Sean was not, to say the least, a big reader. That was more of his sister's thing. He much prefered little plastic army men, cars, tanks, spaceships...anything that could create explosions, basically. He liked sports too, as long as he got to hit or kick something. Books, however, offered none of this. Even books with pictures of explosions and the like was still unentertaining.

So how had he ended up in the library? There was a children's story time at 3:00 and Rye had decided to drop him off early. This meant he had to go and take care of himself while the babies had their story time. Not that he was interested his story time either.

He sat at one of the tables, seeing how fast he could flip through some of the books he had pulled out.

Sean wasn't the only library patron that was less than thrilled to be there. Minerva flipped through her short little picture books slowly. She didn't like them. They were boring and smelled weird.

During one little spell of pouting about the stupid books and mean daddies who made their girls read them, she spotted Sean. Her eyes widened comically and she picked up a book and moved closer to him. Foxy.

"Hello."

Sean's large ears turned before he did. He slammed his book shut as loudly as he could and looked in her direction. His gaze was narrow and full of suspition. Girls. If this one was anything like his sister he'd prefer the books. At least he wouldn't have someone telling him how much fun reading was and how he should stop fidgiting and bla bla bla bla.

"Wha?" He asked, wondering why she had come over here. Well, she wasn't one of the babies from story time.

Minny looked down at the books around Sean, noting how he'd shut his book so hard.

"Don' like 'em either?" She asked, pointing at the book. "Boring."

Sean kept a wary eye on her. Her agreement was strange to him and he wasn't sure what to make of it. His ears pulled back a little, grumpily set as he reluctantly continued to talk to the young girl.

"They're only good to throw, or drop and freak someone out," he commented, mentioning the ways he tortured his older sister.

Minerva smiled. Oh, throwing books wouldn't go over well! It'd be very, very funny though. He was a funny foxy.

"Or to hide behind." She said. "They's good to make forts with. I's Minny."

"I've never made a book fort," Sean admitted, his ears twitching in deep thought. His tail began to sway a little, the way it did when he was ready to do something that was surely against the rules. Decidedly he hopped down from his chair, motioning her to follow him. She had apparently won the right to hang out.

"Sean," he told her, before moving on quickly to his plan, "Let's make one. But we should use all the grown-up books...they're thicker."

Minny nodded and grinned. The adult books were indeed thicker!

"There's oo-zwally not too many people in...." She thought for a moment. What was the section again.... "Non-fiction? It smells really dusty at the back. That would be a good place!"

"That's cause they're all bout dead old guys!" Sean said sagely, as if he had read them himself. It was a challenge to get him to read anything, let alone any of those serious books. He had, however, seen their covers from time to time, and it was true they often featured the picture of some man or another.

He immediately began to head towards that section, his steps deliberate and quick. They weren't fast enough to attract attention from adults, but he certainly didn't waste any time. He was eager to get started.

Minerva toddled after him, pulling down a big book when she got to a good space. Big! She put it down carefully, slowly. No dropping and making noise!

"Why so many books 'bout dead guys?" She grumbled. Stupid old dead people! It's not like anyone cared about you now. If they were pretty, then books could be about them. Or shiny. Shiny people would get books too if Minny had her way.
