I'd really like someone else's opinion of what they think of my little drawing. Well here it is. I know it's a bit big because I didn't want to resize it. I'm not very good at that. And yes I know there are blue lines everywhere. I drew on notebook paper. The lines somewhat help when I draw. Oh well, any opinions? How can I make it better.

first: how long have you been drawing? okay, don't take any offense to my criticism, because I am bluntly honest and am going to give it to you as I see it.
STUDY HUMAN ANATOMY. It doesn't matter if this is a human-cat hybrid or whatever, but anything with a human body structure must follow human anatomy. A few points I'd like to point out: *Head Shape- His head is a bit lumpy (no offense) so try to make it more head like, you know? *Where is his other foot? *His fingers look great, but the hands definitely should be bigger. Also, since one hand is in front of another, then make his front hand larger. *Mouth should be lower, and nose should be more distinct. *The ears should be curved more. *The hair should show strands. *What is the line on his cheek? and the black thing under his eye? Make these more prominent and show what they are. * The eye should be lower. * The rest of the body should be larger in proportion to the head. The shoulders should be wider, the clavicle lest distinct, the arms larger, and the clothing should show more folds where the body parts bend. The thing around the waist should be wider, and thicker. *I would also check how pants fold around the legs, and then draw the folds. Also, what kind of fabric is on the left leg? You can't just draw it with up and down strokes, it should be all moving one way, and one way ONLY. * The front leg should only be slightly larger with the pant leg, but not too much. * Also try not to draw on notebook paper, it bothers the crap outta me. Anyway, if it helps, try drawing extremely light lines on blank white paper, and then erasing them when you're done.
Keep up the good work. And redraw it, because when you receive crit. like this, you're probably gonna take it hard, but that's okay...Just redraw, repost it up here, and I'll tell you how it goes!

Its the same thing i tell my own brothers, don't try to draw from your head because you don't know how to draw yet. You need to start taking in information, and draw things you see. Magazine drawings, anime drawings of characters, draw people. Drawing people is the most important thing in drawing. So basically thats what you need to do. Its all about hard work, and consistency. Like aristotle says, the only thing i know is that i don't know anything. You have to think the same way, your parting point is always that you don't know anything. Even if you were at a professional level, you always try to take in more and more information, do research on images, draw from real life images.

YA like what david said. Im sure as heck not professional quality when it comes to my art but Ive improved greatly in the past 9 years and my beginning was actually drawing Yugioh and Sailor Moon. I never once traced ....god forbid!! I'll kill myself before I trace a picture!!!! I looked at it and drew it that way. and observing people, discretly of course is the best way to learn. Magazines help alot too!!!
