Well since Gohan didn't start a thread with one of his threads with a WONDERFUL summary (seriously Gohan they rock) I decided to start one of my own. And if someone *hint nudge* wants to do a summary that'd be just lovely!
Lady Leo's craptastic summary of "I, Monster":
The guys and Casey head out to some abandoned buildings for a training game that's "capture the flag ninja style". Mikey has a bandana tied to his arm and a 30 second head start and they have to find him. Naturally things don't go as planned (of course!) and Mikey gets kidnapped by a mysterious bandaged guy who ties him to a piece of woods and leaves him to the rats.
WHO COULD THIS BE?!
Mikey does escape the rats of course and runs out where his brothers are standing. Being the sudden Raphael wannabe Leo runs inside ahead of the guys who follow him inside and they meet mysterious dude who they know as Rat King.
After running into Senor Mysterious for the first time (before they found Mikey), fighting off masses of rats, running outside, running inside, and just generally running all over the damn place Leo and Rat King fight. OH how they fight. And Leonardo refuses to let anyone help him, being the solitary git that he's become.
In the end Rat King falls into his rats and the guys leave believing that their enemy has been nibbled to death. We know otherwise however.
Keep in mind that I'm new to the series so I KNOW there was some backstory there that I missed. I haven't seen the ep that he was flashing back to, sorry guys. My summaries SUCK... don't make me do it again.

This entire season really does seem to be about Leo. Even when he's not the focus of the episode his totally OOC angst is so overwhelmingly THERE that it seems to overshadow a lot of the other action. That could be just me. I'd count this as a fairly Leo-centric episode though. And believe it or not I'm sick of them. Give the other guys some glory as well, and damnit GIVE LEO HIS CHARACTER BACK!!!!! So...
The bad *Leo's brooding totally killed what would have been some good cute fun moments with the guys basically playing around. *I didn't like that Leo kept attacking Rat King when he wasn't fighting back. *That "I've had enough of this madness" line was stupid. *Mikey's Battle Nexus Champion comment combined with the other Battle Nexus comment that was in Wing and a Prayer (which I've now seen thanks to Mystic) just highlights the fact that the episodes are being shown out of order. Wtf?!
The good *At least he pushed Rat King out of the way when the building was falling down. *Raph's remark about Leo having more than one monster to battle was cool. *Rat King was freakin' badass!!! I thought the OS Rat King was lame but this one ROCKED! *This is just me but I loved that Casey was included in their "ninja games". mrgreen

It's weird that the episodes were put out of order. The preview for next episode was good and it kind of seems like Leo is finally back to normal in the preview. He didn't have that dark voice that he has had for awhile. I guess we can only hope.

Considering there are two more unreleased eps that have been put out on the dvds it's safe to say that Leo is not on his way to happyville just yet. It's looking like at least three more episodes before he gets the swift kick in the a** he needs.

<_<
Well my weekend has been PACKED. Haven't had a chance to sit down and write a summary.
Teh episode rocked though, and Rat King, is one freaking kickass guy! And I agree, that "I've had enough of this madness" was terribleee. =/ And Casey in this episode was really good, I'm glad he was there.
And, I think it's fairly obvious as to where this guy came from, but nonetheless I would really like to see more of Rat King here... he's definitely the most interesting thing int he series for a while, and definitely so far this season.
The only thing I DON'T get is WHY the rats seem to follow him. Hmmm..

I was trying to post a topic about this last night, but Gaia kept effing up... I would have done a lengthy poll and everything (like the original ones I did way back when). Oh well, shikata ga nai.
The Rat King is actually a previous villain the Turtles fought, in this episode, whose name I forgot (it's in a toy-related topic here on the Guild I posted, but the Guild isn't letting me on any of the old pages!!!). He's a bio-android clone of Agent Bishop.
I never knew Leo could perform the Shoryuken!

See I've never seen that ep but when I was fast forwarding through Mystic's tape to watch Wing and a Prayer I saw little bits and it looked awfully familiar. Now I guess I should go back and watch it so I can see wtf was going on.
Or y'know I could watch ALL the eps I've missed since I have the first two seasons now.

I never knew Leo could perform the Shoryuken! well it was obvious he was some experiment from bishop...but i didn't know they had fought him before. thanks, for pointing that out uh...when did he do the shoryuken? i must have missed that part i also liked how leo said he felt like he'd seen these moves before overall, i really liked this episode...but then again i like it when they bring back any old-school characters like ratking and letherhead, etc. lady leo - i should point out from your synopsis that they didn't know him as ratking. in fact, he was never called ratking in the entire episode. he was just the monster or something. but we all know he's the ratking wink ...or at least they had better eventually acknowledge him as the ratking whee

Oh yeah, well I know that... guess I coulda made that clear but whatever. Technically we're all just assuming that that's who he is, but y'know... well it's kind of obvious. *L* At least to us older folks.

Yep, Gohan's summaries do rock! xd
I enjoyed this episode because of it's familiar characters. Thanks for referring us to that episode, S.
I liked Mikey's comment to one of the rats, where he said something like "My master Splinter is a rat... are any of you his relatives?" xd
Was Bishop was successful in extracting Splinter's DNA? I must've missed that episode.
Rat King didn't get to feed his pets! crying But the rats got him in the end... or did they? ninja

Um... no.
I mean he's sitting there talking to/holding one of the rats in the end.
Actually I was productively lazy today and did stills from this episode... that I will link later because I need to SLEEP now.

Hmm, that COULD explain why the rats react to the "monster" the way they do. I haven't seen season three in a while, hopefully once it's done *ahrm* being obtained, I'll be able to better theorize over how Rat King survived...why the rats listen to him, etc.

How retarded of them is more like it. I'm not sure what the hell is going on with the way they're releasing the dvds.
Cousin Sid, Dragon's Brew and Bad Day (unaired so far) are on the last Season 3 dvd, then I, Monster and All Hallow's Eve (or whatever it's called) are both on the most recent dvd which as far as I can tell just have random episodes that weren't released... not sure if they're all from season 3 or what.
