Introduction
The land of Cycus, although peaceful, once it was not always so... Years ago, a great war broke out between many of the nations and kingdoms over various reasons, most of which are now believed to have been a coupe by a man by the name of Sydren Blackwater, for you see it was during this great war, a strange object was born. Called the Shadow Crystal, it was the result of everyone's hate and anger towards their fellow brothers, which spawned this dark object. When the great war came to an end, at the center of one battlefield, the Shadow Crystal rested.
Embedded in the ground pulsing with dark energies, the Crystal was brought to one nation which had remained neutral throughout the whole war, the Kingdom of Myurn, where it came into the hands of my master, the great scholar and mage Sydren Blackwater. Deep inside his castle, me and my master studied the dark object, although I did not show any ill signs, my master did. He became rather aggressive, possessive, and protective of the crystal, soon I found myself cast out of his service, left to wander alone. It was after I had left Myrun, that it happened.... As I would later discover, no man could be in contact with the Shadow Crystal, for you see it can corrupt the mind, and as my master fell to it's chaotic calls, he unleashed pure hell unto the nations.
Using it's powers, he summoned forth a massive army of hell spawn, creatures of myth and terror and declared war on all living things... The battles were fierce, if it were not for magic, and the fact the nations united against a common threat we all would have died. Losses were high, more deaths then the great war, but onwards the great nations pushed until they attacked Sydren's castle and as they swarmed over what remained of his men, Sydren did the unthinkable... Focusing his dark powers, he destroyed the crystal... Himself, his men, the soldiers, the entire continent and the Kingdom of Myrun ceased to exist... All that remains are small fragments of islands and useless charred pieces of rock, no one knows how many had died that day... but the tolls were above anything that could be counted. With that situation dealt with, the nations washes their hands of the crystal, not wanting to risk their own lands being destroyed further, the crystal was deemed too dangerous and that anyone who made contact with one was to be killed immediately.
While at first, quite a few people died because of their unexpected contact with the crystal, as time passed people seemed to forget, I only wish I could forget so easily... Most have forgotten the name Sydren, those that do remember say that he is dead, I however say he is not, he is still alive, waiting for the right moment to strike and return to this world. I refuse to let that happen, if I hadn't stood back when everything first happened, things probably would have been different, I own this to the world, I must keep Sydren from returning, and collect all the Shadow Crystal Fragments... Before all hope is lost.

Nations of Cycus(Details and Information)
The Nations of Cycus are as follows.
Burren Empire Although by landmass it is not the largest, the Burren Empire is the largest Empire in Cycus, currently led by High Lord Ferdustine the III. The capital of the Empire, Constoplis, is home to the Grand Castle Copmah, which sits at the center of a massive city built in a circle around it. Surrounded by a great wall along it's borders, and the Grand Castle Copmah at the city center, Constoplis is a man made marvel which has been called a creation that will stand till the end of time. Burren is home to millions of people and has the largest military force ever created in Cycus at it's disposal. Although it's never been determined, it's rumored that it's military might ranges at almost one million men, but it's quite possible they have more but Burren has never revealed their true army size. By far, Burren is home to castles that might even rival the Grand Castle Copmah, as always they dislike giving details about their internal status. Each city as well as the main port city Urstan is home to one of these great castles. Known for their cavalry as well as their archers, those of Burren believe that military might is the key to keeping a nation safe, while their mages are not the best in Cycus, they train heavily in offensive magic and with the sheer numbers they can bring to a fight can be very difficult to defeat. Strewn across Burren are great mountains, named after the various leaders who have led the Empire through the ages, they almost seem to form defensive walls that no one can overcome. Weather tends to be fairly cold but winters are dry, Burren people are hardy and seem to handle most types of weather, even desert temperatures, this is believed through rigorous training still done to this day and conquests of long ago. Kingdom of Aulster Aulster is probably the eldest standing monarchy in Cycus. Formed long ago, it has seen many rulers, each whom are honored in an ancient archive which holds some of the oldest texts in Cycus. Most which talk about old arcane magics, it holds large pieces of the lands past history, and is probably the only place you will find information on the shadow crystal and the great wars of old. Resting in the capital city of Alexander. It is from these texts, and it's old age that Aulster is home to some of the most powerful mages, although it was not so when Myurn was around, it's because of this that Aulster is the last link to the old magics. While not officially a port, the city of Grayhill, and it's nearby neighbor port Skyle are Aulster's links to the nations around it. Grayhill is more of a naval shipyard and military base then the friendly port Skyle, however both still see much trade and commerce. Byden Castle, located near the borders of Herban and Cheries is the only quick access route into Aulster, mostly due to the Uripies Mountain range which stretches along much of Aulster's borders. Maxwell and Torlie are general cities without much defense purpose, as anyone attacking Aulster would first have to go through Byrden, and would be more interested in Alexander. Aside from a strong army of mages, Aulster is home to a knights order, a heavy cavalry which is said to be what led to the Knights Cross order in Juden. Called the Knights Aulster, it is believed to have happened long long ago when some of the order left Aulster as part of an expedition. Weather is a bit unruly in Aulster, mostly from the mountains which either catch or release weather, which makes prediction very difficult. With plains, and rivers spread across Aulster, mostly due to the mountains, farmland is a luxury Aulster does not have. It's leader, King Durgbovn(Durg-Bov-in) is a just ruler and is very popular, not only among the Aulster people, but among other nations as well. It has been said he is a very powerful magic user, and is not to be misjudged. Kingdom of Cheries Cheries is probably one of the most liked, but yet disliked nations in Cycus. Having been somewhat of a wild card, Cheries is probably the only nation, currently accepting