Divintra had to admitt that this delivery was a touch unusual. Herbs? Rather potent smelling ones at that. Sometimes when he shook the small book sized box he could get a whiff of something strong and rather pleasent within. He had spent the past two weeks useing the box as a pillow though, and he would be grateful to hand it over to the cook and be done with it. Divintra supposed this was a more...common sort of job. Not nearly as important or as exciting as the other jobs he had fulfilled lately. Still...he knew the merchant a little from his earlier years and he disliked saying no to any sort of job. Gold was gold, no matter what hands they came from.
As he approched the grand House, Divintra let his purple gaze lift to admire the view. He wasn't going to the front doors though. not with a simple deliverly like this. Instead he headed around back to where the servants enterance was. The delivery was all paid for after all. All he needed to do was knock on the door and pass the box off to the help Then he could wander his way throught he city looking for another job or maybe a little bite to eat...

The drider snuffled again, clicking softly to himself as he crept along the outside walls of the G'eld household, keeping himself close to the floor. Tonight was going to be the start of another swift bout of freedom.. Oh yes indeed, it had been too long since he had been out and done his own thing and not find himself limited by walls. He held himself low to the ground, something he had learned from previous attempts. Although he made himself look far more ferocious when he reared up to his full, towering height, that small person found if a lot easier to catch him.. That small person indeed.. He bristled ever so slightly and narrowed his two still drow-like eyes at the corner he was approaching. It was unclear at to what he was looking at with the other five eyes.
With another snuffle and a lower set of clicks and squeaks he peeked around the corner to be met with quite an interesting aroma.. And the exit! The small arch-way that lead to the outside tunnels and to freedom! Sure, there was a pale thing in the way.. A smelly pale thing.. It did smell pretty good actually.. It could taste as good as well.. And he was fairly hungry, after all.. With that vague thought in his mind, and an unobstructed exit ahead, Eclave'eth decided to make a run for it, still low and his arms out, the fingers of his large hands spread wide he scuttled with alarming speed around the corner, and relatively close to the ground, right at the pale drow between him and the arch.

Divintra opened one of the servants doors. It wasn't like he really needed to knock for this. He was certain if he found a servant in the hall he could just pass the box off to them and be done with it. Servants doors were for..well...serving! Heh! He couldn't help the quirk of a smile that twitched his lips as he passed through the archway and headed on down the hall.
Divintra was just a little distracted by his own thoughts. After all, this was a basic no-brains required delivery. Or so he thought up until now. It took Divintra a moment to recognise the hulking shape that filled the hallway. His purple eyes blinked a few times at it...but as those eight legs scuttled impossibly fast over the floor... what he was looking at registered within his mind.
...
Divintra dropped the box. Twisting about on the ball of his foot, he pelted off down the hall way as fast as his little feet could manage to move.* Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie! He whistle screamed due to the monster that he could hear drawing closer to him. Divintra threw his hands out in front of him, his eyes wide with terror as he neared the exit. Just a few more steps!!

The sudden movement of his bolting quarry only spurred Eclave'eth on, he simply HAD to catch him now! With a few sharp clicks of what could have been glee, he stretched out to just feel the fabric of the pale drows clothes over his fingertips. With the archway fast approaching he bounded, bunched up and lunged wildly at the retreating figure, grabbing a hold of it and tucking it closer to himself as he curled as squeezed himself through the snug little archway with the skill of some-one that had done this many a time before.
With a delighted little roar the drider went on to scale the outer lofty perimeters of the house, maintaining a tight grip on the not quite as smelly as before drow, as he had come to recognise it, and made a break for the tunnels. He soon slowed his pace when the scurrying of the G'eld guards had died away, their calling for an annoyingly familiar name. If the small one was near-by then he wouldn't be enjoying his freedom for long.. He turned a drow-eye down onto the pale thing in his arms.. It was a little disappointing, the look working its way onto his face, that is had turned out to be a drow. He had been forbidden from eating them. He gave him a slightly sulky little look and a series of clicks before a contemplative look took its place.
His quarry didn't exactly look like a normal drow though.. Did that still count?

