sheathed in herself. She would have muttered 'very funny', but found she lacked the humor to do so.
All she could do now was wait for Divintra to return, hopefully having found some resting place away from this filthy alley. Her eyes lifted to try and peer out of the alley. It didn't seem like he would find anything here, only a smithy missing it's door and... Valin tried not to groan again and instead let out a wry laugh, finding some humor at her own ironic position afterall.

Lin did not want tl leave Valin, but as she could not willingly be seperated from Divintra she ended up fluttering down the ally after him as he jogged off. He knew he needed to hurry. But he did not know thie place so well, and to run off blindly would mean risking loseing himself. Or running into some ruffians that would put him in the same position as Valin was now.
A vacant smithy seemed perfect and it was only a short distance away. Divintra poked around within first, to ensure no dangerouse creatures had nested within, and to make certain there were no signs of other inhabitants. he supposed it's location did not really encourage others to move in. The place had dust every where, and the furniture was pretty badly smashed up.
Divintra took his messenger bag off and looped it over a hook on the wall. Picking up a broken board of wood, he cleared a path from the door to the back of the smithy. There was rope...but it looked to be too badly freyed to serve as a strong tie. He did not wish to leave Valin alone in the ally much longer, so he decided he had done all that he could thus far.
Before returning to her, Divintra paused long enough to remove his vest and shirt. She had a lot of blood on her and he did not wish to risk getting it on his best cloths. Stuffing his tops into his messenger bag, he jogged back to where Valin lay, led by the fluttering Lin. He knelt down beside her, and grimanced at the sight of the sword.
"Valin? Valin are you still awake? I'm going to have to tear some of your dress off. I need something to put in the hole when I pull the sword out and thats the best I can think of right now...okay?"

Without Lin to distract her Valin had fallen into a light dose, blinking her doe eyes open again only after Divintra called hername. She nodded at the question of her dress and forced herself to sit further up. Determined not to lose hold of the sword she reached her arm up to clutch the hilt, grunting at the pain that shot through her side as she did so, the muscles in her hand cramping quickly around the hilt as she squeezed it tight.
She would pull the sword out herself if she had to, after all it wasn't like she could walk to whatever resting place there might be with a sword sticking out of her. Granted she didn't have the strength to remain sitting much longer nevertheless walk anyplace. But her mother's sword was in her hand now, which meant that she was supposedly complete, though the way it was obtained didn't leave her feeling very complete.
Still it was her sword now, Scythra had vanquished her claim to it. In doing so vanquishing Valin from the House, but without the sword or the grand Matron there to make her stay she wouldn't have anyways, though Scythra's last threat was tempting her to try. She winced at remembering Scythra and her spidery form, her left arm reaching up to feel where she was now missing her left ear's tip.
A curse would have left her mouth could she have spoken. Instead she waited for Divintra to tear off a section of her dress so she could get the sword out and sheath it in it's proper place, in the sheath at her side. She didn't know if Divintra realized this was the sword she had been searching for. Either way it was hers now an there was no way she was letting go of it until it was in her sheath and on her waist.

Despite being wounded Valin seemed determined to still try and do things for herself. Divintra shook his head slightly and made a tsking sound at Valin as he knelt and, using a splinter of wood, he poked a tear into the hem of her dress, and began to tear off strips of it. He needed one big strip to push into the wound, then a longer strip to tie it in place. he winced as more of the material was torn away, revealing her legs up to about the knee before he felt he had enough to temporarily bandage the wound now, and then dress it properly once they were in the abandoned smithy.
Divintra lifted his head, and gave Valin a slight nod as he held onto a wadded up section of her dress. "Okay... I can pull it out if you need me to. You really ought to just lay back and not exert yourself. You don't want to make the would worse and the strain might cause more blood to flow. I've found a abandoned smithy nearby and I've cleared a way to the back. Once we get you sort of half patched up here I'll drag you there and see about getting you some real tending. Okay?"