people who long ago had been changed by the Shadow Crystal Fragments. While they still dislike certain types of races, some have been accepted much to the distress of the other nations. While Aulster supports Cheries and is currently in the process of implementing this, Herban has openly opposed this, mainly from the reason they are almost in a constant war with these sub human species as they call them. Other nations either have little contact with these people, or have only aggressive ones. Under the leadership of King Heseptus II Cheries is currently in a state of change towards what some believe a great event, while others think it a betrayal to their own kind. Cheries is the largest nation in Cycus, the capital city Albero being home to the kingdom's oldest castle and place of the monarchy. Castle Cielo, located southwest of Albero, is similar to Aulsters Byden castle, however it serves as a military institute instead of a defense fortress. Most of the Cheries military is trained here. With three ports (Syss, Amico, and Geld) along with the cities of Angelo, Uccisone, Vito, Dea, and Desierto, Cheries is home to probably the largest population concentration, followed by Burren. Although they are not allowed to join the military, Non Humans are able to contribute as best they can to helping the nation. Cheries is well known for it's master archers, skilled at long distance shooting, they can decimate large numbers of men long before they even get into melee combat. Weather in Cheries is a little hot, and the fact it is home to a desert, where the city Desierto is located, weather tends to be fairly mild and the winters short, this allows for strong agricultural productions, most of which are helped along by the non humans or cross humans. Kritocracy of Juden Juden is ruled by the Order of the Knights Cross, symbolized by the Brown Cross on a white background that they use for their national flag, as well as their military dress and battle standard. Known for their knights, healers, and especially their swordsmen, also called the Knights Order, they rule through law and a judges council made up of the most senior members of the Order. People from Juden are usually quite trustworthy as anyone caught of crimes in the Kritocracy is sentenced quite harshly, often stated as a preventative measure, which has worked quite well to this date. The capital of Juden is the city of Urtiel, a great city made up of many temples and courthouses, it is surrounded by mountains and forests making it not only a beautiful city, but a grand fortress when combined with Juden's military might. Port Prospect is the only main port in Juden, which makes it a vital location which is always heavily defended. Although not as grand as Urtiel, it has the similar temples and courthouses, and a large port facility which also houses Juden's naval fleet. Quiten and Hamma are often called twin cities, although Hamma is larger, they look quite similar to each other and combined are home to the majority of Juden's population. Weather in Juden is fairly mild, although it does get snow, winters tend to be gentle. In the northern tip of Juden however, the mountains are very dangerous, it is because of these mountains that Juden is the way it is, being so far north. There are lakes and rivers, which flow through rather flat and fertile grasslands which can be prone to flooding, and the conifer forests scattered across Juden are also a sight worth seeing. Kingdom of Salom The Kingdom of Salom is currently facing a civil war. A Republic has already formed from the eastern part of it and the west is barely stable. Travel to Salom is currently forbidden because it is far to dangerous until things have been settled. Requests for aid have come from Burren and Aulster, while Herban has flatly refused, not to anyone's surprise. The capital of the kingdom being the city of Salom is in ruins, after a violent revolt which started the whole ordeal caused the destruction of almost a quarter of the city. The current king, Derick the IV was almost killed in the riots when some his guards turned on him but were quickly taken care of by Salom's military general, Gregory Tynath. Derick has been trying hard to put an end to this revolt but that outcome does not seem possible at this time. Republic of Salom The Republic of Salom is a recently formed nation which broke away from the Kingdom of Salom. It is currently fighting a civil war in an attempt to earn it's freedom and independence. The capital which has been formed in the city of Yuan and what men they were able to muster are now fighting for their very lives, for their very freedoms. Technocracy of Demose Belief in that technology is the way to rule, Demose is home of the Technocracy and also the leading producer of many unique devices and machines. By far the greatest invention they have ever created is the steam ship, making use of a giant balloon of canvas and hot air allowing it to carry people through the skies. Hightly is the capital of Demose and home to the organization often called M.A.D by people for things they have created are extreme and more likely to hurt someone then be of use. Regardless, Demose is still a great use to all the nations. Although magic does exist, it is not heavily practiced in Demose as people there believe that the most powerful thing in the world is better technology. The most interesting devices they have made are the cannon and pistol, which fire balls of metal at high speeds to cause injury, while mages can deflect these weapons using magic, they are still very effective regardless. Home to the ports of Nili and Ero, Demose sees much trade, exports in the form of technology, and imports in the form of many raw materials, often used as payment for their devices. Glish, Her'man, and the Capital Highly are home to many great forges and buildings of brick and metal. Some wonder how they can get by with all that smoke and steam which comes from their great workplaces, but once again Demose relies on technology to prevent harm to the lands around them. While home to small forests and a number of mountain ranges and a few lakes and rivers, Demose sees little mining and is low in mineral resources, making trade vital for their continued production. The city of Rance, is a rather dark and mysterious place, said to be home to some of the most dangerous inventors in Demose, travel there is usually forbidden because many things are being thought of and made in secret, often used as a testing facility. Demose doesn't have a military per say, although they have soldiers trained in the use of their unique weapons, treaties it has with all other nations allow it to not need a large standing army. Weather itself around Demose is probably controlled by some form of technology, while it can get fairly stormy and wet, terrain as well as other factors make it a fairly temperate place. The current head of the Demos Technocracy is John the Forge, son of Fredrick the Hammer. Orden Republic The Orden Republic is by far the smallest nation in Cycus, although small, they are well known