The Marketplace here will be similar to most Markets found on other forums. We have some basic rules to help things run smoothly. There are other forums with larger markets, but this is here to have a place for our members to use if you just want a smaller crowd of people you know and don't want to mess with trying things like Perion channel 1.

First off, you CANNOT TRADE MAPLE ITEMS/MESOS FOR ANYTHING ON GAIA. Period. This is a bannable offense. Only Maple for Maple trades/sales. Also fame is not allowed as any part of buying/selling.
I'd like to hope that everyone in the guild is decently responsible and trustworthy. If someone has been found to be scamming (with proof) or excessively backing out of deals, that person will be banned from the guild.

Making a thread:
You set up your thread based on what you're doing, are you buying (B>), selling (S>), auctioning (A>), or trading (T>)? If you want an approximate value of an item, you can use price check (PC>) though what a person says its worth is not necessairaly written in stone, since all values depend on if someone actually willing to buy it for that much, so don't start feeling like you got ripped if you find it for a couple thousand more or less somewhere else. Its possible to have a combo thread if you are doing more than one of these things (B/T>). Remember to give a brief ides of what you're selling in the title. You can also use (M>) to set up a shop thread if you have a lot of things you'd like to sell from one thread and set it up as a 'shop', though I recommed if you have items from different servers you make a seperate thread for each server shop to avoid confusion.
Since we have players here from all different servers (ie Scania, Bera, Broa), but not enough to merit a seperate subforum for each, please remember to list what server you're on in the thread title as well as post for easier browsing. Also keep in mind that prices can vary for the same item depending on which server you're on. Also make a note if its for a different version of the game that OMS (official Maple Story, or the Western version), though I don't think we have enough users of other versions here to be worth trying to buy/sell items here, there are probably better forums for that.

So a basic thread title would look like:
(Scania) S> Blue Pole-feather hat, above avg stats

Now on to the main content for your post! This is also important that you include certain information to make the process easier. For auctions please include a starting price and bid increment, auctions should not run longer than 5 days and need to have a specific set ending time. An auto-win (AW) price is optional.
For selling:
Items name you are selling
clean/scrolled
level/gender limitations
stats
price
server (Scania, Bera, or Broa)
your IGN (in-game name)
any additional information
also may be good optinally to include a picture and if you are willing to haggle

And example of a thread post:
Green Starlight (CLEAN)
Male, lvl 38 overall
INT +3
LUK +1
weapon def 36
magic def 19
upgrades available 10

270k (I have no idea what they're really worth)
Scania, IGN YoruKitsune

For buying, of course you don't need specific stats, just a general idea of what you're looking for and your offer 3nodding

Some other basic rules:
DO NOT EDIT YOUR POSTS in threads to cheat on auctions or withdraw/change bids/prices, either as seller or buyer. If you change your mind (which is strongly discouraged) you should make a new post stating that and why.

Only make a thread if you seriously want to sell that item, not just to fish for prices. If the item is sold please mark the thread closed (CLOSED) so other users don't think its still available. Also if you've changed your mind and decided to sell the item through other means since you weren't getting offers here, close the thread as well.

Likewise, only make an offer or place a bid if you are serious and willing to follow through.

If you both have agreed to a sale, follow through, and don't back out just because you didn't see that person on MS that day, we all have lives and its only fair to give someone a couple days to hook up with you before seeking another buyer.

Please do not excessively bump your thread, if its on the first page then it doesn't need to be bumped. This forum doesn't move very fast so bumping generally isn't necessary.

Other Info:
Having trouble pricing an item? Most items don't have fixed prices, and their value can fluctuate depending on current supply/demand. There are several other main marketplaces out there, and I recommend looking at them if you're unsure of a value.

Sleepywood.net has one of the largest and oldest markets for OMS, they are not the most trustworthy forum but have a great search feature which can give you a good idea of what things are selling at for a particular item.
NOTE: Do NOT use anything related to your Maple Story user name or password for an account on this site, there are rumors of instances where the site maintainer has used those to hack accounts. This is just common sense for any fan site.

Basil Market is a newer site with an ebay-like setup for both buying and selling. I havn't used it much yet, I think the prices are running a bit more extreme than usual, but seems like a good site.

Hidden Street is a great site to look up item information, so you can see what the average item stats are and the sellback price (since there's not much point in selling something to someone for less than you can sell it back to the store for, unless you're feeling really nice.)
