Harle liked to do many things on her time alone, but above all, there was sleeping. She didn't like to be called lazy, but she supposed she sometimes was, and during the midday autumn months with food so abundant and wolves moving around plenty, she found herself spending a lot of time napping and nosing around.
But for the most part, she stayed grounded for the first time in months. She still wandered, but she found herself going back oftenly to the small area by the stream that Yero and his family called home. She never went too close, as she didn't want to impose herself on the new family, but the whole area had a very homely feel to it that she was instantly attracted to. And she certainly did not wish to turn down any chance to play with Nessa, or see Yero.
But she still found herself doing a lot of napping. And such was she doing midday that autumn, lounging in what appeared to be a very uncomfortable manner. She lay upside down with her back to the earth, her lean body covered backwards around a rather peculiarly round rock (had someone once smoothed it down?), her feet pressed to her belly and her bright tail tapering off the rock.
She was spinning sort of between pondering going for food or taking a little more into lethargy. A wind was fluttering around with a chilly blow, bringing on all sorts of smells from the woods. She adjusted her position so she lay on her side, face pressed to the rock and eyes focused on the woods. She wondered where Kirra was. She supposed she shouldn't care, the female never seemed to like her company anyways. She'd felt guilty over the misunderstanding they once had though, and she hated to think she had run her off into some cold part of the woods to be alone. Maybe she'd found someone else to walk with. Maybe.
With a yawn, Harle shifted against the rock. It was a funny kind of smooth, and it warmed in the sun. She felt something keeping her out of sleep this day though. Perhaps she was waiting for something to happen.

The crisp autumn breeze gusted past, brushing Nessa's cheek, causing the young wolf to flick her ear in reflex to the tickle of cool air. The cobalt female had been subject to a growth spurt in the past couple weeks, and was now on the edge of adolescence. Her legs had grown long and slender and her fur had filled out a bit into a longer, sleeker pelt, though it was still dusted with duller puppy fur at the base of her ears and down the sides of her torso.
Yero padded behind his daughter, reveling in the cool air. He couldn't help but smile to himself in a fatherly way as he noted wryly the ironic change in roles. Now Nessa was leading him places, rather than the reverse. Hish daughter was growing up. And today they had returned to the meadow in the hopes of meeting Harle once again for a hunting lesson.
Nessa grinned as she caught sight of the older female lounging languidly on a smooth block of stone. She flattened her ears against the back of her head, tongue lolling in good fun, and crouched lower to the ground so that the other might not see her approaching from the side. Sidling up to the rock, she coiled her body and sprung, dainty paws smacking the rock in front of Harle, ears canted forward with merriment. "Harle!" She barked enthusiastically, tail going like a dervish.
Behind his daughter a few yards, Yero winced on behalf of the other.

Having been faced the opposite direction and deep within her own lazy contemplation, the sudden arrival of Yero and Nessa caught the young female by surprise. All of a sudden Nessa was upon the rock in front of her, and with a yip of surprise, Harle quickly turned it into a pleased bubble of laughter. But through her rambunctious greeting, she couldn't help but be shocked at how big Nessa was growing. She'd only not seen her for a week or two- and now look how big she already was! Pups!
"Nessa! Hello there!" She smiled, her tail thrushing about. "You look enormous! Don't be trying to grow taller then me just because I'm short now." She grinned, continuing to fawn over the young child. She was surprised at how much she was happy to see her. Perhaps she was more of a family wolf then she'd once imagined.
With a soft smile, she carefully turned her head and regarded the approaching figure of Yero. He was looking quite the father figure, although Harle wondered how he felt about Nessa already on the verge of adolescence. It'd open up quite a few new doors for the young female. She'd have to keep her eye out for shady males hanging around. There'd be none of that, that's for sure!
"And how are you two today?" She smiled, gently bowing her head in amiable nature.