for their democratic system and have always had a dislike for monarchy. Once ruled by the cruel Emperor, Tuon Hue, Orden revolted and overthrew him, and after he was put to death, they created the Republic which is seen today. Customs of Orden are important, festivals, spiritual rites, military, every aspect of Orden is led by sacred customs which are almost as old as Orden itself. They have a fairly small army, but given the nation's size, it's understandable why. They follow strict military codes and although few are deadly in combat, using their unique training, one being their unique combination of magic and swords to defeat their foes. Weather is very wet and the terrain rough, there is but a single lake which is maintained from snow melt in the surrounding mountains as well as the rain. The capital city, Orden, is home to not only the Ministers of the Republic, but a grand palace which was once home to Tuon Hue. Now turned into a museum, the palace Qunshi is home to many ancient treasures of Orden on display for all to see. The port cities of Wyle and Ozzle are Odren's link to the world around it and see more unique commerce and tourism as people travel to the capital to see the many sights or to the city of Criss, home to one of the oldest temples the 'Kishu Temple' in Cycus where a monk order keeps not only it in grand condition but trains in a form of hand to hand combat that is believed by many to be not only powerful but majestic, a grand sight to see. Kingdom of Himo The kingdom of Himo is known across the land of Cycus for having the best intelligence and information. Secretive and closed, the only thing people see of Himo is Port Sclay where the nation does trade and if paid enough offers information on just about anything. While the mainland kingdoms of Cheries and Aulster have little to hide, other nations will do almost anything to not only find out about each other, but also try to capture Himo spies. Although it's openly talked that Cheries is the only nation to allow non humans to live among humans, Himo is home to several... very secretive tribes of non humans, who have offered their services in exchange for protection from the outside world which is said to have been accepted. Although strange creatures showing Himo military colors have been reported, none have ever been captured to this date. The most common sighting is that of fox people, able to transform themselves into almost anything. Other then knowing that the captial of Himo is Suma, and the names of it's cities Ornox, Briten, Nahn, and Kyo, little else is known about it's interrior, not because people won't say, but no one who has gone to check has ever returned. The leader of Himo is not known, nor the exact details of their strange military forces and structure, but it's believed they have some relation to the Orden Republic military traditions and code. Herban Empire The Herban Empire is probably the most agressive of any Nation in Cycus. While they are not as strong as the Burren Empire, they have suffered throughout the ages and are now out for revenge. While they don't openly attack the kingdoms of Aulster and Cheries, they refuse to trade with them, and most other nations for that matter. This does cause problems, as the Mountains in the Herban Empire are home to great mineral deposits, specially iron which is useful when it comes to making high quality steel. They use this to get most of their weapons from Demose, the only nation they openly trade with. The Capital city, Zulem, is by far one of the most unusual sights. While on a map it is right out in the open, in truth Zulem is a city which could almost be called underground. Built in a crater from a meteor impact, Zulem is a massive city with walls almost impossible to destroy, mostly from using not only steel but fragments from the meteor. It is from this that it's ultimate defense is known, a magical shield created through very difficult means, a Demose creation for a massive donation at some point in history. It is this magical shield which protects the city from siege equipment and the thick walls and strong gates that protect it from men. The towers of Zulem are home to many deadly war machines making it the most dangerous fortress on the whole continent. Often compared to the Burren Empire's Grand Castle Copmah, Zulem was not built by it's people and is not nearly as old. The city of Turz is on the border of Cheries, and the Port of Fortuna is close to Aulster. Both are semi fortresses which are there, not really for the people, but mostly for the early warning they can provide. They as well as the towers which dot the borders of Herban are there souly to allow the capital enough time to prepair for any invasion. Herban is known for it's skilled infantry, using Herban steel and weapon crafting skills, they are like walking automations which advance, almost immune to everything thrown at them and wash over their foes using sword, shield, lance, and bow. Given their closed off nature, only those from the Nation itself know the weather, the terrian, and the cities of Omaro, Kati, and Ismark. Kingdom of Myurn(destroyed) Myurn was once a great trade nation, and a mediator of many troubles, with it's destruction much information on it was lost, nearly all of the people born in Myurn were killed when it was destroyed, finding anyone from Myurn is very difficult. They were known for their strong mages and skilled scholars, one reason which led to Sydren's path that ultimately led to not only his death but his homelands death.

Races, Technology, Clothing, and Magic
Races Although there are humans, other races do exist, but they are creatures created by Shadow Fragments. When a fragment enters into a persons body, they transform into a strange creature, usually another race, such as a vampire, werewolf, demon, and so forth. The real danger is that some of these creatures can infect people and turn them into "demi" creatures of itself. Until the fragment creature is killed, the "demi" creatures will not return to normal. Although some types can be seriously dangerous, such as skeletons and zombies in that they can infect and grow quickly, others are really powerful, although not all the powerful creatures can infect people. While some seem to be able to live happy lives, secluded from society, most tend to become aggressive and are usually hunted down by nation armies in the end. Those that are able to control themselves, depending on what they become, often live in their city, village, or town, but have to be very careful so they are not caught. Called non humans, or cross humans by people in Cheries and Aulster, they are called sub humans by all other nations, it's unsure of what Himo calls them, as no one knows anything really about Himo. While the dangerous kind, use infection to create more of themselves, the friendlier non humans breed just as any humans would. It is from recent cross breeding between humans and non humans in some rare cases which has led to Cheries declaration of non human freedom and Aulster's preparations for a similar declaration.
