On a particularly pleasant day, a very energetic female chipmunk roamed about the area in search of something. A determined look was set upon her whiskered features as she dug around at the base of several trees, only to pause and scratch her head when she couldn’t seem to locate what she was looking for. Unfortunately, she had no clue where she'd had it last. That was the problem! With a tiny sigh, the silver-colored ‘munk gave up for the time being and sat herself beside a thick bush, pouting. This would have been a lot easier if she had someone to help her look, she thought with a sigh.

Now was the time. There was no avoiding it. Meep silently prepared herself. Saying a quick word of praise to herself she crouched down. She slowed her breath as much as she could. All the muscles in her pretty brown body tensed as she coiled, ready to spring. When she could crouch no lower she let loose. Her strong back legs rocketed her into the sky. Her front paws were outstretched as far as she could get them. She giggled as she soared. Just as she was about to hit the ground, the object of her hunt evaded her yet again. The small brown leaf soared effortlessly into the air and out of her reach. With a sigh Meep plopped down to think of something new to do since it seemed the leaf was done playing with her. Just then she saw a silvery 'munk diggin about at the base of a tree near her. Meep couldn't resist a new playmate! She quickly dodged behind a bush, silently willing the other 'munk to come closer to her. She saw her chance when the silvery one seemingly gave up on something and sat down right next to where Meep was hidden. Without wasting any time Meep sprang gently onto the silver, attempting to knock her over.

Rounded, sensitive ears perked upon hearing a small rustling nearby, though even with her superb hearing, Mitzy found herself captured in an entanglement of furry limbs as both her and the mysterious figure rolled in the grass and stopped at the base of a tree. Slowly, she picked up her head, only to realize that a fluffy striped tail was now obscuring her vision. What in the world was going on?! Small legs and arms managed to free her of the imprisonment beneath whatever had decided to tackle her as she sat up on her hind legs and looked down at the chocolate and peanut butter colored ‘munk. Instantly, her tail began to wag.
“Oh, hi there!” she giggled, sniffing at the other. “Heehee, I wasn’t expecting to be tackled. You really got me!”

It figures I would end up moving way more then I wanted to. Meep thought to herself. She was the most clumsy 'munk she'd ever met. Not that she'd met many 'munks in her life. As they rolled to a stop and untangled Meep shook helself off. Even though she loved to play and was extremely clumsy, she hated being dirty. She spotted a burr in her tail and attacked it with reckless abandon. Just as she did she head the other 'munk, whom she'd forgotten all about, say something to her. She quickly looked up from her tail and tilted her head to one side. "Oh... hello! I'm Meep. I'm sorry I made you roll and get dirty. I only meant to surprise you. What's your name?" She giggled and twitched an ear.

The giggly other shook her head and twitched her whiskers some. “Don’t worry about it! I get dirty a lot, heehee,” she reassured before perking up even more when a name caught her attention. “Hiya, Meep! I’m Mitzy, and it’s super cool to meet you. I didn’t think I’d meet anyone around here.” She paused and gave the area a quick look around. “Seems kinda empty near this part of the forest, but that doesn’t matter, ‘cause you’re here now!” The hoary critter clapped her paws together and then straightened, looking as if she’d just been struck with a rock. “Goodness gracious! That’s right!” She neared Meep and pushed aside personal space before coming face-to-face with her recently made acquaintance. “Have you seen an acorn around here? But not just aaaaany acorn. This acorn is pink!”

The small creature shook her head at the thought of getting dirty. She hated it with every fiber of her being. She giggled as she watched Mitzy talk. She was an odd one for sure, but Meep liked her. Just as she thought this she found herself face to face with Mizy. "Meep!" She squeaked and backed up a bit. She tilted her head. "A pink acorn? You sure it isn't poison? The only acorn I've ever seen besides a brown one is... well, it's hard to describe. Want me to show you? I remember where I hid it." She stood up and turned toward the direction she had come, looking back at Mitzy to see if she'd follow.

“Oh, I’m really sure!” she assured. “It’s not poison at all! I’ve had it ever since I could remember, and I really, REALLY love that acorn, so I just HAVE to find it!” She didn’t know what she’d do if she failed to locate her precious pink acorn. After hearing the second part of her friend’s statement, the orchid-eyed ‘munk gaped and nodded vigorously before she scurried after Meep, going as fast as her tiny paws could carry her. “Let’s go, let’s go, let’s goooooo!” she squeaked, giggling as she tore across the grass like a miniature rocket.

Meep couldn't contain herself. She stretched out her legs and ran as fast as she could. She loved running, it was more of an escape then anything else for her. She giggled as she ran, tiny claws kicking up dirt behind her. Soon she neared the spot she had burried her acorn. She huffed a sigh and slowed her run to a trot. Finally reaching the tree with the odd hole in it she smiled and looked behind her, hoping to see Mitzy in tow. "I found it!" She yelled.
