I'm an overweight (albeit very flexible) person who would like to make it to pointe in the fine art of ballet. How should I go about this? Any tips or exercises to help me reach my goal? (I know it would help to be in ballet classes, but that is beyond my expenses. Perhaps some strength training or something?) Thank you!

I Suggest You To Jog Miss~ Enough For 20 Minutes a day . (Continuously Do It . This Is For Losing Weight) It's Affect All Parts Of The Body . And Go For a Diet Too . (Don't Over Do It . Losing Weight Too) And Stretch To Maintain Your Flexibility . Find a Friends With Ballet Specialty And Ask Her/Him(Mostly Her) To Teach You How To Do Pointe . That's It . And Goodluck With My Idea .

If your in school, you could set up a ballet club with other people and you all can work to help each other get to pointe... probably. I've never done ballet, so i don't know if that's at all helpful, but you could try it.
