Talvi sighed as she sat next to her little snow friend. The snowman had been made by humans and she had abducted it. Becuase of her frigid home, he had never melted. He had been her best friend since she left her pack. "Well, Snow," she said, looking up at the sky. "Its gunna be another cold night." her blue fur shivered.

"Err... 'Uzzat?" Piped up a small, yet spunky voice. The pup tilted his head to one side and grinned as his tail wagged. He was alone, as he always was. His parents had just sort of... Vanished one night. He didn't know why and he had been searching for them in vain.
The lonely pup had found another Helix at last, after rough days and freezing nights. He sat back on his haunches and pawed at the snowy earth playfully as he peered at Talvi. His bright hued paws and dark main pelt stuck out in the snow like a sore thumb and his multicolored eyes glistened cheerfully.

Talvi paused as a soft noise carried over the snow. She turned and sighted the small pup. Since Snowy was on her head, she smiled in a gentle way. "Hey there, little fella!" she said, padding over, scarf dragging. "Isn't it a bit cold to be out without a scarf? The snow pack will find you and bite your nose."

"Y'dinna answer my question!" He yipped playfully and wagged his white tipped tail. "Uzzat? An yeah, s'kinda cold... But I'm perfectly fine. I was bored sittin' all 'oled up inna cave." He continued as he bounded through the snow in playful leaps. His tail sliced through the air in wild delight as he studied the older Helix with the wierd snow-thing on her head. The scarf was funny, too. He had no idea what it was, especially with him spending most of his time alone.
"Uzzat thing 'round your neck, too, huh?" He badgered as he poked the older Helix with his snout.

She tilted her head and snowy almost fell off. "He's my man. My Snowy. He's a snowman." she said. She didn't let him get closer. Snowy might slip off and then get struck to the rest of the snow.
"And the thing on my neck is a scarf, you silly boy. And what's up with you eyes?" she backed away when his nose prodded her.

"Uzza snowman?" He asked curiously. Being so far North and being so young, he still had no concept of man, let alone a snowman. He wiggled as close as he could get to Talvi, as close as she would let him get, anyways. He tried to touch the scarf with his sniffing nose and his tail continued to wag.
"S'nothin' wrong with my eyes! I see just fine! An' you call me silly!" The pup protested, but his curiosity was still too great and it had been so long since he had gotten to play. He tilted his gaze upwards to the female, letting her see his eyes clearly. The right was blue and the left was green.

"A snowman is the thing on my head." she said. "and no, you may not have him. Snowy is mine."
She looked down into his eyes. "Your eyes are pretty." She said. "One of them is just the wrong colour." she said, wagging her tail a bit. She let him sniff her scarf. "A little human gave it to me."

"But what is it?" He insisted as he sat on his haunches and waved his forepaws in the air playfully. "An' 'uzza human?" He badgered as he tilted his little head to one side.
"'Sides, I dun' want your Snowy, I just dunno what it is! an my eye ain't wrong! S'just fine!" He fell to all fours again and stood, tail wagging.

"Its two balls of snow mixed together and it looks like a little human. and a human is a big animal with two legs." she said, tail waving. She backed up when his legs flew through the air. She smiled. "and your eye is wrong. they're different colours. I'm talvi, by the way."

"They ain't!" He grumbled in response as he flopped back on his haunches and turned his head to one side. ""You just got bad eyesight, 'can't even see that it's fine. Huh."
It was just different, is all, although the pup did not want to admit it. He had never seen his own eyes, anyways, so he had no idea what she spoke of. She made it sound wrong, though, so he would deny it completely.
"An my name starts wi' Tal, too! I'm Talikov!"

She smiled. "You're cute. Its nice to meet you, Talikov." she snuffled his head. She checked around the area with her eyes. "Where's your mommy?"

"I," he began in a rather proud, almost flaunting tone, "don't 'ave one. I wassn't born or nothin,' so I ain't got a mum. I live inna cave over that way." With an easy flick of his little head, he motioned towards the way he had come.
Not having a mother, or another helix for that matter, would probably explain why the little youngster was some damned skinny.
"An' I c'n take care 'o myself just fine. Alla the packs 'n bears 'n stuff are scared 'o me." He lied in a defensive manner.

Talvi's ears lowered when he spoke. That was such a lie...and so sad. The little thing needed more food then what he seemed to be getting now. She reached out and gave his cheek a lick. He was too little to be living on his own. Granted, she'd only grown big enough to be on her own a while ago, but she knew the harships of having no pack.
"Would you like a nice rabbit?" she asked.

"Rabbit?" He practically croaked after Talvi spoke. He was hungry, extremely hungry. The mere thought of food caused his little, pinched stomach to grumble loudly.
The small, starving pup flopped back on his haunches and peered up at the adolescent Helix with hungry, mismatched eyes and a hopeful expression. "You c'n catch a rabbit? I ain't even seen 'un in a long, long time. I'd like 'in. They're all to scared 'o me, 'cos I'd beat 'em up too fast." He excused his inability to stalk after and catch a rabbit out of embarassment.
But he was still only a pup. One his size ought to not be hunting in the first place, let alone being away from his mother's warmth and milk.

she smiled and nodded. "i can catch them." she said. "follow me." She wouldn't leave the pup alone now that she'd found him. He'd die.
She motioned for him to take a hold of her scraf. "Come on then. I have a cache somewhere you can snack on until i get a rabbit."
