Ardon, Ardor, ardor urinae, ardour, ARDS...Arduous.

Blinking her caramel eyes at the word, she tilted her head at it, thinking to herself. Carefully, she traced her finger over the bold word Arduous before tilting, not her head this time, but the book at a slight angle. Del had decided to take the time she had free and do something more productive. She had decided to learn more words of the English language. Del knew common words and phrases, but was still rusty at pronouncing. To her, practicing on larger words with much more syllables will help her with her with this problem. Thus, which lead to her taking a visit to the LOTUS Library.

After searching amongst books of titles too foreign to her, she finally settled upon choosing a dictionary. It was a posh looking dictionary, not looking too old nor new. It definitely held some age to it however, though Del could not guess how much. That is what led to her moment now, where she is reviewing over the first section of the dictionary. Of course, every common person knows the first letter of the alphabet is A. But Del wasn't that well educated, so this a new fact she learned about. Blinking at the word Arduous again, Del tried her best to sound it out. "Ar-do-os." spoke Del aloud as she swung her legs off the edge of the chair she had chose to sit upon.

Once again, Del blinked at the word before placing the dictionary upon her lap. "Ar-doo-us" Del pronounced. She was slightly off, but she was getting there. But she did know for sure, this was surely going to be an arduous lesson.

Mokoyis was thinking. She was also bored- which is what had led to the thinking in the first place. She had been laying on her bed, staring at the ceiling for the last twenty minutes pondering what exactly made the mountains so cold if they were closer to the sun than the warm valleys of the lowlands. It just didn't make any sense.

Which of course is what prompted her trip to the library. The Blackrobes back home had told her many times that the sum of human knowledge was contained in books- it was the only reason she had learned to read. Since arriving at LOTUS she had discovered that perhaps the silly holy men had been right about something, she supposed it must happen sometimes but was still suprised. Now whenever she was puzzled by a question that her ceiling couldn't answer she made a beeline for the books.

She even had a special chair. She clutched her book about mountains to her chest and poked her head around the corner. Some one was sitting in her chair! She frowned silently at the girl for a moment and then shrugged. New recruits were far more interesting than the workings of cold mountains anyways.

"Okki, I don't usually have company when I come to do research." She approached the girl with a slight smile on her lips.

Being startled from the voice, Del jumped out of the seat due to reflex. The dictionary she had upon her lap clattered to the floor, lightly bouncing up due to contact. A small smile cracked on Del's face as she bowed and rolled up her sleeves. "Nice meet you." Del said as she extended her arm. "Del, I-I Delgerdzaya. You?"

Del had been practicing the proper techniques to greet someone and she believed she had it down packed. She heard the female speak of research and this interested Del. Del had been revolving her all her lessons upon learning English. Maybe it would be much more interesting to learn something else for a change.

Del's mind jumped back to her as she noticed the dictionary upon the floor. Quickly, she retracted her hand to pick up the book before extending her opposite palm. A smile did not leave her face the entire time, she wanted to appear as friendly as possible.

Mokoyis inclined her head in response to the girls introduction. "I'm Mokoyis. It is good to meet you Del-ger-d-zah? That is a strang name." She looked at the girls outstretched hand and then down at the book in her arms. It was a heavy book- one that bordered on tombhood in fact- and she probably couldn't hold it with just the one arm.

She looked around and not seeing a table handy stooped to put the book on the floor, narrowly missing bumping her head on Del's as she straightened. She took the offered hand with a chuckle. "What are you reading?" She peered at the book in the girls hand.

Del chuckled lightly to herself as she replied, "Mokoyis strange name too." Tilting her head to the side to look upon the dictionary she had picked up, she offered it over to the other female. In truth, Del had no idea what kind of book it was. She just knew that it seemed to have much more words in it than the other books she had spied upon. "Book with lots of words." Del said. Than again, all the books she picked at had a lots of words, as they were all thickly paged. She corrected herself as she said, "Lots of learnful words."

Del's English was once again still rusty, which made her sound younger than what she actually was. But she hoped that Mokoyis did have an understanding of what she said.
