I was reeeally luck and was in a division that graduated on Christmas Eve; and they gave us leave because the A-schools were closed for the holidays. So I'm writing this from my fiancee's computer, and I fly out to my A-school (Intelligence Specialist, Dam Neck Virginia) on Saturday.

For anyone going in, I strongly advise doing everything you can to go in as an E-3, and make -sure- that your recruiters turn in the paperwork saying you're an E-3; there were a couple people in my division that got screwed over by their recruiters and ended up as E-1s when they were promised E3.

It means more money being earned in boot camp and afterwards, and being a year and a half ahead of most of your shipmates in RTC.
