Snow crunched between ebony paws, contrasting brilliantly as it was pushed aside. An equally dark nose nuzzled through the powder, digging lightly as it shoveled away, searching for a particular scent. The scent was not found. Pulling away, the black muzzle was spotted with little flecks of frost and lifted into the cool air of the chilly evening. The darkness of the woods was pleasant (for her eyes at least), but the temperature was dropping steadily, despite the sun still hanging nicely in the sky. Moving away from the fruitless spot, the hungry female padded onward.

Hunting was a thrill seldom sought by the loner who preferred finding smaller prey than the tasty larger meals she wished she was capable of taking down on her own. Her meek body was adequate for hunting, and it was rare for her to fail in a hunt, however, the danger level in hunting larger pray was considerably stronger, and thinking wisely about how she approached such things, she decided not to take a chance with deer or other such animals. Her tongue moistened with the thought of venison. Whining out in the snow, the female shook herself, pulling the thought from her head. As long as she was alone, she would enjoy no such pleasures.

But why was she alone? Ever since adulthood breached her, the female darted out into the wilderness, alone…not wanting of company. In fact, being around other wolves grew an unruly anxiety in her gut. They were all there to get her. Every one of them…their eyes constantly on her and no matter how far she could run, or how much she fought, they would always get to her. She drove away into solitude, not wishing for her paranoia to rule every aspect of her life. At least she could manage on her own. She believed, anyway.

The male had been keeping to himself. He had not really enjoyed the thought that Estelle had dissappeared from the area. He had felt a connection..he felt like he could be himself with her. But the very time he had begun to feel safe around her, she had dissappeared, leaving him alone in the harsh cold once more.

It really wasnt..harsh.. But he thought it was more harsh than if he had someone there beside him to keep him warm with conversation and fur.

The sky blue eyes gleamed with a bit of anxiety. He had no idea where to go from here, and this land was still so new to him. He had been forced to leave the den he had made, as it no longer felt like home without Estelle.. Though he knew he had grown much too attached way too quickly. He cursed himself silently, thinking that he had moved too quickly after teh death of his mate which had sparked the whole move here anyway..

He growled a bit, hearing something that made his ears perk.
"Who goes there?"

The voice seemed to have come from nowhere, manifesting in thin air like the whisper of a specter. Had the female's senses dulled so much, or was this stranger just that good disguising himself? Immediately, the dark female lowered to the ground. With ears flat against her head, she crept forward, her heart pounding so heavily, it nearly occupied all of her hearing and thumped harsh between her chest and the ground. The voice sounded gruff, male, but not harsh. No, it wasn't so blunt, not like what she expected from a male. All the same, Asiavik kept her wits about her.

"Erm...I...umm..." she fell silent, unable to form the words. She had been mistaking before for being mute, her inarticulate nature was something that often plagued her. But first she wanted to see this stranger. Sliding on her belly through the chilly snow, the female crept slowly forward, heading toward the sound with her tail tucked nearly between her legs, the snow prevent it from going completely under. Why was she doing this? The female pondered her sudden movement toward the voice. This was suicidal! This male would be like the rest, he would be like the visions within her head and wouldn't dare shed an ounce of mercy onto her.

Whimpering, she paused.

Heaven had been named for being the 'Heavenly' creature born of his mother. His voice was never harsh, but that of a strong song. He was brave, always willing to be the knight in shining armor.. And he could be caught gazing at the sky for hours asa pup.

His name had fit him well, hiding the pain that he had felt years before as a teenager. His mate, the female that had grown with him, had been killed by the humans. It had sparked a fear in the male about the two leggers, and he would never be the same.

But his sky blue eyes glistened, hiding their truth as his eyes showed only innocence and purity. He refused to show his true side, not yet..Not so soon. That mistake had been made before.

He watched the female slide on her belly, and he perked his ears, backing up slightly. He was ultimately confused. He had heard that the wolves around here were fiercely defensive, and that he should watch himself.. But the two females he had met so far had met him from their bellies..

"You can stand, I have no power of you."
He said, voice soft, though it didnt waver.

As her teal eyes swiveled up to peer at the male, she was reminded of the stories her aunt would tell her as a pup, spinning tales of brave wolves, and those sent from above as guardians to serve the wolves of this world. These angels were magnificent, and one of their leaders, Michael, was the perfect example of gentle masculinity. This wolf before her encompassed this ideal. As he addressed her, the female felt her ears pin against her head. What drove her to do so? While the male was great in her eyes, she did not lower herself to the ground in order to provide him with flattery. This was her reaction to any new wolf. The exact reason as to why she behaved in such a manor was still a mystery to her, but her truthful paranoia was far from hidden from her awareness. She didn't believe this seraphic male would harm her, but her body hardly listened to her mind.

"I-I understand," she finally answered, the words little more than a whisper. It was easy to mistake her for a mute at most times, words never seemed simple for her, but when she did allow them to flow freely from her maw it was only around those she was most comfortable with. These individuals were few in number indeed. Heeding his words, Asiavik crawled onto her paws but didn't relax enough to appear comfortable. "What brings you here?" The question was simple -not a hint of malice spoke from it.

She had a gentle voice. A voice much like hers, but this female was more innocent.. He didnt know how he knew that she was a good soul, but he did. And instantly his muscles lost some of their tension, and he allowed his head to drop, only slightly.

"Im just a wanderer. What brings me here, is the same thing that will take me somewhere else in the future."
He said with a little grin, though it was a grin filled with sadness, more than a happy smile.

"My name is Heaven, what do they call you?"
A name was worth a thousand words. If her name had been something that had put a bad thought in the males head, he would have run straight off.
He had his own paranoia. Fearing being lead to hell, where his oldpack had seemingly gone.

