(This is just to keep track of an in-shop RP between Ohanzee and Annelise)
Ohanzee was in mid air, his hind paws just off the ground. He had made sure he was alone before he looked at his shake again. "So. You gonna be a little boy or a little girl?" He smiled slightly, picking the pot up again. How a shake had pot was beyond him. But he didn't care.
Annelise layed up in the very treetops of an old tree. Her wings strecthed, as she yawned. Another restless night of sleep, as well as the cold of winter nipping at her body. "A nice fly oughta do me good," she said softly to herself. Taking a slow run, Anne managed to fall a foot and let her wings catch the air. A shadow over her, as she peered up seeing a lion and shake.
Ohanzee looked down when he heard a voice, spotting a lioness taking off for a flight. He instantly hid his smile and replaced it with a sort of sneer. "Hey there. Haven't seen you before." He chuckled. With a few flaps he rose higher until he felt sure she wouldn't colide with him and his shake.
Hearing him speak to her, she nearly forgot to watch where she was going. Ducking under a high hanging tree branch, she looked back up to see him rise. "Likewise. I'm Annelise," Anne was eyeing the shake. She was curious as to why he had it, and why not the mother. "If you don't mind me asking, why do you have that shake?"
"Names Ohanzee, and it's not really important, but the "mother" and i split. She took one shake and I took the other." He watched her, wondering what she thought he'd do to it. Not like he'd hurt it. "I can tell ya think I can't handle it. I don' look the part. But I'm not gonna drop it or anything." He grew protective as he spoke, holding the shake closer. It was his offspring, why not protect it?
Annelise listened, knowing he was only being a father. "I never said that," her voice was kind as she spoke. "I've just never met a lion who took his role seriously," she meant it to be kind, though her response could've been taken any way. Anne was never one to be judgemental or mean to others. Really she was marked as being too nice.
When she spoke he started to relax noticeably. "Well...yea. It's my kid, why not?" He looked down at the shake then. "I wonder if It'll be a boy or a girl. I won't know for a while yet..." He didn't care which really. Having a kid had softened him a bit. Though he hated anybody to see that, this lioness seemed kind enough to understand. "Ya know. I didn't want to be a dad. But..." He smiled gently at the shake. "...it's not so bad..."
Annelise smiled softly. "You're very good at it. I haven't seen a young one grow like this shake has on you." In reality she longed for her own family, but never really thought about. The shake he held reminded her of the little ones she used to watch until they were cubs. "Once they grow to be cubs, they keep you busy. But it's worth it."
Ohanzee looked at her for a moment. "You've raised shakes before? What's it like? Do they like to rough house? Do they.." He froze for a moment before speaking again. "...do they need two parents? Is it better for them to have a mom and a dad? Can a dad really raise a shake alone?" His fears were coming forward. He hadn't really thought of this before, but what if he failed?
Annelise was overwhelmed by his questions, but tackled each one seperately. "Not raised, but I have watched them for friends," she paused to wrack her brain through so many memories. "They do love to play and tackle each other, and can be a hand full," there she paused hearing the next question. "They don't need two parents. It's not always the best. As long as you love and care for the yougling, I'm sure you can take care of it," she smiled softly. Anne understood his concerns, and thought it was sweet he wanted the best for his shake.

Ohanzee looked up from his shake to her again, a smile forming across his mouth. She really was a sweet lioness. What was her name? Annelise. "Thank you Annelise, your the first friendly face I've met in a very long time." His paw gently rubbed the shake in a soothing manner.

She smiled. "Thank you. You're the first father I've met that's very caring," Annelise let her wings stretch out more, so she was able to glide along side him. But she made sure to be careful as not to bump Ohanzee and his shake. "I haven't really seen many others in a while. But I'm glad I've met you."

He tensed for a moment when she flew closer, but managed to relax when she spoke again. "Thank you." He looked at her with a smile, holding the shake close. "I'm glad I met you too." He then carefully held the shake out a little to her. "Would you like to hold it?"

Annelise smiled softly, as she carefully took the shake from him. "I'd love to," she nodded. Cradling the shake in her paws, she held it gently but firm so she wouldn't drop it. "I wonder what you'll be," Anne cooed, "This little one will grow to be beautiful," her voice was soothing as she hummed lightly. To most it seemed as though Anne was a mother, but in reality she had been around so many cubs and shakes in her past, that being motherly was a natural thing.

Ohanzee watched her, a warmth filling him. The sight made him feel so...happy. When was the last time he felt happy? A long time ago. The way she cradled it made him think of a mother holding her baby. His smile grew as she hummed softly to it. "I can't wait to see it when it grows more. I wonder if it is a boy or girl..." That stopped him, he stayed in mid air next to Annelise in thought. He could wrestle with a son, but he could pamper a daughter. Either would warm his swampy heart.

Annelise watched the shake with warmth and a mother's care in her eyes as well as in her touch. It had been a while since she had last seen one. She always cared for each one like it was her own. Loving it as well like it was her own. She knew this shake was going to be just as sweet as Ohanzee, as he was the shake's father and a kind one too. "I'm sure either way, you'll love the little one, as it will love you back with just as much love." Anne continued the soft humming, her heart filled with happiness. It surprised her how much her heart had lifted at the sight of Ohanzee and the shake. At first she hadn't thought much of it, but as she rethought it over, she felt a strange emotion rise, and her cheeks redden at the relization.

Ohanzee watched happily as Annelise continued to rock his shake. Her motherly love seemed to be coming out as she held it, humming to it. Seeing her like this brought a warmth to his heart he had never felt before. He didn't understand it, but at the same time it felt good. "I know I will..." He hovered closer to the other lioness and placed his paw gently on her shoulder as she cradled the shake in her paws, watching with pride in his eyes.

Annelise felt his paw on her shoulder, and she smiled softly. The red left her cheeks, as she looked up to Ohanzee. She could see the pride he felt, and her heart warmed more. The silence wasn't awkward to her, as they flew together. A quiet lullaby Anne had been sung when she was a cub took place of the tunless humming. She hadn't noticed how the time had flown, as she noticed the sky was beginning to turn a pale pink.

Ohanzee had noticed the sky as well moments after her. The sun was already setting. He looked at her again and smiled. "It seems time has flown by..." He gently placed his paw over hers, which were still holding the shake. "Where will you go..?"

"I've got the trees or the comfort of my cave," Annelise smiled, "Would you like your shake back before we depart?" it almost hurt her to say it. Really she wanted to stay with him. Her heart ached as he placed his paws over hers. There was one thing she wanted to ask him before they had to go. "Have you ever wanted a family?"

He nodded a little, a pain in his heart when she mentioned leaving. "That's good..." He reached for his shake until she asked that question. A family..."Until I had this little one I didn't. But now I do. I wish you didn't have to go..."

Annelise smiled softly. "I don't have to leave just yet," she looked to the shake before placing the little one back into their father's paws gently. "I'd love to raise one some day," Anne nodded as she pulled her wings in a fraction and flew closer to him. "And I'd love to spend the rest of my days with you," she said staring at the clouds before meeting his eyes.

Ohanzee took his shake into his paws, smiling as she moved closer to him. "I'd love it if you'd stay as well" He then nuzzled her cheek, wrapping one arm around her shoulders while holding the shake close to his chest. "Will you be my mate Annelise?"

Annelise snuggled against him, gently nuzzling him back. "I'd love to," she said, her heart filling with warmth. With him she felt safe in his arms, and enjoyed his company more that she had any other lions before.
