The title is so fitting. X3

Humans. So vile, yet even he had to give them credit where it was do. Centuries of prolonged longevity and a form of weaponry had been developed that was quite effective against the Winiko. Phoreko continued to lap at the puncture wound in his forearm. A single bullet at passed through, leaving a perfect hole within the meat and marrow.

Unfortunately for his attackers, the attempt at wounding him, to divert his rage, had only encouraged him. None of them had survived. Once more the exhilaration of the hunt had found him. This was his calling. This was his lifelong pursuit... and oh, how he relished it.

Finally he was satisfied. The wound had begun to heal, the bleeding staunched. With a shift of his weight, he rose to his paws and glanced about to the clearing below. Snow had heavily fallen the night prior. No evidence of the frozen soil beneath it could be seen. Though it was frigid to the touch, it provided a perfect cushion as he leapt down upon the undisturbed mounds.

What now?

Perhaps it was time to torment a long lost adversary...

A snicker bellowed from him as he began to paw through the entangled vegetation of the lonely wood.

Arry felt strange inside. Her swollen belly was proof of what was going on with her. She never expected what would happen that night...what did. Was she ready for this? Did she want to have the devil spawn? She touched her tummy lighty with her fore paw. Was she ready to be a mother? Arry's head spun as she went over it all.

The moon shone bright that night; it was too bright for her liking...her mood. Through the trees she swayed slowly as she made her way back to the place where he usually resided. Was she ready to face him this time? Tell him he is going to be a father? Arry turned her head back towards the way she came contemplating if she should turn back.Run. Run far away. Then she heard snapping noises of breaking twigs. She knew he was there. She sighed.

Trampling through the snow, Phoreko gazed up at the moon. It was the harvest moon, perfectly round and gleaming an orange hue. A heavy sigh managed to escape from the layers of broken bone and scarred tissue: what remained of his jaw. Once more he lapped at the air, savoring winter's flavor before setting off back down the path.

However, soon he stopped. Someone had wandered into his haven. He quirked his head to the side, reaching out with his mind... and soon he procured his answer: it was the little nightingale. Immediately remnants of several nights prior pranced through his mind, jerking his ever expressive eyes into sneers all their own.

Instead of the usual ambush approach, the air about him began to tremble and distort until his very form dispersed from his present location. Soon after, he rematerialized several steps ahead of Arry with a mischievous air about him.

My, my... yet another visit from my little nightingale: how immodest of you...

Yes...another 'visit' of great importance this time...Phoreko. She stepped forward more closely to the nearest tree then to him. She needed to stabilize herself immediately. Her eyes were out of focus; her third eye was ached so bad her head spun once more. She blinked frantically to focus on him. She wavered, almost phasing but not. She slumped to her right side against the tree as her moans engulfed their heads. Slowly she feinted to the ground cradling her belly. She was burning up even for the coldness of the night.

Great importance? Having lived life spontaneously and of his own accord, nothing ever hailed itself as being "important." Yet despite this outlook on life, even he had been taken a back as Arry collapsed to the ground.

It was abrupt. In all honesty, he had never been presented with such a situation. Any past coital encounters often ended in death for the participating parties. Allowing Arry to live had been an exception to his lifelong tradition of sorts, and to make matters worst... here she was, craddling herself in agony.

...

Words refrained from vocalization. Several tentative steps brought him forward: it was more than likely an act. Phoreko, having known her beauty, could not set aside the notion that she would also be notorious for flocking for attention. Than again, perhaps she sought to double cross him. He immediately grew rigid, his talons unsheathing and his lash of a tongue began to ripple about anxiously.

What is this?!

It was a bark of a statement as he slung one her arms about, forcing her to look up into his mangled maw.

Her vision was a haze as she forced herself to look up at him. What she was feeling must be the morning sickness of being pregnant. Except with demons it's extremely worst.

She heard two heart beats then. They were weak not theirs. I'm....with child...two...Phore..ko...Her head swam as her belly squirmed for that instant.

And they are yours... She was weak, burning to the touch. It was as if she was in hell once more. The air wavered as she phased in and out where she lid. Then she was gone. All that remained where she was was a spot of blood on the snow.

And within those few moments, his world collapsed in upon him. She most certainly was not putting on a farce. The pain, the delirium... even he could not put on such an elaborate show.

... Children?

The once brilliance hue that billowed about his murderous eyes seemed to dim. His once lolling tongue grew still with small lines of dribble cascading down its length. This... this she must have been jesting. For he knew how vile of a creature he was. Thousands he'd slain and many more he intended on disposing of in the future. Surely if there was a merciful god, he'd strike him with sterility.

Alas, god was cruel. The one thing that he should never be "blessed" with had in turn become a curse. Tremors rocked throughout his body, causing his muscles to undulate and his claws to burrow deep within the barren soil.

You must be...

But his words had been sheered thin: no where was Arry to be found. The only trace of her was a small patch of snow speckled crimson. Lowering his head to gather its scent and lap at it to acquire its flavor, he attempted to locate her. Winiko could locate others of their kind assuming a powerful connection had been formed. Surely this would suffice... and with that, he dove into the rift of the Inbetween.

It was time. Arry lay there on the heated alter; she was never in so much agony since her face burning than she was now. Actually what was happening felt worse.

Mysterious she looked; the Great Wini Lady prepared the array of candles, cloths, and elixirs for the coming of the babies.

The little boy was the first to arrive. The Great Wini Lady sung a chant as she handled him gently, and placed him in the special bundle cloth lightly tying the sacred amulet around him so he could be summoned when it was time.

Arry twisted her head when she felt a familiar presence appear. She wasn't sure if he even followed but now she knew.

Within seconds their next child was born. A girl it was. The Great Wini Lady prepared her the same way as her brother but handled her with extra care for her left eye had been damaged during birth. Taking a extra piece of enchanted bundle cloth she tore it and wrapped it around the damaged eye.

Arry looked with concern but she was too weak to move. Stepping back over to her The Great Wini Lady helped her drink. Arry shifted to look back at Phoreko, she closed her eyes and slept.

Laid out before his eyes was the very scene that had vexed him since the moment Arry uttered those words. Two small bundles of wriggling life had been gently set beside his nightingale's exhausted form. Only for a moment had she peered towards him before slipping into unconsciousness.

... I... can't believe it...

It was all he could muster. That which he had feared throughout his tyrantesque lifestyle had manifested into solidity. Many a Winiko he had courted; however, those that he had seduced were than hastily destroyed. Perhaps... perhaps that was why these two lives had been born. His weakness, his one moment of morality lashed out in retribution for the many sins he had committed so long ago.

The luminescent form of the Winiko Maiden glared not at him, but within him. Her gaze was molten: she surely saw all that he had done in the past. Yet despite her disapproval in his very livelihood, Phoreko managed to sneer and return her gave.

Don't think these two little brats are going to change my ways, woman...
