Found that out the other day. I was pretty shocked by that. I wasn't suprised they would sign allmendinger, it was that they kicked sadler out. Apparently some of the sponsors aren't happy and it was a financial decision. Your Thoughts?

I don't have anything against Elliot, but since he left Yates, he hasn 't really done anything but stay in the top 35. Allmendinger has at least gotten some top 10s late in the season, and shows a lot of potential, even in an underfunded team. (Yes, I consider GEM underfunded)

I agree with Triple. GEM needed to make this move and Sadler has only been a field filler. Allmendinger has a lot of potential in Cup and will have a good career from this point forward.

Elliot has been flat the past few seasons. Maybe this will be a change for the good.

From Nascar.comyeah I kinda hope he wins, GEM needs to learn that he cant just kick his drivers out. Carpentier should have done something.

Ya know, now that I've had a few days to ponder about this, I'm pretty much sided with Elliot on this one. I mean, the poor guy just signed a contract extention through 2010, so that means that he'd have to turn down any other offers to drive when the drivers pool is a little over loaded right now, and if he were to go looking for another team right now, I think he'd be up the creek without a paddle. If I were Sadler and found out through a sponsor that my car owner didn't want me anymore right after I signed an extention, I'd be pretty pissed too. And what about the #10 car? Why can't Allmendinger drive that one while Sadler keeps driving the #19?
I dunno. GEM is just turning into one of those employers with a habit of screwing it's employees.

Sounds like GEM has backed down. Elliot will be driving the 19 next year...for now. rolleyes No official word on what A.J. is going to drive as the 10 car finished 37th in owners points last year, forcing him to qualify for the first 5 races. The double whammy is that the 10 car only has sponsors lined up for the first 8 races so far.
