Every forum has a set of rules, each forum differs slightly on how those rules are enforced. Here at [SWS] we feel that people should be given chances to prove themselves. This does not mean however that we like seeing people breaking the rules. If any of the rules in this topic are broken we will not automatically ban someone. We will first PM you and discuss it with you. If rule breaking continues we will be forced to take further action in the form of warnings which could in turn result in a ban for the member in question. No-one wants this to happen to them so please ensure you read these rules and follow them to the best of your ability.

NO-ONE'S PERFECT!
In the RP world ,the term Mary-Sue is used to describe a character who's perfect in every single way. They never get hurt and if they do they're normally perfectly fine ten minutes later, no matter what the damage is. They also tend to be all knowing, which is rather annoying for your fellow role-players. So please, keep in mind that no-one's perfect, ok, no matter what the genre you’re creating. This just makes things more fun.

DEALING WITH CREW
Be polite and respectful to all crew members. These people have earned their positions by helping around the forum and do not deserve to be disrespected in any way. If any crew member tells you to do something, you do it. They've been given instructions from Rabid on what they should be doing therefore you should consider a message from them as a message from him. It's the law. Deal with it. If you have a problem with a member of the crew, feeling you've been unfairly treated feel free to get in contact with Rabid through PM.
GRAPHICS RESTRICTIONS
We are fairly lenient with our graphics rules on the forum. We do however ask that your post signature is kept to a sensible size, meaning that it does not stretch the posts. An acceptable size would be around 200x400.

POST LENGTH
All that is asked when role-playing on the forum you write approximately five sentences or more. This ensures that your role-playing partner has enough to work with when replying to you and also keeps the writing standards on the forum particularly high.
SPELL-CHECK YOUR ROLE-PLAYS AND USE PROPER GRAMMAR
Here at [SWS] we pride ourselves on our wonderful grasp on the English language but even the best of us have problems at times. Due to this we ask that members quickly spell check their posts to ensure any minor errors are removed before posting. You can use this Spell-Checker to do so.
RP IN THE THIRD PERSON
We ask that all roleplays be conducted in the third person. This style of writing is easier to follow and reads better than roleplays written in the first person. If you are unsure of what first and third person writing is, here is a small example:
Quote:
(first person)
I walked into fourth period, English, and I could feel all of their eyes on me.
I walked into fourth period, English, and I could feel all of their eyes on me.
Quote:
(third person)
Lacey walked into fourth period, English, and she could feel all of there eyes on her.
Lacey walked into fourth period, English, and she could feel all of there eyes on her.
OUT OF CHARACTER
When role-playing sometimes you find you have to communicate as yourself to get a point across to your role-playing partner. When you find the need to do this you must use the out of character tags. These are pretty simple. To write out of character just simply proceed your statement with the letters OOC and if you're switching back into character use BIC to indicate this. It's as simple as that.
COLOURS
In order to ensure your fellow role-players can read exactly what you've written we ask that you are sensible when choosing colours. For example, don't use a light shade of yellow when posting as Gaia's backgroiunds are white. This just makes things harder to read for your fellow members and also makes it look like you are spamming the forum if nothing of what you have written seems to be appearing in your posts.
These are the RP-ing Rules,
abide by them or else *shakes fist*
