Huruma laid in the shade of a steep hill, protected from the suns rays as she napped, for the moment, the grasses swaying around her in a soft breeze. She had just gotten back from a pretty successful hunt, bringing back a small gazelle for her and Akin to share. Dongo had gone off for a few hours to do his own grazing. He had accepted that Huruma and Akin were lions and did need to eat meat to survive, so he would go elsewhere while they hunted and fed.

The trio had been traveling for some time and both Akin and Huruma had grown up nicely, into a pair of strong predators, happy and healthy despite the lack of a steady hunting ground. The young lioness liked Dongo and his helpful guidance, but he was rather annoying sometimes in his... Well, obsession with safety and want to avoid pridal lands. It made sense to him, after all he was prey to most lions, but he was HER familiar, THEIR friend. But they were also young explorers and wanted to see what else was out there. Which included different prides.

Huruma sighed and rolled onto her back to stare up into the bright blue afternoon sky and then closed her blood-colored eyes, pondering where to go next. The had passed a river not too long ago. Should they follow it? Or continue on in this direction, towards the mountains in the distance?
