That completely took me by surprise eek . Even now when I think about it I just think: I can't believe that happened.
I don't blame Rose for wanting go and (highlight to read) kill him.I'm also a little bit happy about what she said to Lissa at the end.
So,how did you feel about this?

Personally, I was not taken by surprise, I knew that something to the extream would have had to hapen for Reachel Mead to continue the books and Dimitri's ending was one of the many posibilties that went through my head. It thought it was a powerful moment when everything came together when we learned that he had been turned.

It took me by surprise, but it makes a perfect way to continue the series - and leave fans hanging. :3 • « can you hear it now? » ---

I was actually surprised at it. I was soooo sad!
but it does make the book better by giving readers a twist and keeping it going. Gaaahh, but it's torture having to wait. *sigh* I can't wait for the next book!

I feel a little sad for Rose you know? It stinks! But it does keep you reading and wondering if the two of them will ever be together! But at the end of the book it says 'Then I went to go kill the man I love.' It makes you wonder, if she really does love him....... Will she really kill him?

I had the book before my friends and they bugged me to tell them what happened because i was so depressed for a couple of weeks. The first friend who borrowed my book came to school pissed. she said she threw the book she was so mad lol. I was so happy before and after the whole invasion because Dimitri figured everything out, then it took a few minutes to realize (highlight for spoiler)he was was killed, and when it finally hit me I plunged into depresion.

yeah...ps...so did not see that coming. was anyone else really really upset? i thought that based on the synopsis, and the earliest parts of the book, rose would have to choose between rose and christian! so to throw dimitri in there was a shock!!! i'm sorta hoping he'll magically be ok, but...at the same time, i dont want the story to end that...sappily. it would be really predictable. but i think we can trust richelle mead to throw some more shockers at us in the next book.

and Dimitri. . . . . . I almost threw the book. I was so upset!

I was so surprised but I'm glad that she did that. Seriously, it would be oh so perfect and everything falls into place like Twilight. No thank you. I was sad that Dimitri turned but at the same time I wanted to know what Rose'll do. I can't wait to read the next book but I don't want to wait that long. crying

I just finished the book today and am still in shock. To tell you the truth, I didn't really like Dimitri to begin with, but right when I began to like him, boom! What happens to him happens! I understand why she did it, myself wanting to be an author, you need to find a way to hook the readers and that certainly does that. I do something similair in a couple of my books, leaving it hanging like that. Now I can't wait til' July! It won't come soon enough for me!

I was reading it in class, my draw dropped and I screamed "NO WAY!!! He can't be Strigoi!!!" and I got so many weird looks.
I was seriously surprised by it. I NEVER expected HIM to turn, maybe Adrian but never Dimitri.

i read the book so many times!!!!! and i still can't believe the ending especially the last sentence!!!!!!! when she says i'm going to kill the man i love. I didn't want demitri to turn into a strigoi but he did!!!!!! and i still can't belive it. I just hope they get together some how biggrin i can't wait for the next book to come out!!!!!!!!!!!
