The Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and not a battle could be found
Not a village was stirring, not even the Sound.
The weapons were cleaned and stored with care
All in knowing that a peaceful season would be theirs.
The students were exhausted and tucked in their beds
With memories of snowy training playing in their heads.
And Kaachan in her nightgown and I still in my mask,
We rested in each other’s arms without having to ask.
When there in the distance, I felt someone approach,
I sprang from the bed to see who could encroach.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
But finding a stray toy, I almost fell with a crash.
The air from the window was chilled with fresh snow,
That seemed to cast a divine glow upon the landscape below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
a figure on the roof, appearing to be in full gear.
But no, not a threat, this figure who had come.
It was Shinobi Claus who stepped from the shadows he had appeared from.
Then in the blink of an eye, he was gone once more
A shinobi by trade. Who really needed a door?
He was dressed all in red from his head to his feet
And one had to admit that this wasn’t too discrete.
But unhindered and unnoticed, he slipped to the tree
And began to leave presents that would bring the children glee.
Quickly finishing his task, he turned with a jerk,
Once more looking over his Christmas Eve work.
Dolls for the girls and trucks for the boys,
And lots of noisemakers that the parents will enjoy.
Happy indeed, he raised his toy sack
And smiled that his schedule was still on track.
In a puff of smoke, he once more left my view.
I smiled as I knew this had only been seen by few.
But I heard him exclaim, as he left to the night:
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!"

*chuckles* Some, but I worked hard on it.. Still had this Suess rhyming thing going on for like an hour after I finished.

And awesome, glad you liked them. I was excited to find an eye scar.
