well lets discuss puppeteers as used in rps.......
the way i do it is by haveing someone with next to zero abilitys or fighting abilitys capable of brinigng puppets to life and leading them into battle!
sorta like haveing marona from phantom brave perpetualy on level 10 with no skills aside from repairing puppets and cntrolling them
but i balance it out by haveing the puppets themselves with great abilites! some of which destroy the puppet in the process causeing it to break

Im not sure i understand what your getting at, are you saying you have the main character as a weak person use them to lead stronger minions into battle?
