Glancing up from her ledger, Irae'riina's crimson eyes settled on the obsidian clock that rested on the corner of her desk. The minutes had easily ticked away into an hour, an hour that had been spent planning for the expansion of her business ventures. Tapping the pen to her lip, she thought to herself. Eventually her siblings might turn on her; it ran in the blood, as it did for most of their race. Dipping the quill into the ink, her hand flourishing over the parchment as she wrote out a letter.

The fine angular face turned to the side as she gave a small flick of her wrist. Promptly an orb appeared showing the from entrance to her home. Several servants came too and fro, some leaving while most hurried about their assigned tasks. With a sigh, she pushed the line of sight further so that she breezed over the walkway and its trellis of bushy plants. Somewhere was her guest, but where? How long would she be kept waiting?

Dropping her hand, she let the orb fade into the nothingness that begot it. Once more she focused on the parchment and poured out a few additional lines. Giving her unmistakable signature, she put the letter into an envelop and sealed it with plain wax. Plain to the sight anyhow, there was a small enchantment added in that ensured others did not pry. One task down, she looked over the ledger again.

Divintra was nothing if not a over achiver at his job. He arrived early, he left quickly. He never asked questions beyond what pertained to his job. Nor did he speak to others about any jobs he had carried out in the past. He enjoyed a reliable reputation, something that he took more pride in then most things. Except for perhaps his scrying. Now that he was getting a better handle on it he had to say he was grateful for the gift. As unpleasent as it seemed to be at times.

Currently he was pacing an area he had been told he would meet someone for a pick up. Unfortunatly he had not been told much more then that...but he assumed his alabaster white skin would mark him easily enough for his potential customer to catch his attention.

Quickly she sat the ledger back into the hidden portion of her mahogany desk. Perhaps I should have went to the messenger myself. The thought was in vain. Of all things, Irae'riina knew that conducting private matters in the streets was by far the worst thing she could do. The tattoos that marked her body easily alerted those of her name and reputation. There was no place that she could turn that would render her unknown. A fleeting smile came to her lips. If only it would work...

A maid came forth to the curious Drow, her eyes darting about. Of all things, her life depended on how well secrecy was kept. "I shall escort you." The instructions she was given were rather detailed and she would be happy to have them done with.

Irae'riina had gone out of her way in the plotting of her venture. It had been most painstaking, but she hoped that the result would be worthwhile. Selecting a reliable messenger had been perhaps the hardest undertaking. There were a few key places that had been set up as transfer points, masking the arrival of her guest. And a similar area where he would be ferried into her grounds without the knowledge of others. Were there a keen mage, they would have to be keener still to divulge the usefulness of this particular happening.

Moving forward with her mistress' plan, the maid led him towards the first venue where she purchased a select variety of flowers. Next was a pastry shop and last a wine connoisseur. When they last stopped, she walked to a wall, gave it a push. Both suddenly found themselves within the halls of Manor Myzynge.

This whole niess had Divintra a little on edge. Something important must be needed delivered. It made him both wary and excited. If people this paranoid were taking notice of him it would soon be time to start looking more carefully at job offers. Sooner or later he could end up taking a job where the messenger would not be allowed to leave alive. Quite the sobering thought!

As Divintra followed the maid, he wondered at the selection of items. Was he meant to carry them? He hoped not! The items bought seemed like a ruse for a date! Divintra certainly didn't want anyone to get that idea when they saw him! He was sort of...unmistakable!

When they finally reached the manor...Divintra had to take a moment to appreciate his surroundings. "It...seems my potential customer has taken great measures to ensure I'm not followed or suspected of coming here..." He remarked to the maid in a half questioning tone.

The maid gave a simple bow to the messenger and wandered off with the procured goods. It was none of her business what her Matron demanded and it was meaningless to involve herself with the messenger and his comments. The items were not for a date, as it might have seemed, but for a dinner that was planned. The wine though was for the two.

The flood of magick was enough to rouse Irae'riina from her studies. Quickly shutting a book or two, she sauntered out of her office and down a side corridor to the main hallway. Immediately her eyes were drawn to the alabaster Drow. The corners of her lips pulled into a smile as her eyes gave a small appraisal over him. Gracefully, she walked towards the guest and held out a hand in greeting. The sleeves of her gown hung loosely from her elbows, swaying with her motions. "Come with me please."

