Somehow or other Mosi had managed to evade her father, mother, and brother's watchful eyes. The small female was determined to find herself something to do, with or without her friends.
Ezeoha had mentioned termite mounds at some point a few days ago, that was where Mosi was headed.
"Whoah..."
The area was an orange shade where sickly clouds blocked out most of the sun. Huge, towering mounds of dirt, most hollow, leading to a vast underground cavern visible through holes in the ground.
Her own personal playground.
She laughed, setting out to explore for a while.

Mbali had gone wandering, he hadn't really gone that far before and he longed to get away from his family's eyes as they always seemed to know where he was. Right now he needed to find somewhere to escape them, somewhere that he could just relax and forget about his mother and father and all those annoying siblings.
He found the strange area after a quick run, it seemed hotter here though maybe that was just him. His blue eyes scanned the area untill they landed on a black form. He sat down on one of the mounds, his tail curled around him he just watched her.

Mosi was having herself a GRAND old time. She could just imagine! The holes in the ground were actually filled with quicksand, the termite mounds were trecherous cliffs, and Mosi was the brave adventure-seeking heroine!
She leapt deftly from patch to patch, avoiding all of the "trecherous traps" (Imaginary snakes, spiders, scorpions, etc.) laid out on the ground between quicksand pits.
"Ha ha ha! Quicksand doesn't scare ME!" She proclaimed in a loud, "strong" voice. She was completely oblivious to anyone elses' presence.

Mbali was quite amused by the female, she was quite the character. He didn't understand what she was pouncing but he guessed quicj enough that she was just playing.
He was happily watching her, it was nice to just see someone playing and enjoying themselves, somthing he rarely saw. It was while thoughts of that nature were going through his head that his backside started itching. He scratched a little and then a little more till he felt small teeth bite him. It was then he jumped up howling scratching at his body as if he was covered in this horrible itchy stuff. Amusingly he was, they were called termites!

She was just about to deliver the finishing blow to the rattle-tail snake she'd been "fighting" when the howl broke the air and made the dark female jump damn near out of her fur.
Mosi's eyes were wide with surprise, fur standing on end and claws unsheathed in alarm. Whipping her head to look backwards, she stared a moment at Mbali.
"W-where'd you come from?? How long were you there? And.... w.... hat are you doing??"
Her white toes lead the way as she padded closer, finally spotting the termites climbing on Mbali. Her face turned up in disgust. GROSS! After that she wasted no time in going to help the other, swatting at the insects to try clearing them away.
"Augh! Those things are disgusting! How'd you get them all over you??"

Mbali was ever so grateful for the help and once he was sure all the yucky bugs were off him he stood snarling at the hill he had been sitting on. "You come and get me, I will kill all you little things..." He then straightened up and turned to look at her.
He bowed his head to her and straightened up, "I haven't been here for too long, I was watching you for a while, you are quite the pouncer!" He smiled and licked at his paw. "I am not sure how they got all over me, they came out that hole thing, right there!" He moved his paw to show her and snarled again a little. mean bugs!

Well, Mosi couldn't help it, she had to laugh a little at that. As the sound faded a grin remained. She shook her head in amusement.
"That must be why the adults don't want us to come here. Do you live in the Pridelands too? What's your name?"

He grinned at her laugh, not quite sure what to make of it. "Yeah my mother came here when she was an adolescent or something and has lived here ever since. I am one of her second litter!" He smiled and shook his head, proud of his parents. "I am Mbali! What is your name?" He tilted his head curiously.

Mosi beamed excitedly and bounced a pace or two on her front paws, tail lashing about behind her happily. "So did my parents! Me and my brother are the only ones though. My name's Mosi."

Mbali smiled, it was nice to meet a civilased cub. "Does your brother look like you? I seem to be the oddball in my litter, I share the brown and tan but none of them are white!" He smiled and scratched a little, if those termites were coming back he would show them who was boss!

"Not really," She grinned, thinking about Jini. His markings were just as bold-- bolder than even --as hers, but his personality was the stark opposite. "he looks more like mama. His fur is orange, kinda like yours, and one of his eyes is black like dad's, and the other one is white like mine. He's not much like me either... always worrying about this, that, and the other."
Mosi stretched forward, grinning.
"You want to play?"

He listened as she described him glad he was with her and not her brother. "Play?" he thought about it looking at the mounds, "sounds good to me unless those things try and kill me again!" He chuckled.

Mosi chuckled before giving rise to a light lope in the direction of a dark opening at the other end of the area. It looked to be an entrance of sorts, no doubt it led down into the undground half of the mounds.
"I don't think bugs eat lions,"
Mosi was already peering into the dark as she called back to Mbali.
"Come on! Let's go check it out!"

Mbali tilted his head and trotted after her. His blue eyes watching her dark form. He wasn't exactly happy around here with all those horrible bugs around.
"I hope you are right... darn things."
He followed her even though he was slightly worried they would walk into a insect beast!
