====== SeFlaurinds ======
^^ SeFlaurinds ^^ ^ Physical Type | Humanoid | ^ Species| Florus Sapiens | ^ Genetic Type | Plant-like Mammal | ^ Homeworld | Perrinnia (C35) | ^ Population | 200 million |
SeFlaurinds are a Unique sentient humanoid species that can be best described as plant-mammals. Though not actually plants, they exhibit many plant-like qualities that make them function as a plant, in the sense of food/energy production, and their breathing. For example, their skin cells are photosynthetic, and provide much of the energy they need simply from standing in the sun. Though they don't need to rely on Photosynthesis for energy, it is a popular method as it takes less effort to gain said energy. Seflaurinds can Interbreed successfully with Terrans. ==== Physical Appearance ====
SeFlaurinds look rather like a human, with the most notable differences being coloring of the skin and hair. Their bodies are built slender and graceful, and they are almost never fat, as most of their energy is produced via Photosynthesis rather than stored fat. 90% of SeFlaurinds have an overall green skin tone, ranging from nearly Neon Green to deep shades of Hunter Green. the other 10% have varying skin tones, including Red, Yellow, Orange, Brown, and Violet. Though these latter colors are rare, many SeFlaurinds have striping, flecking, and shading of those colors, the most common among them being a lighter shade of green with violet flecking. The "Whites" of a SeFlaurind's eyes are a pastel green, even though they aren't photosynthetic. Eye colors go through the range of normal eye colors for humans, though green and violet are the most common occurrences. Along with the rest of a SeFlaurind's appearance, their hair is most commonly green, in a wide variety of shades. That is not to say they do not have other colors, though the only ones they commonly share with humans is blond. That is not to say black and brown are overly rare, just very uncommon. Other common colors include pink, purple, blue, and red.
SeFlaurinds tend to be fairly tall, though those living in colder climates are notably short. average height for a male is 5'5" to 6'10", average height for a female is 5'2" to 6'4". That is not to say they cannot become taller, and several SeFlaurinds over 8 feet tall can be found just about anywhere you go, especially near the equator. The tallest recorded SeFlaurind was 10'2", but getting to this height is immensely rare, as the body cannot support itself when it reaches that kind of height.
==== Unique Traits/Features ==== === Energy production/Respiration ===
SeFlaurinds are unique in that they have plant and animal qualities. A SeFlaurind's skin is usually green due to the clorophyll inside them, which are used for photosynthesis. For photosynthesis to work, SeFlaurinds must breathe in CO2 and breathe out O2. Because of this, they could share a completely enclosed space with a normal, oxygen breathing animal for an indefinite amount of time, provided both have proper food.
=== Reproduction === Like the mammals they are, SeFlaurinds reproduce sexually, just like humans. Unlike humans, however, Female SeFlaurinds can control their hormones and decide when to start the egg growing after fertilization, so, if an egg becomes fertilized during a drought or food shortage, it can be 'stored' to grow later during times of plenty. Due to this, the gestation period can take several years, even though the egg is dormant. A normal gestation period, however, is around 6 standard months. birth is standard live birth, with one child being common, twins rare, and triplets and so on extremely unheard-of. The Females also have mammary glands, though their milk is very different from regular mammal's milk, being very high in sugar. This is necessary because children are born lacking chlorophyll, and cannot produce their own energy for half a standard year.

very unique, but the only thing that's kind of weird is the whole how-they-came-to-be thing. I think you'd be better having them as a completely native species rather than genetically altered humans.

Oh, shoot. Forgot about that. I'm porting these from a WIP for another RP 'verse, so different history is needed. I'll go fix that up now.

Should add cultural info so we know about them beyond their biology.
