There was a chill in the air as night descended upon the tree tops. darkness slowly crept closer, and the animals of the day were heading home as the night animals began to emerge. Stertian sat at the entrance of his cave. he had spent the last month cleaning it out of all dirt and covering the floors with ice. now that he had his home settled and frozen, it was time for his to expand. his goal was to one day freeze the forest and everything in it, for everything deserved to either die in ice, or serve him and be his slaves.
he laughed as a mouse ran into the cave and started to slide across the ice. grabbing it's tail with his paw he watched it squirm until it gave up and died. he froze it with his icy breath and swallowed it whole. "there is no better way to end the day than with the loss of a life."

 Anbu walked through the forest with his head held high. He sniffed at the old smells of the dragonfly's that had passed by earlier in the day. He paused and shook out his fur as he looked around. It was rather cold this night but Anbu didn't care. You cant learn with out a little suffering. He lifted his head and sniffed the air for any fresh smells, hoping to find something good to eat soon. He walked down a hill and thought that the ground felt like it was getting colder as he went. He looked around trying to see why it was so cold here.

Stertian got up and looked around. everything seemed calm except, what was that on the hill? he took a closer look and could bearly make out the form of an elder. male maybe? he quickly slid back into his cave, no elder was going to sneek up on him. he watched as the elder got closer, and he could now tell that this elder was bigger than him. not by much, but he did not want to take the chance of loosing a fight. he dicided to wait and see if the elder kept coming his way. "the best way to avoid bad company is to not invite it in." He cursed himself as the sound of his voice ecoed slightly off the frozen walls.

Anbu froze and looked around as he heard someone talking. He turned his head and saw a cave that was iced over further down the hill. He stood there, his feet lighting up a little with flames reading himself for a fight if need be. The smells in the area were cold, cause of the weather, but it smelled like a male. He was assuming an elder cause it was iced over in the middle of the woods. He snarled and walked a little closer. He lowered his head as he stood there checking over the situation to see how much of this was in his advantage if a fight broke out.

Stertian cursed himself again when he saw the elder stop and look in his direction. this is not what he wanted. he did not want anyone to know he was here. maybe this was one of the discraseful elders who tried to keep things peacful. how he hated those types. then he saw the elders feet set fire. great...was this a challenge? or was the elder simply protecting itsself? Stertian still did not want to fight, so he decided to try and go talk to the elder. he put on a fake, worried expression and ran out of the cave towards the opposing elder. "hey, hey you up the please stop with all your firey flames, you are burning up all of my fine grass!"

Anbu lowered himself and growled as the elder came out of his cave at him. His Flames spread up his legs and stomach, burning the grass. "Why? your the one who suprised me." he said with a snarl. He didn't know what this elders problem was but Anbu had nothing wrong with him. He looked over elder as he lifted his head and turned it looking at him from one eye looking him over. "Why are you icing everything over and making it cold? Not everyone likes it cold." he said softly.

Stertian immediately disliked the elder, not only because it was slightly larger than him, but because of his attitude. Standing as tall as he could, stertian pushed the frill on his head up higher and spread his wings out a little to try and seem like more of a threat, than just another scrawny elder. "if you would take the time to notice, you would see that i have not iced everything over, mearly the inside of my cave. i realize that not everyone likes the cold, but i do, and that is why i have chosen this cave. it is remote so that i am not bothering others with my colder life style." lies, he thought to himself.

Anbu looked over the elder and watched his body language. "Really? You only want to have that cave? you don't want the rest of the forest?" he asked with a tilt of his head. "Isn't that what all elders want? Their own part of the woods?" he asked as he walked closer. He looked over the elder knowing that he was trying to look larger, he felt bad that he was smaller then him and felt he had to show off. "Do you really care if other people don't like the cold?" he asked.

Stertian growled deeply. this elder was really getting on his nerves, and was way to prying for his taste. he relaxed his position and pulled his wings in tight. "well what a silly thing to think. like you said elders like to have thier own land. i already have mine. the cave and the small area around it is all i want, and i am very happy with it." he smiled kindly at the elder trying to ease the mood "and why on earth would you think i would want to freeze the whole forest. if i did that then all the animals would die, what would we hunt for food then. if i froze the forest, i would die along with everything else." he walked up the hill as he talked, and then stopped to look back at the elder.
