Dahlmir sighed as he looked up, blinking when something cold fell onto his nose. It seemed he was right. He had scented a storm coming but he didn't think it would have come this soon. He shook himself and got up, twitching his ears instinctivly for danger before heading east to look for some shelter. There seemed to be a forest up ahead and surely, the leaves would be large enough to protect him until the storm let up. He didn't think many animals would be out in the storm so he took a detour. It would probably be best to catch something before he went into the trees. He was more of a field type and had a harder time hunting with all those roots in the way.
The rain was pouring hard by the time he got into the forest, a bird in his jaws. He didn't particularly enjoy fowl but it was better than nothing he supposed. He laid down under what seemed to be a big tree. There were many bushes nearby and he could always go under one of those if he needed to, he thought as he ripped a wing off, spitting out some feathers. Might as well eat the best parts last, he thought.

Under the bushes, something lurked...something horrid and terrifying! It lifted its head, red eyes glowing, as it smelt fresh blood. Something was laying before him...a wounded animal?! What luck! Something leapt out of the bush. It was sopping wet, light and loud. Growling and making tiny yips, Myrkur grabbed Dahlmir's tail in his maw. He was a ratty little thing- fur sticking up all over, ribs showing, dry and cracked nose, bloodshot (or just red) eyes and crooked teeth. He was a sorry, sad looking sight. He fought the tail until he noticed what it was attached to. He dropped it and gave a long whine, crawling back under the bush.

Dahlmir jumped in surprise when something from one of the bushes nearby jumped out at him. Whatever it was was soaking wet so that could explain why he hadn't scented him before. He watched as it gnawed on his tail, wondering what the heck it was. It didn't hurt, though, and he realized it was a small pup by the time it let go. "Didn't your parents ever teach you some manners?" he growled. Sure, the pup looked pitiful but that wasn't his fault and he took his bird away a few feet. He continued tearing at his meal, occasionally glaring at the young pup and uttering a low growl so that he would get the message.

The pup remained under the bush, panting in and out heavily, glaring at the bigger wolf. His little belly rumbled and he gave a long whining noise, eyeing the dead bird. He smacked his lips and laid his fur flat, ears back. He hadn't eaten in days...but daddy said to wait here for him.

Dahlmir had to admit that the pup was getting to him somewhat. "Where are your parents, anyways?" he asked so that he could stall. Maybe if the pup took a long time to tell him, he could finish off the bird. He tore off its other wing, growling again. Why where there so many god forbidden feathers?! He tucked it between his paws and crunched off a leg instead, going back to the feather once he spat out a claw. He noticed the hungry look the pup had for his bird and he turned so that the pup could only see his shoulder.

His eyes flicked to the cave in the hill...the fire had long died down and only a cindered tree spoke of its existance. His dad had run back into the cave to get his mom, ordering the pup to stay under the bush... but he had never returned. Myrkur whined loudly and clenched his eyes. He smacked his lips again and gave another whine.

"What?" Dahlmir snapped, his patienece growing thin. Maybe it was best to just move away from the area completely. He followed the direction the pup was looking at to see a tree. He was about to turn and ask what was so important about the tree when he noticed it was darker than the others. He squinted for a better view. Sure, it was draped in shadow, but it shouldn't have been that dark. He saw a thin wisp of smoke form before the rain knocked it away. Fire. So that was it. He didn't think asking about the pup's parents would help anymore. He could guess what had happened. He muttered something about why they couldn't teach their silly little pup that chocolate was poisonous before they died, his tail twitching. He glanced at the pup again before sighing. "Fine." he grumbled, throwing the wing he was in the middle of eating towards the pup. At least that meant he could get to the good parts faster. He tore the beak off and nibbled at the flesh that clung to it before throwing it away, too. After ripping some tail feathers away, he started biting down into its chest, the blood still warm as it dripped into his mouth.

Myrkur whined again and took the wing. He was chewing the feathers with a pained look on his face. He spat them out a few seconds later, not liking the taste of the wing.
He padded out towards the older helix and sat down, eyeing the bloody chest. He remembered that if he sat with his mouth open, his mum used to put food in it. He opened his maw as wide as it could go, merley sitting there.

Dahlmir eyed the pup as he tore a chunk of meat off, chewing it slowly. "Don't waste food." he said when the pup left the wing lying there. He growled instinctivly when he came closer and his fur bristled. He tucked the rest of the meat between his paws so that the pup wouldn't be able to reach it. "Go eat your own food." he snarled, deliberatly ripping off another piece of the bird and eating it slowly. Maybe if he taunted the pup enough, he would get angry and leave him. He wished the pup was older or something, so he could smack him away.

He lowered his head and gave another small whining noise, panting and shivering with his sopping wet fur. Instead of going for the older helix's food, he walked beside him and laid down, curling up against him to try and warm up. He was all alone in the world, hungry, cold and so traumatized that he had been left without a voice. Didn't the chocolate helix realize that he was begging for help?

Dahlmir shivered when the pup suddenly curled against him. "Hey." he said, scooting away. Just because the pup was cold didn't mean he had to be. "Here." he said, throwing a small piece of meat a few feet away. He didn't want the thing touching him while he was still cold. He tried to finish the rest of the bird quickly so that even if he managed to feel guild, he would be full and content and wouldn't have to give anything to the pup. Maybe he would leave if he noticed Dahlmir didn't have any food left.

He pushed himself to his feet weakly and padded back out into the rain to get the tidbet. He chewed it with his little teeth and swallowed it. He shook himself, doing nothing to relieve how wet he was, then padded back over to Dalhmir, panting thankfully and nuzzling against him, still trying to warm up.

Dahlmir snorted when the pup ran off. That was easy, he thought, going back to his meal. He didn't really expect the pup to come back but he did and he glared again. "Don't you have something better to do?" he asked, trying to move away from the pup and eat at the same time. After a while, when the nuzzling didn't stop, he sighed. "Forget it." he said, not feeling hungry when something slimy seemed to be rubbing itself against him. He pushed what was left of the bird towards the pup and got up, looking for another place he could stay in.

He didn't seem to want the bird. He padded underneath Dhamlir to stay even more warm and dry, panting happily. He did not know he was being a pain and wanted to stay with this big helix.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Dahlmir said, trying to walk past the pup. "If you don't want the bird, then I'll take it." he said, walking back to it. How old was this pup? Didn't his parents teach him anything? "What's your name, anyways?" he said, reaching the meat. He starting eating it again, wanting to finish quickly so he could run or something. The little stalker was making him uncomfortable, even if he was just a pup. He could've been a spy or something. At the thought, he glanced around nervously, his muscles tensing subtly. He looked at the pup again for any suspicious movements.