Something ran down his back and left a icy chill in it's passing.. A soft touch stroking over the treated roth hide jerkin he wore over the spider silk mesh shirt. His messenger bag bounced against his leg as he tried to speed up his racing legs. It was about then that something hard slammed into his back. Divintra's world went dark and topsy turvy. He was disoriented at first. The feel of something vice like about his shoulders, effectively pinning his arms to his side, brought his mind back into quick focus.
The drider! It had caught him! If Divintra had not already been white he would have paled. A roar echoed in his pointed ears, and his perspective of the world twisted again. For the drider it was probably nothing. But for Divintra, being carried up the wall was very disconcerting!
"Help help help!" He wailed at the top of his lungs. His slight form squirmed of course, reguardless of the fact he'd have one hell of a fall ahead of him if he actually did manage to squirm free of the stronger creatures grip. Divintra's features flushed with fear as he was unsuccessful...and the drider seemed to be making a break for the tunnels along the outer edge of the city. "No no! Oh God please no!" He continued to cry out. He couldn't even think of a prayer to help him! Not that he'd be able to use it, pinned as he was in the drider's grasp.
When it was his captor slowed down so he could better inspect Divintra, his eyes began to water despite his best efforts to control himself. All he could see was a unhappy expression on the creatures face. "Don't eat me! Please! I won't taste good at all! Please just let me go!" Would it even understand him? Some driders were utterly insane, but many were intelligent enough. Divintra twisted against the grip holding him, but he felt like he was pushing against bands of metal, he really wasn't a warrior anymore! "I'm just a messenger boy!"

Eclave'eth cocked his head to the side ever so slightly as the pale thing in his arms started to talk at him rather quickly. He recognised the words, he knew the language but a lot of it he could no longer comprehend. Don't eat.. Please.. Good.. Let go.. Boy.. Some of them held a little more meaning than others, but judging by the way he was squirming, the look on his face and the desperate tone he was scared.. Scared creatures tasted tough.. But then.. With some of the words it felt like it was more of an order not to eat.. It was a bit garbled but he recalled the crazy one that sometimes bought he rich meats told him what was good to eat and what was not, he had learned a little word association with him, and.. It did look drow-like after-all, even if it wasn't the right colours. He bared his teeth in a rather pleased grin as he puzzled his conundrum out at last, clicking down at the pale drow yet again, all the while striding purposefully into the tunnels. He felt sort of nice actually. Kinda.. Silky.. Was that a word..? Vic'zar paused yet again with a mild frown. He was sure he'd heard it again. It was very faint, but he had been sure it had been a distressed little wail or cry, and not from a creature, from what younded like a younger drow. He sighed heavily as he rounded a corner, his eyes fixed on a now guarded entrance to his beloveds household. SOmething must have happened again, not that that in itself was unusual. They were a powerful house and.. Had rather interesting occupants within. He grinned a little at that thought as he continued on his way, heading away from the archway but still circling the G'eld home in a round-about sort of fashion. He'd find a way in eventually. There were only a few guards that knew him.. Or that Ariadne had informed about his comings and goings here. He'd probably have to wait until later before he could visit her again, it was annoying but he was a patiant man and the reward, in this case, was worth all the trouble!
He chuckled mirthfully to himself as his other favoured way in was also blocked by strnge guards. No matter, not where had that dragon of his gone..? He gave a low whistle, scanning the higher rocks around him, his eyes flicking to the top-most reaches of the perimeter wall at he heard a muted sort of twitter and something alighted there with a flurry of leathery wings. At least Mavis could come and go as she pleased. Often she'd be back with something that looked far too new and precious to have already been a part of their hoard, so at least someone was able to see his beloved when-ever they pleased. It looked like she had retrieved something or another, something else to add to her clutch, no doubt! With another little chuckle and a whistle she hopped off her lofty perch and dived down, throwing her wings open to slow her descent and alight hind-legs-first on his shoulder, her forelimbs resting in his head as she shook her wings and settled herself down, looking at the commotion at the servants entrance.
The older drow eyed the group of guards and fairly shocked servants as he rounded them, tugging thoughtfully on his goatee when whatever it was that Mavis had discovered and was chewing dropped down to dangle right infront of his nose from a chain. SOmething that had a decidedly non-lolth symbol on it! If he'd had two eyes he would have crossed them while trying to focus on the small disc, reaching up to snatch it from the small dragon and being met with an angry hiss nd n** to his fingers. Whoever this had belonged to had not been part of the house, though Mavis had certainly retrieved it from within.. There was alot of commotion.. And if he wasn't mistaken.. There were definetly some drider tracks here and there on the outside.. Probably wouldn't be too bad of an idea to follow up on those screams he was sure he had heard earlier..

