Nosferatu had come to the concert with his family. It was an indoor concert in some sort of large arena within Durem since the weather outside was chill and wintery but children still needed something to entertain their minds lest they get cabin fever and create problems at home (at least that was the theory behind this event). A roller skating rink was set up but unless you were lucky to have your own skates you had to pay for a pair of rentals that had seen more feet than one cared to think about.
He was being followed by his older sister, Magdalena, as he moved about the grounds with a discerning eye (and ear). The music wasn’t quite his speed but that was alright he could enjoy it for what it was for now. Shadowing just behind the smaller children was a taller boy child with hair that looked like it was done up in dreads. The boy was keeping a careful eye upon his much younger siblings. A duty he had taken upon himself whilst their guardian was off in the restroom.
“S’music is not fast ‘nough, Magg’eh.” Nos drawled quietly as he strolled on tiny clawed feet. The boy refused shoes and barely allowed warm socks to be placed on them. Once they arrived at the arena the socks had come off.
Maggie shifted a shoulder as she followed her dark haired sibling, “It is okay, brother. I kind of like it,” She said in a faintly more annunciated and dignified soft-spoken speech.
“Pah, you wouldn’t know real music. You sit and play with that stringy thing all day.” The boy scoffed lightly.
“I do so!” the nightshade girl protest crossing her arms over her chest with a small pout. Her light voice only raised a single octave but even that was not enough to garner attention or concern from surrounding folk.

Madeline had dropped off her eldest, Taig, with her brother, for the child had recently become far too much trouble for her to handle out in public. Her worst fears will soon be realized when the boy breaches the rebellious teen age, but to calm her sanity, she has her new bundle of joy, who is following quietly at her side.
Clop, clop, clop. Daimhin has the misfortune of announcing where he is at all times, minus any run-ins with carpeting (so far he's just managed to fall on his face on that stuff). He doesn't seem the mind it, though, as the low noise is quite comforting to the ears of a spirit who had once sought out the most excitable of beats on his own terms.
"You want to help Mommy find out where our seats are?" Maddy chimes, giving Dai's pudgy hand a squeeze. He gives a strong one back, wordlessly nyomming on the butt of his single drumstick. His mother had bought him a complete pair, but he likes to carry around just one.
A commotion to the ox's left causes him to stop in his place. Maddy takes two complete steps before realizing her youngest has broken from her grasp. Dai stares ahead at a pretty girl with flowery bits, and a little boy with extra rubbery arms. Curious!

Magdalena made a face of young consternation at her younger sibling as her small arms crossed over her chest. The nerve of this boy! Challenging her taste in music! Fah! She’ll show him, “I know good music! An’ you are the one that fell asleep when I was practicing my lap harp the other day! You were smiling.” She said in a snide manner and her expression of consternation faded away to smugness.
“Fell asleep cos’ I was bored!” Nosferatu retorted spreading both his wings and his arms out toward his sides with fingers splayed. He was defending himself in the face of small girl logic and failing slightly as he looked uncertain of his defense.
Maggie just sniffed and turned her head away.
Nos turned and began to stalk away from his sister and into the crowd and almost bumped into Dai due to his blind attempt at fleeing. “’Eys!”

"Sorry," Dai mumbles sheepishly, stumbling backwards to further himself from Nos. He glances to his left before bringing his knuckles to his cheeks to rub at them. He hates getting embarrassed, but it seems to happen all too frequently ever since he can remember.. so, since Christmastime.
He shuffles his hooves to let the boy pass, and almost stomps on himself out of a lack of coordination. He glares down at them as if to tell them off for misbehaving. His drumstick pokes out from where it's tucked into the back of his pants as the ox boy leans forward.

Nos blinked and stepped back a little to watch the other boy with some interest. His head tilted to the side as his mop of wild black hair flopped to that same side. The other boy had drumsticks! He could see them poking out of the pocket and stuff. That was pretty snazzy indeed. "'Eys! Ya play?" he asked bluntly, it was an odd question for a toddler to ask but it seemed that music was in his soul whether or not he knew it. His wing-talons clasped together over his collarbone forming a sort of cloak as he watched the other boy with curiosity. "I'm Nos!" he said as he appeared to blatantly, for the moment, ignore the other boy's guardian and the creeping figure of his older sister coming toward him, either to continue the argument or to apologize.

Dai pauses in brief confusion before putting two and two together. Play.. music! He nods in an over exaggerated manner, his tiny teeth chewing on his bottom lip a little out of nervous habit.
"Daimhin," he says in barely more than a mumble, "But chew can say Dai, if y'wanna.."
He thumbs one of his drumsticks just as his mother reunites with him. He stares at his hooves as she, like clockwork, asks the nosy questions.
"Oh! You've found a friend!" She puts a hand at Dai's back to nudge some false confidence into him. "What's his name, honey? Did you ask?"
Dai nods, his eyes glued to his hooves. Embaaaarassing. He tugs out the drumstick he'd been playing with and hugs it to his chest between both his hands. "He's Nos, Mommy," he says to his drumstick, barely able to keep his eyes away from anywhere lower than everyone else's. The horrifically shy boy hates being put on the spot, but most of all, something about the other boy makes him feel funny, like he should have already known what his name was. Maybe he's seen him outside before.

Nosferatu just grinned up at Dai's mother and said, "Hi!" the boy could only ignore the adult for so long before someone of his own family would likely come along to correct him, probably. Nearby he heard his sister's familiar shuffling as she stood behind him. Heh! Go figure she couldn't stay away from him very long, probably using him as some sort of a security blanket.
"Yeah! I'm Dai's friend, right? We'll be friends." It was as much a statement as a command as Nos seemed to have deemed the shy boy worthy of 'friendship' status despite his obvious shyness. For some reason the batboy seemed to want to keep Dai by his side by whatever means were needed. After a moment he pointed back at his sister, "That's Maggie, but she's a brat."
"Am not! Stop lying Nos!" The nightshade girl called out indignantly from behind her brother.