To quick sum, if your a non human, or a half human something, your most likely to be accepted in Cheries, and likely to be accepted in Aulster. Any other nation, not counting Himo, will more then likely kill you on sight, or imprision you and experiment.
Technology Technology in Cycus is a mix of fantasy and some modern themes. Gunpowder, as mentioned in Demose info bit, is used in guns, cannon, and fireworks. Steam and flight are also included. All fantasy items, from katana to daggers exist, so there are no real restrictions on weapons as long as they don't go too crazy. Do note magic is stronger then guns, but by contrast it's easier to use a gun then learn magic.
Clothing Clothing in Cycus varies, although most people stick with the medieval motif, there are nations which have a more, oriental style of clothing. Armors throughout the medieval era can be found, which means samurai armor to full plate mail is allowed.
Magic Magic comes in the forms of a number of elements: Wind, Fire, Water, Earth, Light, and Darkness. It is through these elements that others are created, such as water leading to ice, wind to lightning, earth to metal, and fire to steam. Light and Darkness focus more on healing(for light) and the shadow fragments(darkness) not many people can use dark magic, only those with a controlled shadow fragment can, and quite often when they use this magic, it's like waving a sign saying I have a fragment and am breaking the law. Light and Darkness also mix with the elements above, with light containing water and wind, and darkness containing fire and earth. Through the six elements, each has a polar opposite which tends to be stronger or weaker depending on the type of spell. No real limits here, just make sure the spell can relate back to one of the listed elements.

Skeleton and CharactersUnless you already seen something which you like above, I suggest waiting till I have all nation information up for making a character SkeletonGaiaName:Characters Name:Age:Race: Gender:Place of Birth: nation of birth, along with place born, could be a main city on the map or something you make up Personality:Likes: Dislikes: Occupation/Job: What do you do, or what did you do Appearance: Pic, writing, both Weapons:Abilities: Applies with race Magic: If you use spells, put what types you can do Bio: General bio, explain stuff about you, and how you got to where you are today Current CharactersHeavenly Angel Goddess Characters Name: Alexis Ornen Age: 14 Race: Human Gender: Female Place of Birth: Aulster, Isulde Hamlet southwest of Byden Castle Personality: Alexis is a quiet yet rather head strong girl. She doesn't like talking about a lot of stuff but when she has a reason to do something she goes and does it, regardless of how difficult or challenging may be. She is afraid of failing and always pushes herself to do her absolute best when she does anything making her quite dependable, but when she faulters, it takes quite a bit to get her to calm down and return to normal. Likes: Helping others in need, taking care of animals, repaying her debt, cooking, reading, and practicing magic Dislikes: Monsters(some of the non human races), Violence, failure Occupation/Job: Farm hand/Mage Appearance: Alexis although small at 4'6 and quite frail looking is quite tough. Working on a farm has kept her in shape, although she has always looked rather sickly. Her eyes are a soft crystal blue and she uses a number of different colored ties for her hair, usually dependant on her mood at the start of the day. AlexisWeapons: None Abilities: None Magic: Alexis has magical powers that while unrefined due to lack of teaching, are quite powerful and on par with standard military trained mages. She is very unique in the fact she has control and use of dark magic. Bio: Alexis was born in the small hamlet Isulde, where she lost both her parents when she was fairly young. She doesn't remember much about them, but she was taken care of, in a way, by the town and ended up finding work as a farm hand to the hamlets main food producer because she seemed to be very good with animals. It was during her time working on this farm that something happened that changed her life... (see the intro post) It was this that made Alexis into who she is today, and she wishes to do everything to return to normal. Draqx Characters Name: Draqx Age: 24 Race: Demi-Doppleganger Gender: Male Place of Birth: Rance Technocracy of DemosePersonality: Inquisitive, curious, sometimes prone to be distracted by the oddest things, a bit random and often uses practical jokes and wordplay. Likes: Makeing things make sense, making things, figuring things out. Dislikes: things not adding up, things not working, and being stimied by something, having to rely on his abilities for too long at a time. Occupation/Job: Traveling Scientest/Diplomat of Demose Appearance: All though his appearance can sometimes change very slightly due to his heritage he is generally reconisable by his labcoat and his M.A.D. Scienetest hairstyle. He is usually 185cm, 100kg, with hazel eyes and pale skin. He often wears clothing with lots of pockets, a sturdy belt with pouches and loops for tools and things, and a fair sized backpack stuffed to the gunwhales. Weapons: Tools, and custom made apparati and devices, mainly involving his main line of reasearch and a backup short barreled scattergun with a sort of blunderbuss end. Abilities: Being a Scientest he is able to study things and find out how they work, though he is an oddity due to his heritage that he tries to use magic in his machines and apparatus whenever possible, though this is somewhat unstable... also being demi-doppleganger means he can take some aspects of people that he has met and use them, though prolonged periods of this means the onset of intense migranes. Magic: Due to his demi-doppleganger abilities he can channel the raw forces in moderate amounts depending on the aspects he copies... but usually does not have enough to control it very much... basic spells are an effort and usually take too much out of him to be worth it when he can make something that does the job much better and more efficently with the same energy levels. Bio: Draqx was born in Rance to two interesting parents, A mage and a scientest, that used both of thier abiliteis to bring about some of the most spectacular inventions the city had seen. Both were very good in thier field, and both very careful with their designs so that they had one of the highest safety rating in the city. Draqx learned much from both, though when one of his parents was found to secretly have been a doppleganger the city was sad to break up the duo and quietly allowed the doppleganger to