Hon was laying down on the soft grass, in a meodow nearby the mansion, on Kazuyo's grounds, reading A Pirate's Love. She was so engrossed in her book that she did not hear the footsteps that came up behind her. She did not even notice when another fox lay down beside her until she finished the chapter she was on and set the book down to stretch. She looked up to see Star watching her calmly. She blinked rapidly for a few seconds before exclaiming, "Oh, Star, hi, sorry wasn't ignoring you, just got caught up in my book." She was rambling.

Star smiled and gave a gentle laugh. "Do not worry about it. I know how you like your books." He stretched then lay back down. "Besides, it is nice watching you read." Star wasn't sure what he had said to make the sudden blush on Hon's lovely face appear, but he found it cute. She was a gentle fox and he liked that about her. She was always nice to everyone and stayed out of trouble. He wondered why she didn't have a mate yet, especially with all the new boys who had joined Kazuyo's pack, including Star himself. He knew that Minuit had a mate and knew that he was not one of Kazuyo's crew. He wondered if Hon had someone outside of the mansion. The thought made him sad.

Hon blushed as he said that he liked watching her read. She did not understand why someone would enjoy just sitting there watching someone else. She had to be reading or telling stories, or at least doing something to occupy her time. But Star just calmly sat there. She suddenly wondered about his past and wondered whether he had fallen in love with a fox and used to watch her sleep. This thought made Hon jealous and her blush got even brighter. She needed to get her directions elsewhere. "Do you like to read, Star? Know any good books that I should read?" Books were always a safe topic.

Star smiled as her blush began to deepen. He wondered what she was self-concious about. He watched her settle and ask him about books. Star loved how she was loyal to her passions. "You were reading A Pirate's Love, correct? By Johanna Lindsey? Good author, and great romance. Always loved a good romance, especially a historical one. If you like romance, I would recommend Nora Roberts and a few other authors, among some other series. Is there a particular genre you prefer?" Star asked, enjoying her company, though he did notice that she was nervous around him.

Hon gave him a gentle smile. "I have always been a romance girl. To fall in love and have a happy ending. Who can say no to that?" she asked and blushed again. "Sorry, guess I shouldn't say something like that to you." She was embarrassed at her words but it left her the perfect opportunity to ask if he had someone he loved or a mate. Once he said yes, she could stop worrying about why she got embarrassed around him and why her heart seemed to flutter since he recently joined up with Kazuyo's family. She couldn't be falling in love with him. Could she? So she willed herself to be brave and asked, "So do you someone you love, someone you left behind when you came here? A mate, someone special?" She waited for his answer.

Star's ears perked when she brought up the topic and he had to smile. This was perfect. He was definately interested in Hon and it seemed she was interested in him. Well, he could be wrong so he answered cautiously, "No, I have never been in love. I have never had a mate, not have been interested in having a mate. Well,before I came here at least. What about you? Do you love another fox or have a mate?" For someone as calm as Star, he really did not want to wait for the answer, he wasn't in love with Hon, at least not yet. But he could see himself falling for the gentle fox if given the chance and she was available. He would never poach on someone's ground.

Hon blushed and averted her face. "Um, no, actually I haven't found someone yet, not that I haven't wanted to, just guess I haven't found that special someone yet." She gave a shakey laugh. "Besides, I spend too much time in my books to have given much thought about it before." She picked up her book again and set it before him. "Would you like to read it outloud with me?" she asked, hoping he said yes. She could not, would not fall for a fox that didn't appreciate a good book.

Star smiled at her avert face. She was adorable and even better available. He was beginning to enjoy her company even more than he had before. She was gentle and kind, and included people. "I would love to." he said and smiled as she looked at him and her blush deepened. He could tell she liked him too, and even if they had met only once before, he knew that he would be head of heels for her soon enough. He took the book with his paw and flipped it open to where her book mark lay and began to read the book aloud. He could see her calming down as he read and he smiled internally. She was just so cute when she was embarrased.

Hon loved the sound of his calm voice as he read the book aloud to her, not even asking her to take over. She blushed at one of the more detailed romance scenes while she watched in awe as he kept a straight face and tone as he read it. She scooted closer to him, so that she could see the words and by the time he finished the book, she was leaning up against him, quite content to stay where she was. She was getting sleepy and she looked around to see the sun was sinking in the sky. "Wow, we have been out here quite late today." She had never spent so much time with another fox before, let alone a male fox. She was really beginning to like Star and hoped he stayed around here for a while.

Star smiled at the beautiful fox and stood carefully, so that she did not fall. "Shall we go home?" he asked, waiting patiently for her to join him as she scurried to her feet bewildered. He had to smile at how cute she was to him. They walked back the Kazuyo's mansion as a slow walk, and enjoyed each other's company in silence. They entered the house and he walked her to her designated room. "Perhaps you will join me tomorrow with another book?" he asked kindly, knowing the weather would again be nice the next day.

Hon blushed and gave him another of her gentle smiles. "I would like that," she replied and said goodbye before entering her room. She was excited that he had asked her to join him tomorrow and as she got ready for bed, she wondered which book she should bring with her tomorrow. She searched her collection and settled on another romance, this time by Nora Roberts. She hoped he liked it as she drifted off to sleep, dreaming of what could be if the two of them did hook up one day. She was smiling even in her sleep.

Star had slept well the night before and was waiting for Hon when she came into the kitchen for breakfast. Kazuyo served them, before heading off to do some other work in the house that needed to be done. As they ate quickly, Star noticed how pretty she looked today. "So, what have you chosen for us to read today?" he asked, smiling at her from his bowl as they sat on the ground in the kitchen. She ate daintly, and neatly he noticed, which made him smile. It was nice to know that she did not make large messes.

Hon looked up blushing. "It is called Angel's Fall by Nora Roberts. I hope you like it, wasn't sure what to pick." Hon kept on blushing, she knew that she was crushing a lot on Star but she didn't even know if he had any plans on staying with Kazuyo and thus her. She hoped so but she was nervous about approaching the topic so she decided to be frank. "Will you be leaving Kazuyo's mansion soon? Or will you be staying like the others?" she asked, half fearing, half looking forward to his answer.

Star gave her a smile. "Yes, I think I should be staying here for quite a while. There is something here that I like, and hope to adventually get to have all to myself one day." Star answered, giving her an even more brilliant smile than his previous one. He was glad she was asking questions about him as it meant she had an interest in seeing him again. At least that was what he hoped. "Shall we grab some food to go and find a nice meadow spot to sit down and read?" he asked, as he finished his last bite and stood.