The drider was just...looking at him. Rather intently. Divintra's strength had waned a bit, as the apprehensive strength and panic he had gone through started to fade and a helpless sense began to take it's place. He could only vaugely remember the cries of other drow as the drider had rushed about. Surely someone would come after the creature and then perhaps he'd be released? Providing he wasn't already dead! It was a high likelyhood! Particularly when the driders face split into a terrifying smile. Divintra could do nothing to stop the small shudder that ran through him. He was still fighting back the tears, despite how unlikely it seemed a guard from the house would find him before this monster bit his head off.
"Please... no..." He couldn't stop crying out though. Even if it was a little weaker in compare to his previous wails. Divintra shifted his body a bit as the drider began to move once again, his white haired head turning from side to side in a panic. "No no no....oh God... help please! I'm not ready to diiiiiie."

Eclave'eth continued to meander along the tunnels at a more leasurely pace now that he had put a little distance between the commotion he had left in his wake. He still kept a firm grip on the drow in his arms, though for all intents and purposes he could have forgotten about him for now, despite his pleading and cries for help, his eyes tracing over the rocks and walls of the tunnels as he found his way though them. The one motion to indicate that he hadn't completely forgotten about the poor albino was the petting. It wasn't malicious, but fairly gentle, the drider evidently finding something oddly appealing with how the various materials of Divintra's clothing felt.. And his hair, that felt interesting too, and he did have sensitive finger-tips after all.
At least he was fairly distracted until a small leathery creature alighted on his shoulder and gave him a sharp bite to the ear. That was when all hell broke loose.
~
Vic persued the drider swiftly yet with skillful, near-silence. It wasn't a difficult task with all the years he had under his belt tracking creatures through the under-dark. He would not have such a good business in dealing with sought-after familiars and pets if he couldn't even track such a big and obvious beast as a drider!
He had sent Mavis on ahead to see if she could buy him a little time in catching up with them, he was unsure as to how much of a head-start the drider had, he assumed it was Eclave'eth, his beloveds pet. From previous encounters he knew the monstrously large drider was deceptively swift when he had reason to be, so any time that could be bought was going to be a big advantage to find out what was going on. It wasn't usually like him to abduct someone, and he was very curious to meet someone who he assumed was not a follower of Lolth yet be in the grounds of one of the most powerful houses of the West-Dark.
He grinned broadly as he spotted a commotion up ahead and sped up his pursuit when she saw that it had indeed been Eclave'eth who has rushed around the grounds and broken out once more. That at least meant that source of the cries that he had heard were in relatively safe hands. Though he looked to be menacing, the house-drider was remarkably gentle.. If a little bit nuts. And there he was! He'd been right! A younger looking fellow of the most unusual colouration he had ever seen. He counted himself very fortunate to be the one rescuing this pale beauty!
"Mave!" He called out to his dragon, when he was close enough to grab a hold of one of the driders shorter chain-restraints, "That's enough, girly! S'only old Eclave'eth! No danger here." He chuckled a little at the angry snarl and hiss he recieved from the drider shortly followed with a snap of his sharp teeth. "Oh come now.. I'm sure she didn't hut you all that bad.. C'mon yeh.. Drop the lil' guy, eh?" He coaxed as Mavis draped herself over his shoulders once more, keeping her beady eyes on the drider.
It seemingly took a moment for the words to sink in to the driders mind but he did comply.. Rather promptly, simply letting Divintra drop to the floor and giving Vic'zar a piercing look. The taller, furry drow just grinned and let go of the restraint, "There we go then! Off you go! I saw Kalan gettin' ready to come 'nd get you!" He gave the drider a gentle kick which only earnt him and even dirtier glare as the beastie made his way off further into the tunnels, leaving Vic alone with the albino.
He leant down with a slightly apologetic grin, "Look's like you've been fer quite a ride, eh? You doin' okay, lil' guy..?" He offered Divintra a hand clad in a finger-less leather glove to help him up, "Hurtin'..?"