leave. Unknown to all, save himself and his parents, Draqx was a demi-doppleganger and had learned to control and suppress his abilites so that he could borrow aspects of another person and use that for a sort time without changing his appearance much, though doing this for any leangth of time caused migranes. Draqx eventually was accepted as a scientest in his own right, and was accepted to be a traveling scientest and diplomat, a moderate honour as he would get to see the world and gather ideas, as well as keep Demose safe though treaty and deplomacy. He would also get the chance to facilitate communication between his parents, the one in the city of Rance and the Doppleganger that traveled the world and often seemed to meet Draqx, for the passage of messages and to keep the family up to date. If anything ever happened to them his parents wanted their friends to become the owners of the bar and also become Jade's parents. His adopted parents are the only parents he ever knew. They were like any normal parents, except that they were both dark elves and males. The one he saw as his "father" was always quite a good fighter and would teach him to be skilled with a short sword. The one he saw as his "mother" was a mage who would teach him magic. As Jade grew up he learned lots of important lessons and values. He worked in the tavern for his parents as a way to earn the teachings of magic and fighting from them. It was always a perfect set up and Jade's life for 16 years was wonderful. Though, for Jade, he wanted more in his life, he really wanted to always travel around the world. He was always stuff in Albero working in the tavern. Jade now travels with world trying his best to show that non-humans weren't as bad as humans thought they were. It was through his first hand knowledge that brought about his passion of making the world a better place. NPC Characters Name: Aron Don Age: 38 Race: Human Gender: Male Place of Birth: Burren Empire/Constoplis Personality: Aron is a rather harsh person, he has a style for not hiding things behind words, he's the type who will say whats on his mind, even if people hate it. He doesn't like many people, and doesn't have the personality to hold onto friends. He listens and does what his employer requests and will do it even if he doesn't want to, after all a sellsword does as his employer wishes. Likes: Money, fighting, and women(really likes women), alcohol, gambling, and winning Dislikes: losing(hates it), cowards, Non-Humans Occupation/Job: Sell sword/Mercenary Appearance: CharacterWeapons: Burren Military issue Longsword, Abilities: None Magic: Basic elemental magic Bio: Aron like most people from Burren joined a military academy at a young age, and at the age of 18 became part of the military. He spent almost 12 years in the military, he's fought non-humans and humans alike, and it was during this service that he developed his strong distaste for non-humans, and for the military. He was constantly causing trouble, but then it was the result of corrupt officials and officers above him which led to his bad reputation in Burren. As a result he was shipped to Salom as part of Burren's help when it came to the civil war. It was shortly after his arrival that he vanished. He's traveled and served as a mercenary for over 8 years now, he dislikes talking about his parents, who probably think he is dead somewhere in Salom. He was hired by a young girl, he doesn't understand how someone so young could afford his bill, even why they need a mercenary in the first place, but regardless, he does his duty. He currently serves as Alexis' Body Guard.

As the full moon sat in the clear star filled sky, a small glow of orange light in a small clearing of a forest was added by a faint rise of smoke. Near the fire sat a man, sword at his side on the ground, and a young girl laying on a blanket with another on top of her. The man kept watch while the girl slept, although her sleep was not as peaceful as she looked laying their quiet, inside of her dreams, she was reliving a moment which forever haunted her...---- It wasn't that long ago, a few years maybe the girl had been working on a farm during the hot summers day in a field of corn when a small quake knocked her off her feet. Thinking it an earthquake, she quickly got to her feet only to be knocked down again, feeling a small pain in her ankle, she winced and struggled to hold back tears which slowly gathered behind her soft and gentle eyes. It happened in an instant, the corn around her suddenly vanished, turned to ash, and about 200 feet away she could make out a large figure that was moving. She nearly got sick when she saw it clearly... a beast, that looked like some man, with extra limps and swollen and dripping with blood and pus. With a loud roar, the creature raised several arms and swung them down at the ground below it with a loud thud which was probably what had knocked down.
Unable to move, she could only watch as this monster fought with a man who himself was bloody. They were coming towards her as they fought, and she was not sure of what to do. She tried to move, she pulled herself along with her hands on the ground, but the shaking was getting stronger, the pain in her ankle growing from the vibrations. She couldn't escape as the distance grew to almost 100 feet and she could see through her teared filled eyes, something she could not describe, it was not human, it was a horrible monster, one of the non-humans perhaps, or maybe something worse, she didn't know. The man fighting it raised his hand and let forth a green spark which lept into the beast sending green energy across it's body. Roaring with pain, the beast charged forward and struck the man with a mighty swing from one of it's bloodied and torn hands knocking him towards the girl and creating a large hole in the ground where it's hand met the earth, which was quickly followed by a sickening crack, which caused the arm to fall off, sending blood splurting out onto the dirt and earth below.
As the thing advanced the man got up and began to chant some words, that she could not understand. Covering her eyes with her tiny hands she was nearly blinded by a flash of bright light and a deafening roar followed by a loud thud which from the force threw her into the air. As she was flipped over and the tears cleared from her eyes she saw something exit the beast and fly towards her...---- The girl sleeping peacefully a moment before sat up and screamed and clutched her chest and started to cough up blood. Or at least she thought she was, in fact she was still caught between dream and reality. No blood was leaving her body, but the pain in her chest, where her heart was, that was real.
