For once, she was not lingering by the water. Today Horowai had chosen a nice spot near the heart of the pride - wanting to watch the bustle of other members and hoping, that by making herself visible - she'd get some attention. Some 'congratulations' or 'well done, Horowai' or even the oo's and ahh's of other lionesses who had been mothers before her.
However, her plan wasn't working out too well. A lot of the lionesses were out on their hunts this day and those that were around seemed too lost in thought to spare her a glance. And with each passing moment the young female began to find herself losing patience. She was clearly pregnant. Her belly was so big it was hard to get around! Yet, no one said anything to her! Damn them all! Damn them ALL!! Did they know what she was thinking? Did they know that by approaching her they'd be playing straight into her paws? And if they did, how?!
With a growl she let her tail flick at those annoying, insistent flies and shifted slightly.
Being pregnant wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Where were all the happy female faces peering at her? Where was the crowd of lionesses asking her about what she planned to call her children? In fact, none but Tess had asked her anything.
And she knew why...
Her reputation as an attention seeker...
They probably thought she'd gotten herself pregnant on purpose! Well she'd show them! She'd show them all!
With a smirk, she stood and tottered forwards a few steps, then, summoned all her acting skills and released a pain-filled moan, staggering sideways a little.
If that didn't get someone's attention, she didn't know what would!

She had been happily wasting her free time now that she was back home doing nothing really. She had been teaching Mlinda and Moto about the clan between the times she was helping Kichaa clean up.
All and all it was so much better than being out on her own
She raised an ear as she heard a rather odd sound in the jungle. There was no way someone would have gotten past the guards and she wondered who would be dumb enough to hurt themselves in another way.
Shaking her head she moved off in that direction to see what all the commotion was about. Could someone have really been hurt?

For a long moment Horowai thought that no one was going to come to answer her call, to see if she needed help. Would they really ignore her? Would they really pass her by without so much as batting an eyelid? As time drifted on she suspected that they were and, with an angry grimace, she paused to lean against a tree, huffing angrily. And then, suddenly, she heard the footfalls of someone approaching.
So it had worked!
Gearing herself up for an act that was sure to fool anyone, she drew away from the tree, hung her head and swaggered unsteadily towards the sound. She opened her mouth and gave another grown.
"Ugh...pain..." She grunted. Lifting her eyes to see if anyone was close enough to hear her.

She padded toward the sounds and eventually stopped when she spotted what appeared to be a lioness in pain. She wasn't quite sure what to make of it all the way out here.
"Umm ... are you alright?" She didn't recognize the lioness so that must mean she wasn't around before the plague. Or her memory was just failing her. "If you are in pain you should be where someone can help you, you know"