Despite the fact he was not currently being devoured....Divintra was uncertain exactly what to expect. He was being carried away into the tunnels of the Underdark by a drider...if the drider did not do him in he was certain something else would. Divintra felt a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. He had no weapons...he had a damn unbreakable glass ball and a bunch of prayers that would tell him if something was safe or good. Not very useful out in the wilds away from the city!
"Please..just..stop...go back...gyh!" He pleaded the drider as best he could, but it didn't seem to be listening to his softer and frightened words. If anything it seemed to be getting...friendly? Divintra closed his eyes as he felt the fingers petting through his pale hair. It was a gentle enough of a touch, hardly something to be afraid of...perhaps that is why he was no longer in a panic. Still, there was something really off about this.
It was the pet's of his body, having those fingers slipping over his torso that made Divintra react in a way he really wished he didn't. "Nyhe! Hee...hee hee! S-stop that! Y-y-your tickling!" He gasped between giggles. He had never been tickled before! And the gentle petting strokes brought forth soft laughter and more squirming from Divintra.
The petting did seem to come to a stop though, as the drider's seemingly pleasent mood was disrupted. Divintra's head tilted back at the annoyed hiss it had made. Had a monster found them!?
no...something...small did... Clasped as he was, Divintra was unable to see clearly who had stopped the drider, but he heard the voice of the other. Thank the God!
Divintra hit the dirt butt first. "Unehf!" He grunted, then, peering up at the disgrunted drider, he was seriously amazed that the beast was just...crawling away.... he turned to his rescuer. His purple eyes widening a fraction at the mans strange...appearance.
"I...I..ah..." He stammered for a moment. His hand lifted to take the offered one so he could get unsteadily to his feet. "I ...uhm... I think..No. I'n not hurt just..." His head turned to glance in the direction the drider had gone. "I thought it was going to...to eat me or something...but..." With a quick shaking of his slightly fuzzy and out of place hair, Divintra forced himself to focus on the male. "Thank you for stopping it. I guess I owe you?"

Vic gave the small male a lopsided sort of grin as he helped him up to his feet, still leaning down somewhat, and helped him brush the tunnel-dirt off his clothes. "I imagine you'll find a few bruises here and there, but I'm glad to hear you're alrigh'." He cast his a one-eyed glance down the tunnel in the direction Eclave'eth had gone, "I take it it's your first time meetin' him, eh? He's really not a bad soul at all. He wouldn't 've eaten you, he's not only well trained but occasionally he has some manners too!" He chuckled a little at that one, soon tuning his eye back to the small drow in front of him. He was certainly a looker! He knew he'd be happy enough to just stare at him for a whole evening, no matter how much it would have creeped out the lil' guy to know that. He did look young though.. "Naw, it's nothing! Besides, I had something to return to you, I think.. Sorry it's a bit chewed up.." He reached up to his ear where Mavis' snout was mostly hidden by his hair and with a few tugs, retrieved the shiny disc she had picked up earlier, passing it tooth-marks and all to Divintra with a knowing little look. "It is yours after-all, isn't it..?" He queried, "Only.. I know a few people who have something.. Similar.."

Divintra had no protest for Vic when he helped him dust his clothing free of the dirt he had upon him. He was still a little unsettled from his impromptu 'date' with the drider. He still could not get over the awkwardness of the petting. Bruies...yes...As he rolled his shoulders to ease the stifness of his fear tensed muscles Divintra could definatly feel a bit of a protesting ache where the drider had first impacted him.
"I suppose I am allright... there is something not right about being petted by a giant man spider beast though." He would grudgingly reply while the other drow would look off down the tunnel towards where the drider had vanished.
"Trained?" Divintra picked up on that a touch quickly. His purple eyes blinking with mild disbelief. "You mean someone...keeps that around like...like a pet or something? You know who owns it?" He was trying to be poliet...and focusing on the topic of conversation. But the drow standing before him was oddly strange looking...and that was something coming from Divintra! His eyes flickered between the eye patch and the strange growth of hair on his chin. It had to be magic of some sort!
The conversation movied on to something different though. "Something of mine?" Divintra reached into his pockets and began to pat them down to ensure everything was still secured and closed, even the pouchs of his messenger bag. Yet as Vic would hold out the familar looking necklace... In just a few short breaths Divintra's heartbeat went from racing to frozen. He began to automatically shake his head in denial of the necklace. The knowing look was met with a slightly paniced one. Was it a verbal trap? Telling him he'd seen others with that mark? If so Divintra was wondering if he'd have been better off with the drider after all! Still...it wasn't like this drow was a priestess... "It...I..."