Turning on her heel, Irae'riina made her way to towards a formal sitting room. Once inside, she beckoned the doors shut and the servants to leave. Giving a precursory scan of the room, she noted that everything was in place and no lurking surprises awaited her. With a small wave of her hand, she indicated a glass of wine. "For your troubles." Taking up one, she took a sip from it, swirling the liquid around her tongue before swallowing it. "I am sure you figured out for yourself that I am a highly watched person and thus well-guarded. "

Well...the silent treatment? Divintra watched the maid depart wordlessly. Well if that wasn't a sign for caution he didn't know a thing. He reached a hand into the messenger bag that he had taken to wearing, and slipped his fingers into a inside pocket where he carried his glass ball. It had become a comforting habit to merely stroke it's surface when he was starting to get a little nervouse. he was going to have to work out a way to feasibly use his spells before every encounter. Some, like this one, took too long to get him to his potential customer. By now his spells duration had run out and he needed to recast them to use them. Perhaps he should start practicing them non-verbally. If he could silently invoke his prayers that would be a excellent means of accessing them at will.

The approch of the female, and the greeting, snapped Divintra's mind back to where he was. he withdrew his hand from his bag and gently took the offered hand from the female. A small and gentle touch, he had learned, seemed to put his prospective employeers more at ease. For some reason, there were those that believed a courtier should have a light touch. Why? Was it image? Perhaps...he only recieved respect of this sort since he had managed to dress himself up and keep up the appearance.

"Greetings Lady." Divintra dutifully and respectuflly greeted her, then nodded his head at her direction. This was a great amount of caution for a delivery! Once they were wintin the room, Divintra was slightly surprised by the setting, though he tried to keep it from reflecting in his eyes. "I had begun to think that Lady." He agreed with her at first, then he glanced down at the glass of wine.

For a moment he merely glanced at it, then he lifted his eyes to look at the female."I mean no disrespect Lady. I thank you for your generousity. But it is a priciple of mine not to partake of anything alcoholic while working."

Irae'riina's lips curled upwards at the soft touch of the rather unique looking Drow. She wondered if perhaps he were suitable after all; his coloring was few and far between, anyone could know of him. Indicating a chair, she offered for him to sit, even though she chose to remain standing. There were only so many opportunities to get out without being hounded by the masses that she chose to remain inside, mysterious and aloof.

Nodding her head as he declined her offer, strands of white hair cascaded about her face. Walking around her desk, unhurried in her motions, she pulled out a glass jug of water. "Yours if you prefer this instead." Settling the jug on the desk, droplets of condensation ran down its sides only to be funneled back into the cooling enchantment of the glass.

Lightly, she leaned back against the sturdy desk. All about them were books on a variety of titles...some that she had for special interest, others for looks. There were those tomes from the Overworld that were kept to show of power and influence. Truly, she thought, anyone worth a grain should be able to smuggle goods from the Overworld races. Although those sorts tended to be outcasts or the banished.

Withdrawing a letter from a hidden pocket of her gown, she held it out for him to inspect before setting it on the desk beside her. For now he could sit, soon enough he would be on his feet again. There were some small mercies to be afforded. "A simple letter. Should it fall into the wrong hands, or should you be discovered as linked to me...your job is over. Whether or not you currently know of my reputation, you will learn of it should you fail." It was a warning, mayhap a threat, but Irae'riina was not playing in this pivotal matter. "It is of importance, as you have just agreed to have noticed. And I do not lightly take risks." The glass lifted to her lips and she took a sip of the wine, mulling over her thoughts. How much to divulge and how much to simply leave to him.

Divintra let his attention be directed to the jug of water, and he formed a poliet smile for the female. Bowing his head gently in her direction he replied. "I would be grateful. Thank you." Refusing the first drink was safe enough. But if he refused a second drink, and one that he really could not come up with a reason for. As it was just simple water, Divintra knew he risked offending the female. So he would accept the drink and wait to see if a new glass would be provided for him to pour for himself or not.

He tried not to let himself become distracted by the collection of books. He'd not seen many books in others homes before. Normally he was met in more public areas of the house. He couldn't really think of a time yet when he'd been snuck in. It was a curiousity that made him want to fidget nervousely.

When the letter was presented, Divintra stepped forwards to look it over. He had to keep himself from appearing too eager to snatch it up. Since he was trying to create a more distinguished reputation he couldn't keep acting like a uneducated gutter boy. The following threat was one that Divintra had become accustomed to. In fact, he was starting to wonder if there was some sort of universal agreeance that when hiring a coutier one must threaten them. The level of hostility often pertained to how important the delivery was to either be made or not discovered. It was hard for Divintra not to smile after being warned. "Of course Lady." Was his cannon answer. his head bowing again. A simple verbal statement that said he understood her wishes and the threat that came with it. It usually satisfied the potential customer enough if he appeared to be usded to such situations.

"Simply instruct me where you would like the letter to arrive and I will see to it that it does so. I ask for nothing more then that and expect nothing more."