"Alexis!" The man said as he got up and came over to her and held her up. "Alexis, can you hear me!" The man said shaking Alexis in an attempt to wake her which made her scream again and immediately start panting.
Alexis' grip on her heart slowly weakened and she nearly collasped but thank's to her guard Aron, she did not. "I... am fine Sir Aron, it was.... just a very bad dream." Alexis coughed a bit as the pain in her chest slowly went away as if the night itself were slowly consuming it. "I.. need water please... " Alexis coughed again and took the container which Aron handed her and started to guzzle it. Swallowing so much, so quickly, only made her coughing worse, but it helped make the pain in her chest go away. Dropping the container as her coughing grew more violent she held her hand up, telling Aron she would be fine. It took a few minutes, but Alexis was breathing normally again, although she was noticably shaken.
"I thank thee sir Aron, you are... most kind, to put up with me... I do not mean to cause you trouble..." Alexis said finally, sounding quite distressed.
Aron grumbled. "Your the one paying my bill, I just do my job, and how many times must I tell you to not call me sir, Aron Don! That is my name... I prefer Aron... and anyways.. I don't sleep much."
"Sir Aron... I am... sorry..." Alexis said looking away, bringing her hands to her chest and her legs close to her body.
Aron shook his head. "Alright, alright, just enough with the I'm sorry, you should get back to sleep if you can, we have a few miles to go before we reach the Dea, from there we can get some more people to help us, and you can ask that guy... where we need to go..." Aron grunted again and walked over to a small pile of sticks and put a couple on the fire. The whole logic behind this was always difficult for him to understand.
"I owe my life to him Sir Aron, gathering these simple crystals is the least I can do to repay him!" Alexis winced a little, she had shouted and shook her head. "I am sorry for shouting, I..."
"Alright I said! Just get back to sleep, you need it more then I do..." Aron replied as he held his hands up as if trying to hold back some imaginary force that had been directed towards him.
Alexis nodded and slowly laid her head down on the blanket and pulled the other one back over her and closed her eyes. A few tears fell as she thought of what she constantly kept seeing nearly every time she tried to rest. She also thought of her chest, how it always caused her pain, she then thought of her small pack which held a black fist sized crystal. She moved a little and felt it press gently against her hip and knowing it was safe started to drift off to sleep.
Aron went back to his sword and sat down and put another stick onto the fire. "Crazy freak... making a little girl do something like this, all for a bunch of worthless gemstones probably, ain't seen nothin like em before..." Aron mumbled to himself as he thought of where they found one of them. "Nearly cost me my arm.... I ain't paid enough for this... simple crystals in deed, got to be some magic behind em, or else this... mage wouldn't have any interest in em!"
As Alexis drifted back to sleep, Aron was left to continue to think about why she had to collect these crystals, all because some stranger saved her life, he had never met him, nor did he know how she talked with him. Pushing these thoughts aside he sighed. "I'm just a mercenary..."
----
As always, Aron made sure they were up and moving not long after sunrise. They didn't eat anything, upon Aron's suggestion that they could eat as much as they wished once they reached Dea. While they would have had nearly half a day's walk, they got lucky when a traveling merchant picked them up and offered them a ride. Taking only a couple hours, the merchant let them off near Dea and headed off to where ever he was going. Aron grumbled as he stretched his back out some. "Stupid carts always strain it, how bout you? Bruised beyond belief?" Aron asked Alexis only to notice she was not standing beside him. "What the?" Turning around and looking frantically, he noticed Alexis already walking towards the northern gates of Dea and in anger, Aron clenched his fist. "Idiot girl, no idea how dangerous any large city can be!" Aron ran off after Alexis, completely forgetting about his back in the process.((AND WE ARE OPEN surprised sadly.. I don't have town maps sweatdrop I'm not that great at them. Dea is a massive city with a castle at the center and a wall that circles the city, 4 gates, one for each direction, allow access to Dea, and the city itself is full of shops, merchants, and people trying to sell stuff ninja I chose this place because given our characters, it'd offer the best possible reasons for meeting up. If you have questions, ask ninja ))

Renee sat motionless in her treetop perch, only the gentle rise and fall of her chest and an occasional bat of her eyes were all the movement she'd give. She had trained her body and mind to be quiet and still while she was hunting, she licked her lower lip as she went over the information she was given on her prey.
His name was Mathiew Horton, at first there were only allegations of non human slavery and poaching, but more and more non humans started to disappear. Mr. Horton has a small establishment deep in the forest which has a private access route to a port. Mr. Horton and his men would hunt down the more exotic of the non humans and kill them for their body parts, horns, teeth, claws, tusks, fur, etc and sell them to the highest bidder. To the lesser non exotic would be sold as slaves, again to the highest bidder. She was sent to rid of this 'problem'.
Renee watched him work, and almost couldn't restrain herself as she watch him do his work. An anger, a fury built up inside of her that she almost couldn't contain. Though she was silent and still. Today was the day that Mr. Horton would meet his end.
She's been working this job for two years or so. Renee pretended to be trapped, and they brought her in, having nothing worth killing for they kept her as a slave. For awhile she didn't have access to her weapons, the outside world, she was confined to the personal quarters of Mr. Horton himself. She worked for him as his misuse. Renee had the ability to transform herself, mold herself for a job that needed to get done. After she showed no interest of leaving or running away they gave her free reign.
Tonight she'd find him in the bathhouse, she'd give him his nightly massage, tonight she'd kill him. She would also free those who are in captivity. Those who are caught do not know who she is or what she was going to do.