But his voice was still strong, yet soft, almost like trying to match hers in tone as to not frighten her.

There was something about the deep tone of the male that soothed the anxiety of the female to an extent she felt far more comfortable to pull from her usual stance into something a little less strained. Usually she would have still been clinging to the ground right now, but this male didn't seem to have any impure intentions, otherwise, she was sure something would have already happened.

"A wanderer," she commented, hearing this. What was it like to travel, to not anchor yourself anywhere for very long? It had been some time since she lived in a pack setting herself, but she had settled down in this little area long before and only traveled outside to hunt.

Heaven. It seems so appropriate.

Still her weary eyes followed his every movement, how few the were, and made note of even the smallest of things, like the motion of his maw to form words, or the flick of his ears, the wisp of fur as a small breeze fluttered by. All of it seemed like meaningless detail the female noted it nonetheless. And now how to answer him. Would giving her name flat out be appropriate? Surely it wouldn't cause her any damage by revealing that bit of information, would it? "Asiavik," she answered him softly, "but you may refer to me as Vik if you would like." Her voice fluctuated between solid and quiet and simple, almost as though she didn't have control over the volume. This was no doubt a product of her limpidness.

"You have a wonderful name."

He smiled gently, looking to the ground, then back into the eyes that were looking at him so curiously.

"Asiavik.. Thats a lovely name."
He said, repeating it once more, and then smiling.

He sat, his tail curling around his body and his paws looking more large than normal. He was a bigger wolf, but he was agile, and stealthy. He was incredibly sly.
But he hardly used any of those talents, other than hunting.. He had no reason to be sly unless he was trying to catch his meal.

So the male just chuckled a bit.
"You like my name?"
He nodded slightly.

"Ive been told I have a relaxing name.. Though, I never understood it."
True, he loved his name.. But it had been such a burden to him lately.
For someone with such a divine name, he was used to having so much hell..

The female tried to make herself comfortable, but found it a difficult process for the paranoid creature. Her tail was positioned more around her body than under, but it was hard to tell, and her head was hanging out instead of up and proud. This didn't bother her any, after all, Asiavik hardly realized she was even in this sort of stance, but it was probably a rather timid look for the stranger. She watched him as well, how he was sitting comfortably having a normal conversation, and how he looked so much larger than her when in reality he wasn't too much bigger. She had nothing to worry about.

She gave a nod. Vik did indeed like his name, and she had no problem admitting that. "I don't think you have to understand it," she murmured, "it just does that. I think your parents made a good decision when they were naming you." Her voice was light and simple, and her expression matched perfectly.

He liked her voice. It was soft and quite.. elegant. It made him want him to keep conversing with her, if only to hear her voice. He smiled, his pink nose, sniffing slightly to get her scent.

She smelled of pines..Like pine trees. He wasnt sure if that meant she lived around the trees, or if it was her natural scent. Whatever it was, it lured him closer, and he moved a little closer, careful not to overstep his boundaries.

"Thats very kind of you to say."
He said, tail wagging slightly.
His gorgeous blue eyes gleamed with the thought of having made a friend. He had been a closed off wolf. Keeping himself away from the world as he had not wanted to find companionship.. He had not wanted friends.

And now, he was rethinking that.

"So Asia..Im rather new..What do you do around here?"

She took notice of his movement and despite the opposition to her body to cower and flee, she noted how he paused just far enough away, considerate and polite of the strange male. Her teal eyes shifted as he did, but calmed as he calmed. And the addition of his wagging tail and bright voice only improved her vibrant joy. The contrast of the male between previous encounters was something she craved indeed, and the thought that he could become more than just an acquaintance, a friend perhaps, was something she though highly of. Though she wouldn't presume so much just yet.

"What do I do?" she repeated, curious as to what brought on the question, besides the fact that it was a rather boring environment she lived in. Without a pack, interesting occurrences were seldom if not near extinct. But she did have passions that she practiced. "I hunt, when I can," she answered him brightly, not sure if he would find this at all interesting. "We could, ah, if you want, maybe go hunting together? It's easier with two wolves instead of just one."

He had been alone so long, he almost felt outcasted from Society, but this female, didnt seem to mind that he was a bit socially awkward.
He smiled a bit, and looked to the earth, before looking back into her gorgeous teal eyes.

His own sapphire eyes gleaming, he wagged his tail once more.
"Hunting, eh? I enjoy a good hunt."

She sure know how to get him where she wanted him.. He adored hunting, and he had never hunted with another before..This could be interesting.

"So long as you dont mind Im a bit awkwaerd in that department, then Id adore that."
He said, smiling a bit.
He never had friends, and the last female he had grown to love, had left him without word.
He didnt want to let his heart out again, but this female, he was sure could fit in with him..Or at least, he would find out.

How she was thankful for his agreement and the special interest he seemed to have taken to the idea. It had been so long since she shared a hunt she couldn't quite remember if she had ever hunted with a partner or if she had imagined something up some long ago time. Her tail wagged lightly as she stood fully erect, attentive. Her little neck of the woods was filled mostly with smaller game, but a few deer inhabited the outer rims. This sight of departure would be their target. And Asiavik would guide this new male there.

The dark female giggled lightly at the tawny male, grinning at this statement. "Oh I'm sure you're just as awkward as I am. No worries," the she-wolf replied, her voice slowly steadying compared to when they initially met. With most other males she would have still been on the ground, and if not, at least having never suggested a hunt with them. A hunt wasn't something necessarily intimate in any way, but it certainly required some amount of trust in the other partner to pull through with their part of the effort. She expected he'd be just fine. "There's not much large game here, but I can show you were we can find them."
