I wonder...look.

The Bladed Vases are animated Vases, right? So if the Vase gods are...Vases, and Rin and Lin say they're antique gods of Chaloc, then the animated weren't born when we think....

The vase gods also only appear after a brief back-and-forth with Chaloc. i'm rather sure that no other Animated does that...
even the Stone Coatl is just an animated statue.
