Jason Powell or prowrestling.net is reporting that Christian Cage is currently planned to be revealed as the person who attacked current WWE Champion Jeff Hardy before the Survivor Series. A match between the two is currently on the books for Wrestlemania.
It hasn't been officially confirmed that Christian has signed with WWE, but sources in TNA have been saying for weeks that they believe he is heading back to WWE.

Wow, that would be awesome. But they're freaking sure he'll come back to plan storylines before signing him officially surprised

Jason Powell of Prowrestling.net is reporting that Christian is very close to signing a deal with WWE and that plans are already underway to bring him into the company to work a possible program with Jeff Hardy. The seed has been planted with Hardy being attacked prior to the Survivor Series PPV in November, and it is expected that Christian will be revealed as the culprit. It should also be noted that TNA seems to be under the impression that Christian is indeed headed back to WWE.

well if they run with Christian dropping Jeff prior to the WWE Title Match just so edge could get in, they might as well have Edge and Christian reunite in some way

Well there's a lot of possible scenarios with such a plan.
A) They simply stay on single and Cage goes for the WWE title over Edge while he deals with the Big Show.
B) Cage takes the spot, but because of jealousy, Edge ruins the chances, leading to a face Christian on SmackDown. I would say a face Edge, but Christian proved he could draw as a face on TNA, and creative team always preferred Edge as a heel.
C) Huge build-up to revive a big tag team rivalry, Hardys vs Edge & Christian.

hopefully this isnt to dead of a thread....but it seems that maybe matt hardy may move to smackdown to help jeff out considering that he dropped the title to swagger...
