Galleai did not know city streets well, but she'd taken to wandering them nevertheless. She was determined that, one of these days, she'd stay up and watch the sunrise. But being on the coven's schedule meant that daylight was taboo. And so this particularly starry night found her at the edges of a brightly lit pier. There were games and rides set up, a ferris wheel dwarfing them all.
Galleai had never seen anything quite like it before. Everyone was bundled up in their winter clothing and one would think that such a carnival would be closed in this weather. But it was busy and cheerful, the smell of cocoa and pretzels lingering on the breeze. She'd been smarter this time, borrowing a cloak and a pair of much-too-big shoes from the house, so at least she was warm. Staying near the edges, she wound her way curiously through the crowd.

" Meet me back here in an hour and half" Rook's mother said firmly giving him a serious look. " I'm trusting you to be responsible."
Rook nodded slowly " I will be , I promise"he said softly before separating from his family and heading off on his own. It wasn't that he didn't want to have fun with his family just that he and the girl's were now in different categories when it came to rides. They didn't fit the height requirements for the things he wanted to try and he thought the things they were big enough for didn't quite looking appealing to him or he was considered too big.
Once he was alone Rook wandered through the crowd searching for the best place to start so he could enjoy the carnival in a logical order. At the thought of searching at all his mind went fuzzy for a moment and he frowned wishing he knew why that kept happening.

She was staring longingly at the carousel when she felt a strange tingling on the edges of her consciousness. It almost... almost felt like being on the corners of someone's dream, but that didn't happen in the waking world. Galleai peered around the bustling crowd and spotted Rook. She recognized him from a dream and for once, the smile that crossed her face didn't seem awkward. He wouldn't know her, of course. She didn't look the same, she certainly wasn't a cat. Nevertheless, she sidled through the crowd until she came near him.
"Hello." The blue-haired girl said to the grey-skinned boy. Her voice was slightly hesitant but friendly enough. She wasn't used to introducing herself.

Rook blinked slowly in confusing for a moment, why was this girl talking to him? "Hello, can I help you?"He didn't know who the blue haired dark eyed girl was but she seemed safe enough to talk to and oddly familiar

Gal shook her head a little. "No, I don't need help." Although... "Actually," Galleai said, changing her mind. "Do you know what I should do if I want to ride on that?" She didn't know what the carousel was, only that she would very much like to sit on one of those brightly painted horses. She pointed at it, though, so he'd know what she was talking about.

Rook nodded and smiled " You need to go there first" he pointed to a little red and gold ticket booth " and buy tickets or a bracelet" he lifted a hand to show her his own neon green bracelet. " Each ride costs a certain amounts of tickets and when you run out you have to buy more. if you only wanna go on a few things you can buy a string of tickets but a lot of rides means you want to get a bracelet because it costs less." Rook had gathered this by listening to the people in line in front of his family before they bought bracelets.
" I can take you if you want, oh and my name is Rook." he introduced himself with another small smile.

"I'm Galleai." She smiled. "How do you buy tickets?" She didn't have any money. But there was a pretty pin that held her dress together. She pointed at it. "Do you think they would trade this for tickets?"

Rook froze at the girl's name missing her question entirely " Gallaei? Are you a cat sometimes?" Was it possible for this girl to be the cat from his dreams?

She smiled. "Yes, when I'm asleep." Tilting her head, she smiled a little more at Rook. "I remember you."

Unable to contain his pleasure at seeing his dream friend rooked reached out to hug the girl, forgetting breifly his own usual rule about invading personal space " I've missed you, I got a drum for Christmas and I wanted to play it for you. " The boy's tail swayed back in forth was he spoke excitedly " It's nice to see you not in a dream but you need to visit again soon it's been almost two weeks I think." The consistent company of the girl was one of Rook's favorite parts of going to sleep.

The smile that crossed Gal's face was probably the first really real smile that she'd managed, breaking across her face like the dawn. "I would like to hear you play the drums." She said, pleased that he was glad to see her in the waking world too. "And I will visit you again in your dreams, too."

Rook returned the smile as he released the girl, glad she was willing to visit his dreams again soon so that he could show her the drum. Maybe if she looked like this in the dream she could dance while he played, not that he minded her being a cat at all.
slowly he looked back towards the ticket booth " I'm not sure they take anything but money. I have a little" The amount he had to buy snacks if he got hungry would probably buy a small strip of tickets or two his friend could use. He rather be able to try the rides with her than have whatever cotton candy was. although he was saving his game money becuase he did want to try and win some prizes.

"Oh, thank you!" Galleai said. She had no real concept of money, except that she knew she didn't have any. She should ask the coven for some. And she did want to ride on the horses very much. "I'm glad you're here." She added.

" You're welcome and it's nice to see you here, my family is too small to ride the rides with me." Well they might have been able to ride the carousel but they'd been more interested in faster rides for children their size. Carefully he lead the girl through the crowed and to the line less ticket counter and handed over some money for a string of bright pink tickets. " You wanted to go on the carousel first?"

Galleai took the tickets and looked at them curiously. Little pieces of paper that had the power to let you ride or not. It seemed strange to her. Then again, she really did want to ride the carousel, so it didn't really matter how it hapened. "Yes, please." She said, slipping her hand into Rook's uninvited.