She'd set them all free.

A smile could be seen on his face as he had finally made it to the city of Dea. Even though he had been travelling for almost a whole year now, he was still always happy when he made it to his destination. This wasn't the first time he had come to Dea, when he first started his journey that's the first place he went after Albero. It was the same this time when Jade left Albero, it wasn't that long ago when he stopped back where he was born to visit his parents. Now, he was once again leaving Albero, and he wasn't sure when he'd be back again. Either way, it didn't matter to him, he was now a traveller after all and that's exactly what he would do.
Jade slowly made his was through one of the large gates that were around the entire city. Dea was always overwhelming to him just because of the massive size of it. It wasn't too hard to get lost in a big city. His eyes wandered about looking up and down the street he happened to be on. Now that he was there, it was probably a good idea to find a place to just relax and rest his feet for a bit. Though, Jade wasn't that used to Dea just yet so he'd just have to find somewhere by walking around.
As he was walking he wasn't really paying attention to where he was going and ended up bumping into someone hard enough that he ended up on the ground. It wasn't a very graceful fall and right away he felt bad about what happened. He looked at whom he had bumped into and to him it was a young girl. "Oh, I'm very sorry, are you alright?" His eyes then turned to a man who was clearly travelling with her and he laughed weakly. Slowly Jade got to his feet. "Is there anything I can do to help?" He asked in a worried tone as he was hoping that he didn't hurt her.
((So yeah, I really had nothing Jessie, so yeah, I just bumped into your character, hopefully you don't mind. I was really stuck and yeah, not my best post. u.u))

Alexis was also not paying attention, and when Jade hit her she too was knocked off her feet and hit the ground. "Ouch!" Alexis said as she winced due to the pain from the fall. Instinctively, she held out her hand towards Aron, who had just caught up to her to tell him not to worry. "It is fine, good sir... I myself was clumsy and ran off without looking." Getting to her feet once again, Alexis quickly began to brush off the dirt from her clothing, mostly from her scarf which was very prone to collecting dirt and dust.
Aron grumbled as he finally made it to Alexis only to have her get knocked over by some stupid kid. He would have drawn his sword however they were inside of a city, plus Alexis seemed to not wish for him to do anything. Slowly removing his hand from his blades hilt he crossed his arms and stood in place, looking around.
"This is my bodyguard Sir Aron Don, and I am Alexis Ornen, if you could please, kind sir, be able to direct me to a place to rest?" Alexis although still shaken, was acting very calm and collective, least she was trying too. Taking a step she winced and fell forward into the young man and grabbed onto him so she would not fall again. Quickly she was grabbed by Aron who helped her back up and Alexis quickly turned away. "I am sorry for that... It appears I did something to my ankle... I injured it quite badly when I was younger..." Alexis was clearly in pain, wincing as she held onto Aron for support. "It is easy for me to injure it again... do not fret, it should not take long for it to get better... however as I asked before... a place to rest would be most appreciated."
Aron was already in a bad mood, he hated being in Cheries, after all it was full of not only non-humans, but humans who liked non-humans, it was rather off putting for him. As he helped Alexis by keeping her from falling, he took notice of almost every non-human walking by. Most had some kind of animal accessory, the most common being ears on top of their head, and no human ears on the sides of the head. "Alexis, it is not always wise to go telling everyone your name, some people can use that to their advantage... specially all these freaks..." Aron mumbled the last part to himself, if anyone heard, the freaks mostly, they'd understand. Although he was a mercenary, Aron was still adorn with the Burren Empire Crest, that of a Fist with a pair of crossed swords, which were placed not only on his cape, but his armored vest. He also wore a small red sash around his right arm near his shoulder, the sign of a mercenary or sellsword.
((this part is what happened during the night of my opening post, it's backstory with Renee, read and enjoy, but please ignore post wise))
Although Mathiew Horton was quite happy in his tiny estate, he was far from lax when it came to protection. As he approached his bath house, dressed in a dark black robe with a Herban Empire Crest of a white shield and a gray castle tower in the center, he was escourted by two knights, while wearing rather light armored vests, still had helmets, as well as swords at their hips, both ready to draw in an instant. It was amazing how someone who feared for his life constantly, would allow men who could easily betray him to wield swords so close. "Now I will be expecting... that very fine lady to be showing up, please let her pass, after all.... I do enjoy her company... oh yes... I might be longer then I expected..." Mathiew snorted with laughter, a pig of a man, as any as he sported a rather sadistic and perverted smile.
Both soldiers nodded and as they reached the bathhouse, both turned to face the path and Mathiew walked inside. One yawned a little and leaned against the bathhouse wall while the other stood upright, waiting for this guest of their master to arrive. "Damned pig... keeping most of his stuff for himself... what you suppose he does with all his money? Sure as hell don't give us any of it..."
The soldier leaning against the wall shrugged. "A job is a job, least we ain't fighting any of those bloody beasts, they scare me they do... I heard some of them can eat a man alive, a grown man! Kill em in one quick move!" The soldier acted like his hand was some kind of claw and went across his neck. "They are violent, and should be locked up... and killed, much rather see them dead then alive..."
Both nodded at the statement, and began chatting about various things, as they always did, tonight was going to be another boring night, why waste it just standing around doing nothing.

