 Jinx sat by the nearly frozen lake. She was bored and wanted to talk to others. She sure seemed to be on her own alot. Was it her jinx? She knew that she could hurt others and hated that, but still she longed to be with others.
Jinx looked to the lake. "If I could walk, I'd try skating."

Tima found herself wandering beside a frozen lake, not really having any idea how she got there. It didn't bother her terribly; it seemed as though there was always something she was forgetting, no matter what. It bothered her sometimes; what if she ended up doing something wrong and forgetting about it?
She spotted a colorful namir a small ways ahead of her and sitting beside the frozen lake. Tima's eyes widened; she had never seen the namir before, and she liked her color. Completely unafraid, she began to walk straight toward her.

Jinx stood up and thought about walking over to the lake. She had seen others skating on it. It looked like a lot of fun, still she was too scared too. Even there she fell to the snowy ground. "I love snow, it cushions the fall." Jinx then looked over and saw the smaller anthro.

Tima's eyes also darted to the forms skating on the lake. It looked fun, but something about the lake's clouded surface disturbed her. The snow was distraction enough for her without worrying about strange stiff water.
She reached the other anthro and just stood there, staring. She tried to say hello, but for some reason it was having trouble coming out. Maybe it was because she didn't use it often enough.

"Hello there. I'm Jinx. It's a cold day isn't it?" Jinx told the other anthro as she sat up. Her bum was cold and a bit sore from the fall, but she was used to it. Still, she didn't feel like standing at the moment.

Tima crouched down beside Jinx, showing no hint of amusement or mockery at the other's fall. The only expression she seemed to have was curiousity; the one she wore the most often. "Cold?" she inquired, puzzled. She looked down at the snow and scooped up a handful, staring at it the way others would stare at an interesting bug. She remembered this stuff.....that one time. There was so much of it....and steps, lots of steps. The shouting and a clatter as something small and dark flew towards her and landed with a muffled crunch, black against the snow. A panicked voice echoed in her ears. "Tima! Get the gun!" She reached out with her hand, only to see it vanish, and she was once more crouched beside the anthro, the snow that was in her outstretched hand spilled back onto the snow-covered ground.

"Are you okay?" Jinx asked as she watched the other hold onto the snow. "Yeah, um it's cold out today. I mean sure we have fur and you have clothes, but it's still kind of cold out here." She wasn't sure what to say.

Tima turned and tried to smile at the other. "I am alright; just thinking things. Old things, from a long time ago." She straightened up and held her hand out the way she had seen it done by....who? "My name is Tima."

"It's nice to meet you Tima" Jinx shook the girls hand with a smile. "So, do you like the snow? I think it's pretty just a bit cold." Jinx told Tima with another smile. Jinx then looked back at the ice. "Ever skated?"

"Cold...." Tima repeated half to herself once the handshake was completed. She looked at the few remnants of snow that continued to cling to her small hand, the one that had held snow. She didn't feel any discomfort; nothing really different in that hand. Maybe it was something else the anthro was referring to. Still, Tima didn't like being different in that way; it made her seem too....unnatural.
"Skated?" she blinked and looked out at the ice along with Jinx. That must be what the others had been doing out there; moving so gracefully, like birds on a flat cloud.... "I don't think I ever have....skated."

"I haven't. I don't think I could. I can barely stand on a non slick surface let along a slick one. Still, they do look like they are having fun, don't they?" Jinx said as she followed Tima's gaze to the skaters. She wanted to try, but thought she should know better.

Tima smiled a little as she continued to watch the skaters. They DID look happy, even the ones that fell down and slid around on their rear ends. They just laughed and shakily got back up to resume their gliding.
Peering hard at a few, Tima looked from them to her small shoes, thinking. "Do they just walk along the ice?" She carefully walked over to the ice and began walking upon it. She did okay for a few steps, but tehn she felt her foot fly out from under her and she found herself lying on her back in surprise.

"I think some have skates, but not sure where they..." Before she could finish Tima was on the ice. Jinx smiled as she watched and as she watched her fall. Jinx called out, "Are you okay?" Before finally taking a few small slow steps onto the ice herself. She tried her best to stay up so she could check on Tima, but Jinx fell as well.

Sitting up immediately, Tima looked over at Jinx, hair a little mussed but otherwise completely unhurt. "Yes. Are you?" She tried to rise, but her first step sent her leg jutting out to the side and she steadied herself quickly before she fell back down. "I don't think the ice wants us to walk on it."

I don't think anything wants me to walk on it." Jinx chuckled at her inside joke. "Yeah, I"m okay. I think my butt is getting thinker so it doesn't hurt as much." Another joke for herself. The anthro then tried to get up. She didn't make it very far without falling back down.