Valin merely nodded again, her eyes unfocusing slightly when he mentioned the smithy. With a sharp gasp she wrenched the sword free quickly, her arm lacking the strength to keep it in the air after it was no longer supported by the rest of her, still trying to move it to her sheath. It moved shakily for a little bit and then she found herself unable to keep her eyes open.
A falling sensation enveloped her and the only thing she knew she was able to do was keep hold of the sword. Her thoughts wandered back to the mention of the smithy and she breifly contemplated how ironic it was that she would die in the same place her mother had, then again a lot of ironic things had happened lately.
She reopened her eyes and waited for Divintra to finished whatever it was he had been planning to do about the wound. If she was going to pass out again, she would at least be in the smithy when she did so. Gritting her teeth, she braced herself for the attempt to stand, suddenly glad that she had not been able to sheath the sword because it would make a good crutch. Though she was more than unhappy about having to use it in such a way.

He watched as Valin pulled the sword from her own wound. That was a foolish move, in his thinking. She seemed so set on hurting herself. Was she really that prideful? With a tsking sound and a shake of his head, Divintra knelt downwards and pushed the wad of cloth in his fist down the front of Valin's dress. He paid little heed to just where his hand was, and focused on pushing the cloth under the material of the dress and against the stab wound. Though...His cheeks did turn a slight pinkish hue. Removing his hand, Divintra did his best to tie the bundled cloth into place around her torso and over her shoulder.
Valin's failed attempt to sheat the sword was noted as he tended to her as best he could. Should he mtnion that it would be a bad idea to sheath a blade with blood on it still? It would be hard to get the blood out of the scabbard later...but as Valin started to push herself to her feet, both Divintra and Lin both made waving hand motions at her.
"Valin stop! Your loseing too much blood. Your never going to make it to the shop if you insist on fussing like this. Here...just..well..your up already I guess..." He stepped up and turned a little so his bare back was towards her. "Just...flop onto my back. I'll carry you, okay?"

"I-" she gave up protesting, mainly because she knew her legs would only keep her up for a few more seconds. Against her will she fell forwards and onto to Divintra. She muttered a little, trying to keep her face from growing warm both at her embarrassment from having to be carried and because the last time she was forced to be against bare flesh it had been Scythra's, not that she viewed Divintra to be like Scythra in that respect.
Of course those last thoughts only caused her face to heat the more and she resigned herself to focusing on clinging to her sword. The strength in her fingers was failing as well, so she was almost glad her hand was painfully cramped around the hilt.
Her grip on it was akward though, and her deprived strength was causing her fingers to uncramp and relax, making her wince at the sound of metal clattering on stone as it fell to the ground. She tried to shift so she could look to see where it landed, fearful of someone taking it if they left it there. Her voice was pleading as she spoke to Divintra, "Please-please don't leave it behind..."

Divintra grunted slightly as he felt Valin fall against him and he reached back to wrap his arms where he could grasp. He stiffened his legs, and after a moment of adjusting to the dragging weight, he set off at a slow plodding pace. The pink had quickly faded from his cheeks as Divintra set himself with a determined look. Her weight wasn't so bad. he had hauled boxes heavier then Valin. it was just the uncomfortable wetness he felt on his back that bothered him.
Divintra heard the metallic clang as the sword fell to the ground, and his steady plodding steps came to a halt. "What?" He questioned her, and with a slow shuffel he turned himself about to see the bloody sword lieing on the ground.Inwardly, and outwardly, Divintra groaned. He couldn't just ignore her request after all. So down he went. Bending his knee's carefully until he could let go of Valin with one hand and stretch his fingers out to pinch up the sword. It took him a few swipes and a little finger play before he had nudged it up to his shoe. Pushing it so his foot propped the blade up a little, Divintra was able to wrap his fingers about the hilt. Then came the task of standing back up. Closeing his eyes, he tensed the muscles in his legs. His knees shook a little under the effort. He obviously was getting out of shape with all the easy jobs he had been fortunate to have lately. Still...up he rose. Huffing short quick breaths, he tightened his one hand on Valin, bent forwards a bit more to better balance her while he clung to the sword in his off hand...and he resumed his slow progress.
It was a boon that the smithy was so close. Divintra's legs were burning by the time he made his way to the back of the abandoned shop. The first thing he did was drop the sword to the floor so he could resume a better grip on Valin.
"V-valin? You still co-conscious?" he panted questioningly. "I'm g-goin to back into th-the corner and kneel down. Can-can you slide off then?"