The tall male just continued to grin at first, nodding to him, "Sure, trained! He belongs to the G'eld family. They've always had an, uh.. Interestin' taste in pets.. A giant naga, I've heard came before the drider. The naga, however was un-tamable and he was locked up in the lower levels of the house, so I've heard.." He arched an eyebrow at the curious looks he received.. Well.. Up until he saw the sudden change in the smaller drows composure when he presented him with the disc. He raised both eyebrows, his eye widening a little at the slow panic that seemed to be spreading over the younger males pretty little face and how he somehow seemed to be looking even paler.. Mavis even surfaced from the mess of her masters hair to c**k her head at the stammering male.
"Hey.. It's.. Oh.." He paused for a moment.. In a way the reaction was.. Understandable.. Here they were, slap bang in the middle of a sector that was controlled almost exclusively by followers of the Spider-Goddess.. Never knew who could have been watching. He licked his lips and looked back to the smaller male again, reaching out to clasp his shoulders with both his hands in a surprisingly gentle grip, "It's okay.." He tried again, "I know how hard it is to talk about Him when we are in such a dangerous city." He hoped that the male would pick up on the emphasis. He didn't carry around a symbol of his faith upon his person. It was dangerous enough for him as it was without making himself even more obvious. "I promise you, you've got nothin' to fear from me, kid. We prob'bly tread a similar path.. Besides, if I were one of them I'd have done you in by now, eh..?"

The clasping of Vic's hands and onto his shoulders gave Divintra a slight shock. It broke the freeze he felt coming over him, and cleared his mind a bit to actually hear what the other male was saying to him. It was...hard to believe that he was seriously claiming to be a follower of the Masked Lord as well...but that really wasn't something one fooled around with saying. Particularly considering the fact there was no reason for it. What the male was saying made complete sense. Knowing as little as he did about Divintra he doubted there would be a secondary reason for pretending.
"Ah..." He was going to end up giving the other male the impression he had a problem speaking with all the little half sounds he had been making thus far. "Your...right. I'm sorry I just... Wasn't expecting...that to be brought up..." He took a slow and slightly shaking breath to attempt and purge the ittery feeling in his limbs. "I'm Divintra... I didn't get your name...."

Vic gave Divintra a relieved smile as he seemed to have managed to convey to him at last that he wasn't a threat. No matter where he was, in fairness, he could hardly be considered a threat. "Well.. No, it's not something you can just bring up in idle conversation, huh..?" He chuckled, giving the smaller males shoudlers a bit of a squeeze as the big old grin returned again, "And the reason, you didn't catch my name yet, Divintra, is that I had yet to drop it, which was very rude of me in hind-sight." He laughed warmly and leant foreward to bump the bridge of his nose against the others forehead before he straightened up at last to releive the crick forming in his spine where he had been leaning over for so long, "I go by Vic'zar Claddep.. And the beastie hiding in my hair is the ferocious dragon, Mavis!"
He tilted his head to the side to fix Divintra with an impish little grin for a moment, "Divintra, eh..? It's a pretty name for such a little cutie!" If he still had the ability to wink, he would have as he gave the albino's shoulders another firm squeeze, "Guess you should be tucking that.. Item.. Away for now.." He spoke up after a short moment, admiring his new companion a little more, "So tell me.. Is there anywhere I can escort you to..? Some-where.. More comfortable..?" He teased him a little. He berated himself a little at this, Divintra looked like a kid and probably was one.

Idle conversation indeed! Divintras lips pulled upwards into a faint tracing of a smile. He was a little surprised by the casual bump, and he couldn't help but blink his eyes upwards as Vic would make his introductions. "It's...good to meet you Vic'zar." And strangely enough...Divintra honestly meant it. He had saved him from the drider...returned a bit of property to him that most drow would have destroied immediatly, and seemed to walk the same path he did. It was almost enough to make Divintra question the days events as divine intervention. He had not met anyone since his mother that he could even begin to question about his choosen God.
"That's a dragon? Really? I thought they were supposed to be bigger?" He wondered if the creature might take offense...dragons were supposed to be intelligent right? However, his wondering concerning the dragon would be replaced by a slip of embaressment. His white cheeks clearly portrayed the faint pink blush of his embaressment easily following the compliment and second squeeze to his shoulders.
"Ah! oh yes!" He'd temporarily forgotten about that! Div glanced at his symbol, and inwardly he winced at the small indents in the coin shape. Still, he slipped it over his head, and after flipping his hair loose of the chain he tucked it firmly under his spider mesh shirt.
The offer of escort was both welcome..and a bit odd really. More comfortable? "I think anywhere inside the city and away from the drider will be more comfortable right now....I suppose I'm done for today too..." Div raised his shoulders in a faint arch. "Do you know of a relitively quite place I can get something to eat and a room for the night?"
