Ilori was, for once, getting up early so that he could hunt... though to say that least, feeling himself ambling about looking for something to eat did feel a little bit... stupid. And also, he was resisting with every fiber of being the idea of actually doing work. But Sepoko and Makhi deserved a rest, and the fact that he didn't have to do it, and no one had asked, worked well enough for him. Even he needed something to do every now and then.
So, he hummed and ambled around, trying to decide if he could run with a limp... Sepoko had an old limp too, but his was older... Ilori's new injury was far from what he would consider 'healed'. But whatever! It was fun to go out and about! Especially when he could practically smell the desert. He missed it. And now it would be better than ever.
He was going to have a family, he was going to have Sepoko, he was going to see his mother, his father and his brothers again, and all his old friends. And he would even have Makhi, if she decided to hang around with them. How could things be better?

Ilori was indeed up earily, but still, as was her habit, Makhi was up even earlier, sitting in the warm sand to let her eyes explore the area. The closer they came to Ilori's old home, the less grass there was, less trees and vegetation. All of it was slowly being replaced by sand and stone, and she was finding herself enjoying it as she slowly adjusted.
Ears perked when she heard something large shuffling around, and she smiled as the male came into view. Head tilting, she called out to him softly. " Ilori... Good morning. Is Sepoko still asleep? "
The three made quite an interesting group as they traveled for their new home, getting along quite easily with their similar temperaments. She hadn't yet told the lion, who she was growing so fond of, that she had finally come to a decision. She would be staying in his pride, if they would have her. No more wandering, no more loneliness. She would much prefer to have a family, and a home.
Once she got the okay, she would surprise him with the news. No need to get his hopes up, if they, for some reason, would not take her.

Ilori smiled over at Makhi, a brilliant smile cracking over his face as always. He nodded to her, "Yeah, he's exhausted. It's getting hotter, he isn't used to it. But I can hardly wait to get back to the heat... I love the desert. Some good old fashioned dry air." He said, taking a deep breath of relief and letting it out. "I can hardly wait to go home! My mom will be so happy to see me again. And she'll probably love meeting you too." He laughed, seeming as brilliantly happy to be alive as always.
"How have you been sleeping?" He asked her, tilting his head as he watched her. He always liked to keep up with how the other two members of their little group. He had to admit, he couldn't think of a time he had ever been happier than he was now. Though he had always been pretty happy, actually, when it came down to it.
