Say if there is a Pure Land follower and they recited Amitabha's name, how can they also recite other mantras like Jizo (Ksitigarbha) and Kannon's (Avalokiteshvara)? Can they? And how? If they are chanting Amitabha, how do they find time for chanting other mantras?

I could have swore that I posted to this...anyway

I think that an equivelant to chanting more that one thing physicaly is to mentaly chant one thing while you physically chant another, because this causes you to think about more than one chant at the same time, thus creating the effect of chanting more than one thing for the same amount of time.

Kannon=Avalokiteshvara?!!!!! I disagree! I know this is off topic but I always thought that Kannon was SHINTO influence onto Nirshan culture...

I know for a fact that I did post here. So I'm not going to bother repeating myself.

India (Avalokiteshvara) -> Tibet (Chenresig) -> China (Kuan Yin/Guan Yin) -> Japan (Kannon)

Kannon is not originally Shinto, but she may have made her way in there while Buddhism and Shinto co-existed throughout Japan's long history. Except for that embarassing little part of history where the two were fiercely segregated from each other.