"I think we were both being careless, I'm glad that you're alright though. That was quite the collision." Jade smiled a bit knowing that he was probably to blame but, she took part of the blame which was really nice in his opinion. He looked up to look at Aron as she told him who it was. "Wow, your very own bodyguard, that must mean you travel alot. Well, Miss Ornen I'd love to help you out with finding a place to rest, but I was also looking for a resting place. I really wouldn't mind helping you find someplace to rest though."
Jade looked down toward her ankle as she seemed to be in pain because of it. "I still feel responsible for you reinjuring yourself, I'd like to make it up to you, I could probably heal that up for you, not completely if it's been injured for that long but, I can take the pain away. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm being kind of rude, let me introduce myself. My name is Jade Myt'tar and I'm a traveller, I know some magic and I can sorta fight, my parents taught me everything I know. I grew up in Albero and haven't really been outside of Cheries." Jade always felt that where people grew up was important to know, it could tell a person quite a bit about someone.

Renee finally moved, she silently jumped down from the tree, she landed on her bare feet. She couldn't stand her feet being strapped into something tight, she always liked the feel of the land under her toes.
If she was going to kill Mr. Horton she needed her weapons, she looked down at her body. Her job required little clothing, she wrinkled her nose and smirked, there was no place to hide her daggers, she'd have to be clever.
As she approached the tent in small shuffled steps. Renee glanced at both guards at the tent, she'll have to take care of them after she took care of Mr. Horton. "I am here for Mr. Horton's..." she paused for a moment, "Entertainment." she flashed the guards a smile.
One of them convinced the other to check for any weapons, their hands touching more than necessary, they checked her entire body except between her thighs. She smirked to herself. The guards snickered to each other and swapped places, again the other guard made she she didn't have any 'weapons' on her person. 'Oh how wrong they were.' she thought to herself. "Maybe if you're good boys I may have a little bit of extra energy to entertain you both." she purred as she slid past them. They both agreed, 'Dead men...' she thought as she walked through the door.
Mr. Horton was already on the table with his face down towards the floor, "Mr. Horton." she said to him in greeting.
"Good you're here." he called to her, "I was beginning to worry." he didn't look up at her, "I was going to call my men out and hunt you down." she knew what he meant, he would have sent his men out to kill her. You never kept Mr. Horton waiting. Though all of that was about to change.
"I'm sorry." she said with a smirk, "I didn't mean to worry you." she purred as she walked up to the massage table and placed a hand on his back. "I'm here to make your world and the whole world a better place."
"How are you going to do that sweetheart, how are you going to change the world for the better, you're just a half human whore."
She soundlessly jumped up on the table and pulled her daggers just as silent out from her thighs, after she straddled him, he was still on his stomach on the table. Renee pressed her stomach and bosom against his back. She moved her forearms up along his back, her curved daggers in each hand, "It's simple really." she purred. Silently she moved the daggers under Mr. Horton's chin. Whispering softly in his ear, "The only thing I have to do is to end your life..." before he could flinch or call for his guards, his life blood was spilling out onto the floor below, only a gurgling sound came from the man. With her daggers she sliced his head completely off, she needed to take it to Dea as proof of Mr. Horton's death.
Renee wiped the blood from her face, she slid off the table and found a bag and placed his head into it. Licking her lips she made her way to the doors, "Oh boys... Mr. Horton has left and I'm feeling..." she paused for a moment, "I'm feeling a bit frisky." She was ready for them when they came in, first they saw the blood, and before they had time to react they were dead.
It didn't take long for her to free everyone in the camp and destroy the entire place, burnt it all to the ground. She watched from a hill as the fire blazed bright, an evil tarnished and destroyed. Holding the bloody bag in her hand was the only reminder of what had been. She started her journey to Dea.
(OMG this is long... I'm sorry. sweatdrop )

((Long is good in my books surprised It doesn't take much to turn 1 sentence into a paragraph, just takes a little effort 3nodding although Kuala, think you could use a little smaller size text? Most often people use size 10, it's because the larger text can be a little hard on the eyes sweatdrop , I keep my OOC normal, but in large rp posts, staring at all the large text can be rather strainful sweatdrop ))
Aron cringed a little, the last name was clearly something not everyone had. He gave a rather cold gaze at Jade, but with Alexis injured, he'd have to push that anger and hate away for the moment. "Interesting name... you some kind of non-human...?" Aron easily lifted Alexis up off the ground and held her in his arms so that he could carry her.
Alexis sighed a little, Jade was being so sweet, but yet his offer would not help. Wincing as Aron picked her up she smiled a little. "I thank you for your kindly offer Sir Myt'tar... but I have rather, unique needs... most healing does not work on my body... it never has since I was young. All I require is some rest and I will be fine..." Alexis paused for a moment, as if something caught her thoughts. "You are a traveler? Perhaps you can help me in other ways, I dislike talking in open places such as this, but if you could use your prior knowledge of Cheries, and possibly Dea and lead us to an Inn, I would be willing to talk to you their."

Renee was swift on her feet as she traveled through the mountains on the Herban Empire side, though she knew she'd be safer if she traveled on the Cheries side. With the only thing slowing her down was the bag with the head in it she made excellent time through the woods.
She would try to stay out of sight, only because it would rise suspicion if she went out in public carrying a bloodied bag. Renee smirked at the thought and took a deep long breath as she went.
Just on the other side of the mountains she found a traveler who sold her clean clothes and gave her an empty bag. The clothes she had been wearing carried remnants of the bloodied battle she was in at the camp, none of the blood was hers and she didn't need anyone asking questions about it either. Changing into the new clothes and tossing the whole bag, head and all, into the new one she was on her way once again.