Nessa tossed her mentor a wolfish grin, running a full circle around Harle's pedestal, her feet pounding out some of her excitement. These days, with a new body on her hands, and faster speeds attainable, Nessa couldn't fight the urge to zoom around, as if testing a new vehicle. She stopped her eclectic dance in front of the darker female, slipping into a playbow, laughter dancing in her olive eyes. "I know! I have to be careful not to hit my head in the forest now!" She said in genuine urgency, her tail's wag slowing down to a gentler beat after she'd burned off the energy.
Yero quickened his pace to a lope and tilted his ears back in a friendly greeting. The warm smile on his face was jaded ever-so-slightly in a way that seemed to verify Harle's thoughts on teenage girls. Truth be told, Yero had just chased off an older male whose intentions he wasn't sure about, and he wasn't looking forward to his daughter discovering the opposite gender. But he still had a little time with Nessa to himself, thank goodness.
"Good morning Harle!" He wuffed in a basso greeting. "Oh, quite well, thank you." He replied to her question, dipping his blackened muzzle with a smile. "And yourself?" Child-rearing had taken it's toll on the male, and he looked perhaps a little more wizened than he had on his last visit, but his character still seemed quite sturdy and his nerves, if anything, were a little less shot from growing used to his children's needs.

"Oh, the usual me." Harle smiled between Nessa's zooming around her. She supposed this was all karma coming back to her. She was having such strange de javu watching Nessa and thinking about how she was as a child. She supposed she must have always been up to no good. With an eager grin, she gently bopped Nessa as she ran about with the end of her tail. "It's good to hear everyone is well."
Suddenly as Nessa stopped in a play bow, Harlequin found herself lost in another quiet chuckle. "Oh no, a giant wolf are you? Make sure not to squash me with all your growing!" Her soft laugh continued. "And fast too. Not a bad combination!"
All this made her wonder exactly what Nessa would be like when she was all grown up. She hoped they would not loose the sort of silly relationship she and her had. Perhaps one day she'd even have a family of her own. Harle mentally made a grown- and then she'd be an old wolf for sure!
"So what are you two up to this fine day?" She grinned, her pink paws gently moving over the soft stone.

Nessa couldn't wipe the grin from her face, and it remained, taking on a pleased, bashful air as Harle continued to dote on her. The young wolf pulled herself back to her feet, shaking her coat for good measure, the fine fur on her hips inherited from her father fluffing out like feathers. She planted her pitchy black paws together primly in a more dignified position, taking a seat on her cobalt haunches to gaze up at Harle lounging on the rock.
Yero, still much bigger than his daughter, could keep eye contact with the other more easily. His silky black tail wagged gently in the genial air. "Truth be told we were looking for you." He said, giving the younger female a bit of a roguish smile. "I've promised Nessa a hunting lesson and she was hoping maybe you could help out, seeing as I'm a bit rusty on land animals." He wuffed warmly in low tones.
Nessa glanced up eagerly with olive eyes, tongue still lolling gently. "Remember? About the deer? That you said crashed into eachother?" She yipped, hoping to jog Harle's mind back to that conversation that the female might remember her generous offer.

"Looking for me?" Harle questioned, unable to hide her flattery. Her tail gently shook, as she rose to look a little more adult like in conversation with Yero. She rather admired the black wolf, and was filled with a certain amount of pride to be considered knowledgeable enough to aide in Nessa's lessons. "I would love to." She grinned, and looked over to Nessa.
"Deer, huh?" A big grin crossed about her face. "Well that'll be quite an event. You'd probably be best hunting some smaller animals first, but I know where some deer are we can go take a look at. Or maybe we can coordinate something if we see an opportunity-" She added, remembering that Yero was in company, and with two adult wolves there wouldn't be too much threat to trying a bit of deer hunting. She was cautious for solo hunts though, having seen the types of injuries lone's frequently suffered. "And we're at just the right season to see some head thumping."
This would be very interesting! Harle thought, her mind already bubbling. She had so many things to talk about hunting, and she was glad to see how eager Nessa was. Hopefully Yero wouldn't grow tired of her predespondency to ambling. With a small bound she hopped off the rock, looking about the autumn worn earth and the dancing leaves. This was a good time for a lesson like this.
Deciding to bring herself back to a more informative tone, she looked over to Yero. "So what did you have in mind?" She quirked, smiling amiably.
