Paige came to the island after hearing about the Kyn inhabitants, and quickly became bonded to a pearl Japanese male named Shinju when she was just sixteen. Because of her young age, Shinju became especially protective of her.

Paige was originally very shy, which induced her second Kyn, Kaaruni, to also be overprotective. But her shyness has faded with age, and although she can be quiet, she can also be outspoken. In general, Paige is kind-hearted, but that can lead her to be too lenient and trusting.

She prefers living with her den, far from any towns, and has a fairly good relationship with Aedan and the ranch, visiting to trade kills from the forest for things that she needs - medicines, textiles, and often a cup of tea.

Smallest Love
Hakuryu

Small enough to perch on Paige's shoulder, Hakuryu is only a little larger than a hatchling of the other species. His wingspan is roughly that of a human's armspan, despite his technically Japanese Kyn heritage.

Hakuryu is often jealous of other Kyns, which might be rooted in his diminuitive stature. Regardless of the cause, it creates constant trouble between him and Shinju. Not to mention that Shinju's son, Banshou, also enjoys tormenting the smaller Kyn.

Despite his size, Hakuryu doesn't seem fazed by the idea of tackling Kyn ten times his own size - and often lets Banshou know it.

Banshou's sister, Asayake, often treats Hakuryu with great care and respect. At times, he despises her attention, but sometimes he enjoys the pampering.
