 Tendaji had come back to the den for a late afternoon nap after playing with his sisters. He had snuggled into the den and with his paw covering his muzzle he drifted to sleep.
He was dreaming about exploring the forest with his family but all of a sudden the forest became dark and his family diapered, dream Tendaji started to run and called out his family's names with all of his heart but no one answered. The trees seemed to reach down and claw him with there empty skeletal branches but still Ten ran looking for his missing brothers and sisters. Then all of a sudden The trees ended and he was in a dark and foreboding grassland. He turned around searching for the relative safety of the trees but they were no longer there. He started to run to where the trees should have been but the grasslands just kept going in all directions. He had to stop and catch his breath but when he stopped he could here the grass around him rustle with the passing of large beings. His fur stood on end as growls issued from the grass all around him, he let out a yelp of fear and pain when a shadowy form launched itself at him from the depths of the grass.
Tendaji woke suddenly, his heart was beating wildly and he had the uncontrollable urge to whimper though he did not know why. The den was still empty but for some reason that he couldn't understand he felt like someone was in the den with him. He scrambled to his paws and took off running out of the den, once in the sun light he slowed down but was still spooked and was constantly looking over his shoulders looking for anyone following him.

Siti had come into the den to check on her youngest son. He looked rather tuckered when he wandered off from his siblings earlier and back into the den. She wanted to wake sure he was alright so she headed back to the den herself, telling her little girls to mind thier brothers and not to go to far into the water.
The den wasnt far so Siti walked into the den to hear what sounded like her cub whimpering. It made her heart race and she immediately went over to check on her. She looked him over, but he seemed fine, but he still whimper and Siti figured it was a nightmare. Just as she was about to wake him her cub woke with a start and actually made her jump, before darting out of the den.
"Tenji," she called, "Are you okay?"
Siti made her way out into the sunlight, and sat at the entrance to the den, looking at him curiously.

Tendaji was just wandering around the den when he heard his mom call him and when on one of the frequent looks over his shoulder, he saw her he went running up to her. "Momma!" he cried as he stopped right in front of her, he sat there shivering even though he was not cold but soon with Siti so near him he started to relax and the shivering slowly went away.
Tendaji hung his head in embarrassment after a moment because now that he was out in the sun light whatever spooked him seemed more like a figment of his imagination, he didn't even remember what the dream was about only that it was scary and dark. Big boys don't get spooked from dreams nor do they come running to there 'mamma's' for protection! he mentally chided himself as he got up the courage to shrug off the dream.

Siti was a bit surprised at her son's exclamation as her ran over to her. She noticed he was shaking and instantly reached out to him, and pulled him closer to her. She bent down and nuzzled her cub trying to calm him. "Are you okay my little one. You seem awfully frightened. Did you have a bad dream."
Siti was concerned because Tenji seemed so spooked and nightmare were not something she'd had to deal with any of the other cubs.

Against all of his wishes to act like a adult Tendaji snuggled into his mother when she nuzzled him. After a moment of letting the warmth of the sun and the comfort of his mother sooth his frazzled nerves Ten let out a sigh, one that was laden with all the unknown fears of the dream, and stepped out of his mother's embrace but didnt leave her side. With his voice clear but quite he spoke, "I dreamed but I dont remember much just the dark forest then a vast dark plain. Mom what are dreams and why can they have such holds over us that we lose all thought?" He asked as he sat in the shadow of his mom and looked to the trees.

Siti looked to her youngest son in surprise. His words were very wise for one so young. It led her to wonder if he had been here before. "My my little one, but that does sound disconcerting, but the nightmare has passed and I am here. I would never let anything hurt you."
She though about her son's question for a moment before answering him, "Dreams are thing we think about when we are sleep. They come appear in pictures and colors. Some they can be rather scary and that when they are showing us our fears. You don't really lose all thought because they have a hold over you, but more sometimes they have your thoughts going faster than you have time to grab onto on."
Siti lifted her paw and to ruffle her son mane tuff.

As Siti was explaining about dreams, the last of the adrenaline that was coursing through Ten's system drained from him like water from a spilled cup. His already tired body seemed to grow heaver every second and the warmth of the sun and his mom right next to him, seemed to add to the sleepy feeling.
He laid down and placed his head on his paws and yawned all the while trying to understand what his mom was saying. "Oh ok I think I understand." He mumbled as his eyes closed and he sunk into sleep, barely feeling it when his mom ruffled his hair.

Siti looked down at her tucker little boy. Mito's only son from the litter He reminded her of him, but she thought he had her personality. Siti smiled at the cub, who entised thought of her friend. She knew she would have to go back and thank him. He really had, even if unknowingly, made her life much better.
Siti bend down and gently picked her cub up, powerful jaws gently around the cubs scruff. She carried the little one into the den setting him down and then settling down next to him. She knew Udo and Korrin would watch the girls, now her son need her.
