Josie’s natural hair color is a dark shade of brown. On normal days her long waves, but when the air is moist or when it comes in contact with water it curls tightly. Josie’s eyes match her hair in color. In shape, they are very round and are accompanied by heavily lidded eyes.
Pet
Josie’s pet is a red ermine with a white belly. His name is Pan, named after a character from the books of one of her favorite muggle authors. Pan usually hides in the inside pocket of her coat.
Home Life
Josie lives in Ballycastle, Antrim, Northern Ireland with her mother, stepfather, and seven brothers and sisters.
Selene Gutierrez Salamanca: Josie’s mother. Selene is 37 years of age and works at the Ministry of Magic at the Department of International Magical Cooperation. She is very conservative and is not very fond of ‘modern, new age ideas’. She likes to keep everything the same.
Luis Gutierrez: Josie’s step-father. He’s been in Josie’s family since her mother was five months pregnant with her and her two sisters (Josie and her two sisters are triplets). Luis and Josie do not have a very good relationship. While she tries to grab his attention, he pushes her away even more. As you might have guessed, he isn’t very fond of Josie, for reasons that are unknown to her. He prefers very much to be around his wife and other children. Because he doesn’t like to be around Josie, but with her other siblings, she feels a certain dislike for him and jealousy towards her bothers and sisters.
Monica and Toni Salamanca: Josie’s sisters. Altogether, Josie, Monica, and Toni are triplets. Josie has always felt jealous of her sisters because of the relationship they have with Luis. Regardless of the jealousy she feels towards them, she can’t help but love and get along with them. Monica and Toni attend a wizarding school in Ireland.
Jared Gutierrez: Josie’s fourteen year old brother. Jared was adopted by Selene and Luis shortly after his brother, Matthew’s (also adopted by Selene and Luis), birth. He is white and has curly blonde hair. Unlike Josie, he does not attend Hogwarts. He goes to a Wizarding school in Ireland.
Matthew “Matt” Gutierrez: Josie’s thirteen year old brother. Like mentioned before, Matthew and Jared are biological brothers. Matt is a spitting image of his older brother, the only difference between the two is that Matt has brown eyes while his brother has blue. Josie and her brother have a very close relationship, partly due to the fact that Matt goes to Hogwarts along side his older sister.
Nella Gutierrez: Josie’s twelve year old sister. Like her older brothers, she, too, is adopted. Nella is a black Hispanic adopted from Puerto Rico when she was a few weeks old. She looks up to Josie more than anyone else in the family, besides her parents, and constantly follows Josie around and mimics her older sister’s behavior. Nella attends a wizarding school in Ireland.
Esmeralda “Esme/Ez” Gutierrez: Esme is the newest member to the Gutierrez-Salamanca family. She was born two years ago is the first child the Selene and Luis have had together.
Colbie Rowe: Josie’s biological father. Colbie is 35 years old, and a photographer. He and Selene divorced when she was five months pregnant with Josie and her sisters. Since then, he hasn’t been in Josie’s life very much. He calls occasionally, but, otherwise, he doesn’t come in contact with her very often. He lives with his girlfriend in West London.
Diving deeper
People think Josie isn’t much different than your normal fifteen year old, but there must be something. There must be something that the headmistress of Hogwarts saw to transfer her to Hogwarts. Josie doesn’t see anything special in herself. So then what must it be?
Josie is a tad bit overweight. She has thick thighs and pudgy midsection. Her arms are fat too, and tend to jiggle when she writes. Because her arms tend to do that, other kids in her year and house make fun of her and tease her about her weight. She’s pretty self-conscious and shy and is hesitant to make new friends, fearing that when they really get to know her, they won’t like her very much and think she’s boring, so she keeps to herself, usually burring her head in newest book to hit bookstores.
Josie loves to read and escape the reality in which she must live in. She mostly reads fantasy and romance books, for she longs for a man to sweep her off her feet take her to some far away land. Jo likes to write too. She writes the same types of stories that she reads, and hopes to one day get them published.
One of the many loves of Josie, besides literature and writing, are watching quidditch and playing the occasional game, which she is good at. But she would not ever dare try out for the Ravenclaw team for fear of utter embarrassment from her housemates. Josie also likes going to Divination, Astronomy, Trasnfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons. In her first year, before she was transferred to Hogwarts, Josie loved History of Magic, but when she transferred and had Professor Binns as her instructor, she hated it.
Taking a closer look
(During the First day of classes)
Josie snuck into the Astronomy room as quietly as possible, but she still managed to grab the attention of a few bored souls. She grabbed a seat in the back of classroom where all the graffitied desks sat. She propped her knapsack on her lap and slipped out her notebook and a quill.
She looked around to see if anyone had noticed her presence. No one’s laughing, so they must not know I’m here. she assured herself.
Moments later Professor Vega strode into her classroom holding a stack of parchment paper. She held the stack up and waved the sheets in the air. “Tests!” she sang. “I’ve graded those exams you took last week.” One by one she walked down the aisles passing papers out to students and saying little remarks based on the grade each of her student’s had gotten. When she reached Josie, she stopped and smiled. Josie rose her brows and smiled nervously at her professor.
“Congrats, Ms. Salamanca.” she murmured with a smile. “You did the best out of all my students.”
A few curious Ravenclaws turned around when they heard ‘the best’ and their names not being said afterward. I stared down at my lap, controlling the grin that was forming on my face. “Thanks.” I said quietly. “Thanks a lot.”

You have been Accepted
to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I love her. I simply adore Jo. Her imperfections make her relatable and real,
as if she's a character in a novel, not just a RPC. The enormity of her family
also gives Josie more substance and understanding as to why her shy personality
developed. Her weight, Luis-jealousy, self-consciousness, fantasizing ideals
of romance and introverted ways are welcomed wholeheartedly! I am absolutely
thrilled to learn what becomes of your character and what she will add to
this guild! Welcome, welcome and welcome. I hope you enjoy it here. xDD
