The air was cool, and Wei was out wandering by herself again, loving every bit of her time alone. She had wandered near the water's edge, but stayed close to the large flower patch. The rushing of the water created nice background noise, allowing Wei to think about other things.

Phirun dipped her white toes into the shallows of the rushing water, her belly still lying on dry land, and giving her safety while still feeling the pull of the current on her front feet. She smiled softly to herself, pleased to have found a respite from her twin's torments and the bother of boisterous siblings in general.

The air breezing in from the river melded with the flowers behind her to create a sweet perfume that hung in the air but played out of her senses. As she took in a contented breath, the leopon closed her eyes and rested her head on her paws, glad to spend the say in such a paradise.

Wei closed her eyes as the cool wind blew through her fur; she turned her head down stream, from where the wind was coming from. Opening her eyes, a small grey creature stuck out amidst the grass. Wei had never seen her before, but that didn't say much; Wei didn't give most of her fellow pridesmen the time of day. But this one seemed.......different. She was out alone, like herself. Not wanting to intrude upon her solice, Wei simply sat in the flowers and stared.

Phirun's eyes were far more restless than the rest of her, and she tilted her head in one direction after the other, looking for signs of birds in flight, debris in the running water, or even a troublesome sibling. But what she did find, was none of the above, instead, a small brown form, less leopard and more lion, and sitting in a manner that suggested she was ...... Staring at her....?

Her mouth pulled down and her head tilted to one side as she returned her gaze. "What?" She was just loud enough to call out to her, but she didn't speak in an offensive or rude manner.

Wei blinked; it took a few moments for what just happened to sink in. Someone was looking back at her. She glanced around before finally trotting over near the other cub, avoiding eye contact. She sat a few feet away, giving the other cub as much space as she may have wanted. "I-I just.....normally don't see someone else out here." her manner of speech was flustered; she normally didn't talk to others, and others certainly didn't talk to her that often. "So.....what are you doing out here, anyway?" attempting sincerity, Wei looked straight at the other cub and cracked a small smile.

Phirun's bi-colored eyes observed the lion cub without judging, and they watched as she sat down a few steps away. Tilting her head, she rose to her feet, paced towards the cub, and sat down. She'd seen adults have conversations in manners closer to this, and Phirun emulated what she had seen. Her peer seeming shy, Phirun adopted a smile, though it wasn't wholly felt, and she fiddled her toes in the moist ground as she tried to think of an answer.

"Well.... I didn't want to be around my brothers, really, so I came here to be alone," she said, not really taking notice of any implications attached to her words, just nonchalantly answering rather than trying to drive her away. "So, why're you here?"
Clearly, Phirun too, had a lot to learn about cub behavior.

Cracking a small smile, Wei loosened her muscles. "I just.....I enjoy coming out here to be alone and her the sounds of the water." she lifter her head, letting the wind blow through her fur. "It's nice to have some company, though." giggling, Wei mussed with the grass beneath her paws, not believing she was being so bold with another.

Phirun's grin was more childish now, as she related to what Wei said. She nodded in earnest, and wagged her leopard-esc tail through the grass. Besides the flower fields and evenings listening to the seers and story tellers, this was her favorite spot, though she'd never noticed this cub here before until now....

She bobbed her head and spoke up. "I'm Phirun. Who're you?"

Her tail drifting in the wind, Wei paused, letting her mind gather. "I....." her large eyes glanced down moment, then raised her head swiftly. "I'm Wei." her lips perched together, clenching each other in her nervousness. Feeling confident, she sat on the grass, carefully sliding over closer to Phirun. As the water gently caressed her toes, she sighed happily.

Phirun nodded, committing the name to memory. She mimicked Wei dipping her toes, and plopped her entire front paws in, giggling as minnows darted away from them only to return in a matter of seconds, and she began herding them, playing god for these little creatures. As she did, she lifted a paw and sent some down to her new friend, watching expectantly to see how she would play with them. "Look!" She said, excited and giddy.

Wei watched carefully as Phirun moved the small creatures around in the water; she wasn't expecting them to be sent her way, and she squeaked happily as the twiddled her toes around in the water.

"What are these little things?" Wei leaned her head in close, so her nose was barely touching the water.

Phirun leaned in closer as well. "They're little fish things! Not good for eating, but they're fun little toys." She shoved her foot down to squish them, knowing the minnows would dart out of the way, scales shimmering and eyes gaping. She wrinkled her nose and giggled as she muddied her paws, and turned to wipe a little on Wei.

"Ew, that's cold!" Wei smiled and shivered as Phirun wiped mud onto her brown coat; it didn't show too much, but it stuck in her fur. Jumping into the water, Wei tried to wash the mud off, but to avail. Instead of returning to the grass, she begun to splash water towards Phirun.

Phirun stuck her little pink tongue out at the female and toddled into the water after her, ducking under water only to spring out like a fierce river beast, splashing Wei back tenfold after her first assault. The little leopon, content with her revenge, waded in deeper to her chest, careful of the currents and the dangers under the winding river, but at ease and peaceful with its pace. She closed her bi-colored eyes and began humming a cheery tune to herself, and to Wei if she chose to listen. The cub puttered around the water for a while longer before returning to shore and shaking off, droplets of water scattering around her.

Wei seemed confused; first Phirun had attacked her, then she was humming, and now she was running away from her. She didn't know what to think of the situation, and she stood frozen in the water.

Finally coming to her senses, Wei ran out of the water after Phirun, only slipping in the mud momentarily as she came up off the bank.
